Effusio Prebiotic review

Effusio Prebiotic Review

Effusio Prebiotic is a prebiotic disc supplement that contains blueberry complex, green tea extract, pomegranate extract, and PreforPro.

This prebiotic disc supplement is supposed to help the consumer to balance good bacteria within the gut, push toxins from the body, help with regulating blood sugar levels, and more.

The supplement is gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free. It is also packaged in a recyclable carton that doesn’t contain plastic.

Effusio Prebiotic is a trendy, innovative product, and therefore I’m keen to take a closer look at it to see if it really is as great as the brand claims it is!

Effusio Prebiotic First Impressions

The Effusio website is super cool, modern, sleek, and aesthetically pleasing! There’s a wide range of informative content on the blog and a lot of information about the brand’s mission too, which is great to see!

Looking at Effusio Prebiotic, the branding still looks great and there’s quite a lot of information about the product.

However, the fact that Effusio is a disc-style supplement really does concern me – I’m pretty certain each disc cannot contain sufficiently dosed ingredients.

However, hopefully, when I take a closer look I’ll be surprised at the effectiveness of the supplement!

Background on Effusio/Thorne/Nutrativa LLC

The company behind Effusio is a little confusing! Essentially, Effusio is a supplement brand produced by Thorne Healthtech, a merger of Onegevity and Thorne.

However, the LLC behind Effusio is called Nutrativa LLC. So, it’s all a bit messy!

However, what we do know is that Effusio was founded at the end of 2019. The brand exclusively creates prebiotic and sleep disc-style supplements using premium ingredients.

Effusio Prebiotic Benefits

Although there isn’t an extensive list of benefits associated with Effusio Prebiotic, there are a few!

These discs are simply supposed to balance good bacteria within the gut, push toxins from the body, help with regulating blood sugar levels, and help maintain a healthy weight.

Effusio Prebiotic Ingredients

Effusio Prebiotic contains just 4 main ingredients.

Although three of these ingredients are produced by specific brands and two are complex ingredients, the amount of each ingredient is disclosed. This makes it fairly easy to figure out the efficacy of the formula.

However, I’ll take a look at that later! First, let’s take a look at the ingredients label.

Here is the complete list of the Effusio Prebiotic ingredients:

  • AuroraBlue Blueberry Complex (fruit, leaf, and stem) (Vaccinium spp. extract) – 100mg
  • Green Select Green Tea Extract (leaf) decaffeinated – 100mg
  • Pomegranate Extract – 50mg
  • PreforPro – 15mg
  • Other Ingredients –Cellulose Powder, Xylitol, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Flavors, Glycerin (Vegetable Source), Pullulan, Purified Water, MCT Oil, Stevia Leaf Extract (Rebaudioside A 95%), Acerola Powder, Quillaja Extract.

Here is the supplement label:

How does Effusio Prebiotic Taste?

Effusio Prebiotic is Pomegranate Berry flavored. The ingredients label says tha the discs contain “flavors”, meaning they’re most likely not natural! The discs also contain stevia leaf extract to sweeten them.

Reviews about the taste of Effusio Prebiotic are positive – everyone seems to enjoy the sweet berry taste!

Side Effects

There are no side effects associated with the product. However, the brand does suggest that if you are pregnant or nursing you should consult a doctor before consumption.

I would add to this and also recommend that if you have a medical condition or are taking medication you should also consult a doctor before consumption.

Does Effusio Prebiotic Work?

Effusio Prebiotic is certainly interesting – I haven’t come across a disc-style supplement before!

Although the brand does provide information about why they’ve chosen to use discs instead of capsules, effervescent tabs, or gummies, it’s unclear if there is a scientific benefit to using a disc supplement.

In my opinion, I would assume that these discs will not be able to provide a substantial amount of ingredients.

However, let’s take a look. Thankfully, even though there are some proprietary blend ingredients in the formula, the ingredients label is fairly disclosed and therefore we can attempt to figure out the efficacy of the formula.

Firstly, it’s clear to me that the formula doesn’t provide a number of potent prebiotic ingredients, such as natural fibres, but instead contains ingredients such as blueberries, pomegranate, and green tea.

The discs just aren’t big enough to provide substantial ingredients.

Since the only ingredient within the disc that actually has a recommended dose is green tea extract, let’s take a look and see if it’s sufficiently dosed.

The recommended dose of green tea extract is between 250-500mg, and since each serving only provides 100mg, it’s clearly not sufficiently dosed. Therefore, it may not provide the benefits associated with it.

Although pomegranate doesn’t have a specific standard recommended dose, most pomegranate extract supplements contain at least 500mg of the fruit. Therefore, since these discs only contain 50mg, they’re not likely to provide any substantial health benefits either.

Overall, it’s clear that these discs don’t provide sufficiently dosed ingredients and therefore may not provide the benefits the brand claims they will. They just aren’t big enough to provide substantial ingredients.

Effusio Prebiotic Reviews

Effusio Prebiotic is not available on Amazon, where I typically take a look at customer reviews. However, the product is sold on Thorne and there is a selection of customer reviews that are likely to be unbiased on there.

Therefore, we’ll take a look on there to see what real customers have to say about the product!

Overall, Effusio Prebiotic only has 12 customer ratings and the overall rating of the product is 4 out of 5 stars.

So, let’s take a look at some of these reviews!

Very happy with the quality of this product and effects I'm seeing in my body; I have multiple health conditions, and quality supplementation makes a big difference in the quality of my being! I trust Thorne for their reputation among patients and professionals alike, as well as my own positive personal experience. Highly recommend!5-star review

Discs get stuck to the foil and horrible aftertaste. Why not make a capsule? Not sure how it works yet as I have taken it two times but frustrated that I have to scrap it off the foil with a knife. All other products I take from you are great though!3-star review

The disc packaging is hard to open, and then when you do, the discs stick to the inside of the packaging. It isn't an easily separated wafer like it seemed to be. It also takes quite a while for the parts I was able to peel off to dissolve in the water. I definitely can get prebiotics and polyphenols in a more convenient and affordable way than this.1-star review

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

The brand does not provide a money-back guarantee. If you want to return the product you have to do so within 14 days of purchase.

Where to buy Effusio Prebiotic?

You can buy Effusio Prebiotic from the Effusio website and from Thorne.

Is It Worth The Price?

One box of Effusio Prebiotic contains 30 discs, therefore meaning one box will provide 30 servings.

You can either buy the supplements on a one-time purchase or on a subscription option, with the latter providing you with a discount on refills!

One box of Effusio Prebiotic on a one-time purchase costs $42, meaning the cost per serving works out at $1.40.

One box of Effusio Prebiotic on a subscription costs the same initially, but refills cost $37.80, meaning the cost per serving on refills is $1.26.

I don’t think these discs are worth the price that they’re sold at since they don’t contain a particularly high or potent amount of prebiotics and it’s unclear whether the disc-style supplements are actually effective.

My Final Verdict

Effusio Prebiotic might be an innovative supplement, but it doesn’t tick all the boxes in my opinion.

Frankly, the discs do not have the ability to provide sufficiently dosed ingredients, and additionally, the ingredients within the formula are not exactly the most potent prebiotic ingredients.

Therefore, I would not recommend purchasing this supplement since it may not provide you with benefits. If you’re looking for a prebiotic supplement, I would look elsewhere!
