Delicious Greens 8000 Review: Ingredients, Dosages, Serving Costs

Greens 8000 is a superfood formula packed with freeze-dried fruits, vegetables, enzymes, and probiotics, produced by Greens World Inc. The formula contains over 50 ingredients, a lot of which are organic and all of which are 100% vegan.

As a brand, Greens World Inc dedicates a lot of time and energy to families and children, so it makes sense that this formula, unlike other supplements on the market, Greens 8000 is suitable for the entire family, including children.

Although the brand appears very modest about the formula’s benefits (which in itself concerns me), it’s supposed to provide nutritional coverage and provide additional immunity benefits.

I’m keen to take a closer look at this product to see if it really does deliver nutritional benefits for the entire family and who knows, maybe I’ll be able to uncover some more potential benefits along the way!

What is Greens 8000?

My first impression of the Greens 8000 is that the product, the website, and the brand look outdated. Everything from the branding to the lack of information on the website just looks old. The Greens World Inc was founded in 2004 and unfortunately, from my point of view, it looks like the brand hasn’t updated anything since then.

One of the most important selling points of this formula is the fact it has an ORAC (ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity) of 8,000, hence the name. However, this isn’t mentioned anywhere on the Greens 8000 website.

To actually find this information you have to look on the Greens World Inc website, which is completely different, and without researching around the product, you wouldn’t know straight away that the two sites were related.

So overall, my first impressions of the formula and the brand itself aren’t great.

I would appreciate the formula so much more if the brand just shared more information with the consumer, updated its branding, and modernized its marketing techniques.

Background on Greens World Inc

Although at initial glance it appears that Delicious Greens 8000 is the name of the brand (due to the fact it’s the only product on the website and even the header of the website is Greens 8000), it’s actually just a brand of the company Greens World Inc. The company also produces a product called Reds 8000.

Greens World Inc was founded in 2004 by Naturopathic Medical Doctor, Coco March. Coco March became a well-known name in the early noughties speaking on TV and producing columns for magazines and newspapers about nutrition.

March founded Greens World Inc after noticing a lot of her patients found it difficult to eat the correct amount of fruit and vegetables on a daily basis.

Greens 8000 Benefits

On the Greens 8000 website, there isn’t a lot of information about the formula’s benefits. However, taking a look at the formula’s Amazon product page, there’s thankfully more information!

The brand claims that Greens 8000 should increase energy levels, boost metabolism, aid with fat burning, increase the digestion, push toxins from the body, boost the immune system, aid with repair, recovery, and revitalization within the body, and increase longevity.

This is a long list of benefits with some really strong claims, and it would be nice to see this information on the Greens 8000 website itself.

Greens 8000 Ingredients

The Greens 8000 formula contains over 50 ingredients. The formula is 100% vegan, lactose-free, non-GMO and it contains no MSG, no fillers, and no preservatives.

However, the first thing that I notice when taking a look at the Greens 8000 ingredient list is that all of the ingredients exist within proprietary blends.

Proprietary blends make it impossible for the consumer to know exactly how much of each ingredient they’re consuming and therefore it’s also impossible to figure out whether the formula will actually work or not.

We’re going to take a look at whether the formula will work or not a little later in the review though, so let’s take a look at the ingredients list first.

  • Alginek Support (2010mg) – Barley Grass Juice Powder (certified organic), Spirulina (certified organic), Alfalfa Concentrate Ionic Trace Materials (certified organic), Chlorella (Japanese cracked cell)

How does Greens 8000 Taste?

Greens 8000 is available in four different flavors – Original, Berry, Chocolate, and Mocha. Regardless of which flavor you choose, the formula is really enjoyable, refreshing, and sweet.

Even the Original flavor can simply be mixed with water and still taste palatable.

Side Effects

This formula is one of the very few that’s marketed as safe for the entire family, including children. Therefore, you shouldn’t experience any side effects when consuming this formula.

However, the product does have a warning label on it, under California law, stating that it may contain substances that could cause birth defects and reproductive harm. This is a really concerning warning, especially as the formula is supposed to be suitable for the entire family.

Does Greens 8000 Work?

The Greens 8000 formula is made up of proprietary blends and therefore it’s unclear as to whether the formula will actually provide the consumer with the benefits the brand claims it will.

Proprietary blends are my biggest bugbear when it comes to supplements as it means the consumer is unable to actually work out how much of each ingredient they’re consuming.

Taking a closer look at the proprietary blends, surprisingly, each blend is heavily weighted, and therefore it gives me a little bit of hope that the correct amount of each ingredient actually could reside within the formula.

….it gives me a little bit of hope that the correct amount of each ingredient actually could reside within the formula.

For example, looking at Spirulina, as I often do (it’s an easy ingredient to compare as it has a recommended daily dosage and it’s in most super greens formulas), it’s quite possible that there might be an adequate amount of it present in the formula.

The recommended daily dose of Spirulina is 1-3g (Heathline), and with Spirulina being the second ingredient in the 2010mg Alginek Support blend, it’s possible there could be at least 1g of it present.

However, this is still just an estimated guess and it’s impossible to work out if that’s true or not. I’m also almost certain that for a lot of the ingredients within this formula the amount won’t meet the daily recommended dosage.

Greens 8000 Reviews

Taking a look at Amazon at the Greens 8000 formula there are over 100 reviews and the formula has an overall rating of 4.4 stars out of 5 stars.

Let’s take a look at a selection of the reviews below.

I feel these greens are at the top of my list for the taste! They are sweet and give me that wonderful green energy I enjoy so much! They can be mixed with soy milk, almond milk, juices, or just water and have such a great taste!!!5-star review

it's ok, mixes well but has a minty sweet taste to it which doesn't really go with juice. If it didn't have the sweetness I think I could handle it better.2-star review

First, I read a lot of comment about how good this product taste.. maybe the berry one but the Original taste awful and smell very bad. I love green powder, I always take amazing grass, and for me taste way better. The mix of Stevia with the other ingredients just doesn't fit but oh well I can pass beyond the taste when it comes to health products.1-star review

The reason why I want you to avoid it at any cost is that it contains a substance that is really dangerous: Lead. Not only Lead is known to cause birth defects, but it's also very cancerous and can cause irreversible damage to the brain. So this product can actually cause more harm than good.

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Although there isn’t a money-back guarantee, this product can be refunded within 30 days from purchase.

Where to buy Greens 8000?

You can buy Greens 8000 from the Greens 8000 website, from Amazon, and from other third-party supplement retailers online. The product is also available in Walmart stores.

Is It Worth The Price?

One tub of Greens 8000, containing 30 servings, costs $26.00. This works out at a cost per serving of $0.87. This is pretty cheap in comparison to other super greens formulas on the market, but due to the presence of proprietary blends, a cheap price is expected.

Ultimately we just don't know how much of each ingredient is in the formula, which puts a big question mark on whether its good value for the money.

My Final Verdict

The two main things that really put me off this formula are the fact it’s made from proprietary blends (of course), and the fact that the brand isn’t transparent.

There’s a huge lack of information about the formula on the brand’s site about the product and the brand itself when it comes to information about shipping, returns, FAQ’s, etc.

I have to say that I wouldn’t recommend this formula as I know for a fact there are formulas at a similar price point on the super greens market produced by transparent brands that show the consumer how much of each ingredient is present.
