Gundry MD Bio Complete 3 Review

Bio Complete 3 is a prebiotic, probiotic, and post-biotic capsule supplement produced by Gundry MD.

This capsule supplement is not only supposed to improve gut health, but the brand also claims that it will boost energy levels, improve weight loss, reduce cravings for food, and more.

Gundry MD is a popular supplement company and since this is one of their most popular products, I’m keen to take a closer look at it, especially since there’s a pretty mixed bag of reviews about results from taking the capsules.

If you’re thinking of purchasing Gundry MD Bio Complete 3, or you also want to take a closer look at it, check out my full Gundry MD Bio Complete 3 review below.

What is Bio Complete 3?

I’m familiar with the Gundry MD website as I’ve reviewed another Gundry MD product, Total Restore, before. I’m not so keen on the brand’s website, to be honest. Everything has a very clinical and kind of “pushy” feel to it.

There doesn’t seem to be a lot of personality coming from the brand, which is a shame!

Looking at the Bio Complete 3 formula, I have a similar first impression. The branding is pretty basic and it certainly doesn’t catch my eye.

However, there is quite a substantial amount of information about the supplement on the product page which is pleasing.

Other Gundry supplements I have reviewed that you may be interested in:

Background on Gundry MD

Gundry MD was founded by cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr Steven Gundry in 2016. Due to the fact that Gundry is a popular author and internet personality with some pretty bold opinions, the brand grew in popularity quickly.

The mission of the company is to “dramatically improve human health” and the brand produces a wide range of supplements to help people do just that.

However, there are some complaints about the business on the BBB and some people believe that there’s no scientific backing to Dr Gundry’s claims and supplements.

Bio Complete 3 Benefits

Gundry MD is actually very clever with how they talk about the benefits associated with this formula, cleaning that “everyone is unique so will see different results”. Hm, it sounds slightly suspicious!

Although, the brand does state that consumers can expect to experience benefits such as higher energy levels, weight loss, reduced symptoms of digestive issues, and reduced cravings for food.

Bio Complete 3 Ingredients

Bio Complete 3 contains just 3 main ingredients. The ingredients label is fully disclosed and therefore it’s clear to see how much of each ingredient exists within the capsule formula.

However, each ingredient is a trademarked ingredient produced by laboratories. Therefore, it’s difficult to work out the efficacy of these types of ingredients, since the laboratories create their own recommended doses!

Although, I’ll be looking deeper into the efficacy of Bio Complete later in this review. First, let’s take a look at the ingredients within these capsules!

Here is the complete list of the Bio Complete 3 ingredients:

  • CoreBiome (Standardized to 30% Tributyrin) – 1000mg
  • Sunfiber – 200mg
  • Bacillus Coagulans (ProDura) – 16mg
  • Other Ingredients –Microcrystalline Cellulose, Hydroxypropyl, Methylcellulose, Sunflower Oil, Fatty Acids Esterified with Glycerol, Magnesium Stearate, Silica, Maltodextrin.

How does Bio Complete 3 Taste?

Bio Complete 3 is a capsule supplement and therefore it doesn’t have a taste. However, you will want to swallow these capsules as fast as possible, otherwise, they are likely to leave an unpleasant taste in your mouth!

Side Effects

There are no side effects associated with Bio Complete 3. However, the brand does suggest consulting your doctor before consuming the capsules.

I would suggest that if you are pregnant, nursing, on medication, or have a medical condition you should definitely consult a doctor before consuming this supplement.

Does Bio Complete 3 Work?

Bio Complete does have a fully disclosed label, which is obviously great when it comes to working out the efficacy of the supplement.

However, the three main ingredients within the formula are patented ingredients produced by other large laboratories.

Therefore, it’s unclear if these ingredients will actually provide benefits associated with them since they have their own recommended doses, and additionally, I think it’s not fair to say that these ingredients are natural, as the brand claims.

There are several different types of potent and fully natural probiotics and prebiotics out there, such as Jerusalem Artichoke and Chicory Root.

Therefore, it’s a shame to see that instead of creating their own capsules with natural ingredients, Gundry MD has chosen to gather a selection of patented ingredients and combine them in one capsule.

It’s clear to see that there isn’t a large number of probiotics, prebiotics, and postbiotics within the capsules.

Overall, it’s completely unclear whether the Bio Complete 3 capsules will provide health benefits to consumers since the ingredients within it are patented and have their own specific recommended doses.

However, it’s clear to see that there isn’t a large number of probiotics, prebiotics, and postbiotics within the capsules.

Therefore, these capsules will most likely not provide a substantial number of health benefits to the consumer.

Bio Complete 3 Reviews

Although there are reviews of Bio Complete 3 on the Gundry MD website, it’s also available to buy on Amazon and there are nearly 2,000 customer reviews of the product on there!

Typically, Amazon reviews are much less likely to be biased and therefore to see real, honest customer reviews, we’ll take a look on there!

On Amazon, Bio Complete 3 has 1,964 customer ratings and scores an overall rating of 4 out of 5 stars.

So, let’s take a look at some of these reviews!

It's a great value and it works magically. I have taken lots of supplements but none are as effective and as well priced as these. If you have any kinds of issues this is the place to start. Your gut health is important for everything. Try a botte and you will see changes the same or next day.5-star review

Personally I think this is just hype. I’m not impressed. Working out has been more beneficial than this keto bull.3-star review

Did nothing for my issues. Made me gassy all day after choling down the four large pills in each dose. Didn't finish the bottle; won't be buying again.1-star review

Where to buy Bio Complete 3?

You can buy Bio Complete 3 from the Gundry MD website and from Amazon.

Is It Worth The Price?

One bottle of Bio Complete 3 contains 120 capsules, and with 4 capsules being the recommended serving size, this means that one bottle contains 30 servings!

You can either buy one bottle, three bottles, or six bottles – you receive discount the more you buy!

One bottle of Bio Complete 3 costs $69.95, meaning the cost per serving works out at $2.33.

Three bottles of Bio Complete 3 costs $188.85, meaning the cost per serving works out at $2.10.

Six bottles of Bio Complete 3 costs $353.70, meaning the cost per serving works out at $1.97.

In my opinion, for what it is, the Bio Complete 3 is overpriced, even at the lowest cost option! There are much better prebiotic and probiotic formulas out there that provide a high number of natural ingredients for much less.

Therefore, I simply don’t think it’s worth the price that it’s sold for.

My Final Verdict

I’m not sold on the Bio Complete 3 capsules for a few reasons.

Firstly, I don’t like the fact that they contain patented ingredients from laboratories and none of their own natural ingredients.

Secondly, the price of the capsules is high for what they provide you with.

Thirdly, a lot of customer reviews aren’t great – lots of people have experienced digestive health issues and side effects from taking this supplement.

Therefore, overall, unless you really really want to purchase and consume Bio Complete 3 from Gundry MD, I would suggest looking elsewhere for a gut-boosting supplement!

  1. Thank you so much for your honesty! I got ripped off over $200 which I pretty much deserve because I was stupid enough to purchase the ACV whatever kind of weight loss, gummy. I was supposed to have only ordered one bottle. Well they screwed by charging me for five bottles of what is I should say gummy candy. I know I wasn’t in my right mind when I purchased them and for that I take responsibility however, it’s all hype and BS for us poor fools who want to lose weight the easy way instead of working out and eating better which is the only way you’re gonna lose weight! I even put in a dispute and I had to freeze my bank account! Lesson learned I’ll start swimming again and staying away from cookies and such! Thanks again for the reminder to do research because I was thinking about ordering those probiotics‍♀️ Lesson definitely learned!

    1. Adam, I like and appreciate your forthright comments on Dr. Gundry’s product. Thanks for your review. I’m sorry about the unintended change in your life plans, and it sounds like you are adapting extremely well. I listened to his video, and thought he gave useful dietary information. However, once he started flogging his product, he was no longer emphasizing the values of a good diet. My final thought was I would never buy from a company that has a subscription policy.
Marcie, thanks for sharing your experience, and I fully subscribe to your views on these “health supplements”. Let’s get moving!
