Equip Micro Greens powder review

Equip Foods Micro Greens Review

Micro Greens, by Equip Foods, is a micronutrient greens formula that will apparently supply the consumer with 14 servings of 22 fruit and vegetables per scoop. That’s a bold claim, so it’s going to be exciting to look at the formula more closely to see if this bold claim is actually true!

As most of the Equip Foods supplements are, this formula is targeted towards those that live an active lifestyle, for example, athletes and those hitting the gym frequently!

Since this is the brand’s target market, unlike other super greens brands that claim the formula will help boost the immune system and increase the wellness of other areas of the body, Equip Foods claims that the Micro Greens formula will boost energy levels, aid with muscle recovery, aid with staying ‘lean’ and increase strength.

Equip Foods claims that it’s a brand that’s raising the bar in the supplement industry by being transparent and providing the cleanest supplements around, so it’s going to be really interesting to see if this formula is as powerful as the brand says it is, and if the information about it is actually transparent or not!

Equip Foods Micro Greens First Impressions

From the outset, I get the impression that Equip Foods is a no-nonsense brand, which I really appreciate! Although the brand’s website might not the most engaging or appealing, it’s simple, easy to use, and contains a wide range of information.

However, saying that, the Micro Greens formula does look attractive, and the branding and the information on the pouch of formula would certainly draw me in if I was looking at it in a line up with other supplements.

There’s a substantial amount of information about the Micro Greens formula on the product page, but I do seem to see the phrase ‘14 servings of 22 different fruits and veggies.’ being repeated a lo – it would be nice to see other information about the formula besides this.

Nonetheless, I think the Micro Greens formula looks intriguing and attractive at first glance and I appreciate the straight, no-nonsense take the brand seems to have, so I’m eager to really get into it and start evaluating the formula further.

Background on Equip Foods

Equip Foods was founded in 2016 by Dr. Anthony Gustin. Gustin is also the founder of Perfect Keto, a supplement brand that specializes in creating keto-friendly supplements.

Although it seems that Perfect Keto is the more successful one of the two brands, Equip Foods is also a popular supplement brand, with the brand’s commitment to transparency and ‘no junk’ being one of its main selling points.

The ‘no junk’ I speak of is that the brand prides itself on creating specially formulated supplements that don’t contain added sugars, preservatives, fillers, or chemicals.

Equip Foods Micro Greens Benefits

As mentioned briefly above, Equip Greens tends to market itself towards people that live active lifestyles but simply don’t have the time to be relying on food sources alone for their nutritional intake.

Although the Micro Greens formula would definitely provide a wide range of benefits and appeal to a wide audience of customers, even those without active lifestyles, the brand seems to only claim that the formula will benefit those with active lifestyles.

I think the brand might have gone a little too simple with its marketing tactics hereby limiting the number of health benefits it says that the formula provides, it’s lowering the reach that it could otherwise have.

The brand claims that the formula will aid with muscle recovery, increase energy levels, aid with staying lean, and increase strength.

Equip Foods Micro Greens Ingredients

The Micro Greens formula contains 37 ingredients in total, with 22 of them being superfood ingredients.

Unfortunately, the formula is made up of proprietary blends, which seems incredibly strange for a brand that’s all about transparency! However, we will look at the efficacy of the formula later on.

Here is the complete list of Equip Foods Micro Greens ingredients:

  • Organic Greens Blend (4,500 mg) – Organic Alfalfa Grass, Organic Wheatgrass, Organic Barley Grass, Organic Oat Grass, Organic Broccoli, Organic Cabbage, Organic Parsley, Organic Kale, Organic Spirulina, Organic Dulse, Organic Dandelion, Organic Broccoli Sprouts
  • Organic Antioxidant Fruit & Berry Blend (4,500mg) – Organic Pineapple Juice Powder, Organic Apple Juice Powder, Organic Maquiberry, Organic Acerola Berry, Organic Blackberry, Organic Blueberry, Organic Strawberry, Organic Goji Berry, Organic Raspberry, Organic Cranberry

How does Equip Foods Micro Greens Taste?

Equip Foods prides itself on creating formulas without unnecessary ingredients, including flavoring ingredients. However, the formula is sweetened using stevia extract, and it’s actually named ‘Organic Berry’ flavor.

Although the formula doesn’t really taste like berries, it’s sweet to the taste and pleasant to drink. You can still taste a hint of the super greens ingredients within the formula, but the brand does warn about this, saying that the formula may taste bitter.

Side Effects

Equip Foods doesn’t offer any warnings about side effects that consumers may experience, and you shouldn’t experience any adverse effects by consuming it, as long as you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients.

However, as always, I recommend that if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, taking any medication, have a medical condition or you’re under 18 years old, you should consult a doctor before consumption.

Does Equip Foods Micro Greens Work?

As mentioned briefly above, the Micro Greens formula is made up of proprietary blends. Proprietary blends are a nightmare because they don’t show how much of each ingredient is actually within the formula. Instead, the amount of each blend (containing multiple ingredients) is shown.

I have to say, I’m surprised that Equip Foods uses proprietary blends since the brand is so loud and proud about claiming it’s fully transparent and better than other brands that don’t contain sufficient amounts of ingredients!

Although it’s impossible to say for certain whether the formula will actually work or not, we can take a look at the ingredients and see if the blends are even weighted heavily enough to have a sufficient amount of them.

some [ingredients] may be sufficiently dosed and therefore supply benefits – it’s impossible to actually know the truth because the brand hasn’t been transparent.

Organic Greens Blend, and even just two of the ingredient’s minimum recommended doses come in at 4g (spirulina and wheatgrass).

So, it’s unlikely that every single one of these ingredients will be sufficiently dosed, and therefore it’s unlikely that all of the ingredients will supply health benefits. However, some may be sufficiently dosed and therefore supply benefits – it’s impossible to actually know the truth because the brand hasn’t been transparent.

Equip Foods Micro Greens Reviews

The Micro Greens formula is only available on the Equip Foods website, so there aren’t any reviews on Amazon, where I normally look for customer reviews!

So, I’ve had to take customer reviews from the Equip Foods website. Obviously, they may be biased because the brand has had the final say over what makes it to the website.

Nonetheless, it’s all we’ve got to work with, so let’s take a look at some of the reviews!

So far so good! I don't mind the taste, it's easy to take, the consistency is smooth, not chunky. I notice it helps my digestion a lot and I feel fully satiated. The price is high for me but so far I'm keeping my subscription as long as it keeps working.5-star reviewer

I love adding a scoop of micro greens to my morning smoothie, which is already loaded with greens, for an extra boost of nutrition! Tastes great, blends easily and I trust the products!5-star reviewer

I really want to love this – but the taste is not good. I mix it in with my chocolate Equip and drink it anyway because I know the nutrients are amazing – but the taste of the micro greens not so much. Maybe if it were sweeter it would help.4-star reviewer

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Equip Foods doesn’t offer a money-back guarantee. If you want to return any Equip Food products, you can do so for a full refund if you return an unused product within 30 days of purchase.

Where to buy Equip Foods Micro Greens?

As far as I can tell, you can only buy Micro Greens from the Equip Foods website.

Is It Worth The Price?

One pouch of Micro Greens contains 30 servings and costs $59. Therefore, the cost per serving of the formula is $1.96.

This is a fairly expensive cost per serving considering the fact that the formula is made from proprietary blends.

The Bottom Line

Honestly, I don’t think this formula is the worst greens formula, but I also don’t think it’s the best.

I really like the brand’s overall ethos and image – it’s clean, simple, and straight to the point without any of the faff. I also really liked the idea of the brand is transparent.

However, I would have liked the brand to actually show transparency on the formula’s ingredients list, rather than just claim that it’s a transparent company.

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t choose to purchase this formula, simply because it contains proprietary blends, and I like to know exactly what I’m consuming and be confident that the supplement I’m taking will actually provide me with benefits!
