Innerlight Super Greens

Innerlight Super Greens Review

Innerlight Super Greens is a superfood formula containing over 40 vegetables, grasses, leaves, and herbs. The formula is produced by pH Miracle Products and the formula was created by a well-known naturopathic practitioner, Robert O. Young.

pH Miracle Products claims that the formula will alkalize the body and balance pH levels, increase energy levels, push toxins from the body, and provide the essential vitamins and minerals needed for daily optimum health.

Innerlight Super Greens was originally created in 1988, which makes it one of the first super greens powders ever made. Over the years, the product has received a wide range of varied feedback and I’m very keen to take a closer look at it.

Let’s take a look at my full Innerlight Super Greens review below.

Innerlight Super Greens First Impressions

I have to be honest, my initial impression of Innerlight Super Greens isn’t great.

The tub branding and the pH Miracle Product website both look they’re stuck in 1988, without date colors, vocabulary, font, and an absolute lack of clear information.

The actual product label itself is not even shown on the brand’s website and to find the ingredients list you have to scroll through lines and lines of endless chatter related to super greens as a whole, but not the specific product.

Nothing about this brand, or the product itself looks clearly thought through, even though apparently Robert O. Young has spent his entire life dedicated to researching in this field and producing these products.

Overall, my impressions aren’t great, so hopefully, the product is unbelievably beneficial and without flaws!

Background on pH Miracle Products

There’s a lot of problems when it comes to pH Miracle Products and Robert O. Young rose to fame quickly in the early 2000s after releasing an array of ‘pH Miracle’ books that claimed alkaline diets were the solution to a multitude of illnesses, including cancer.

Young featured on shows such as The Oprah Winfrey Show and started to advise people with illnesses.

In 2001, Young was charged with a felony after telling a cancer patient to stop doing her course of chemotherapy and try his alkaline diet.

This case was dropped.

In 2014 Young was arrested for 18 charges, including practicing medicine without a license and theft. It was reported he had asked people to pay up to $50,000 for his treatments (Wikipedia).

He was found guilty and spent around five months in jail. Then, in 2016, he was ordered to pay out $105 million to a cancer patient he told to stop chemotherapy and use his treatments instead, again.

This is an incredibly concerning background of Robert O. Young, the founder of pH Miracle Products and it definitely doesn’t make me want to support his brand. In fact, it’s concerning as to why the company hasn’t been shut down.

Innerlight Super Greens Ingredients

The recommended serving size for Innerlight Super Greens is quite vague, with the recommendation being approximately one 5g scoop taken 1-3 times a day.

When it comes to the ingredients list, none of the amounts are shown. Instead, there’s just a list.

Here is the list of ingredients:

  • Ingredients – Green Kamut Grass, Barley Grass, Lemon Grass, Shave Grass, Wheat Grass, Bilberry Leaf, Alfalfa Leaf, Dandelion Leaf, Black Walnut Leaf, Blackberry Leaf, Plantain Leaf, Red Raspberry Leaf, Boldo Leaf, Goldenseal Leaf, Papaya Leaf, Strawberry Leaf, Rosemary Leaf, Avocado Fruit, Blueberry Leaf, Slippery Elm Bark, Marshmallow Root, Pau D'arco Bark, Cornsilk, Beta Carotene, Rose Hips (Rose Canina) Fruit, Echinacea Tops, Couch Grass, Meadowsweet Herb, Oat Grass, Soy Sprouts, Kale Leaf, Spinach Leaf, Okra Fruit, Cabbage Herb, Celery Seed, Parsley Leaf, Broccoli Floret, Turmeric Rhizome, Tomato Fruit, Watercress Herb, Alfalfa Leaf Juice, Peppermint Leaf, Spearmint Leaf, Wintergreen Leaf, Sage Leaf, Thyme Leaf, Mineral Mix, Aloe Vera Leaf Concentrate.

There are definitely some powerful ingredients on this list, but without the knowledge of how much of each ingredient is within the formula, it may not actually benefit the consumer at all.

How does Innerlight Super Greens Taste?

Innerlight Super Greens isn’t flavored and therefore it has the super greens taste that you expect.

It’s quite overpowering and grassy.

The brand claims you will become accustomed to the taste with time – I am not so sure!

I know because I have tried over 40 greens powders to date, I rank the best tasting greens that I have tried in my round-up here.

Side Effects

There are no warnings on the Innerlight Super Greens formula and from looking at the ingredients listed, you shouldn’t suffer from any side effects if you consume this formula.

Does Innerlight Super Greens Work?

Firstly, I have a huge problem with the fact the brand isn’t transparent enough to even show the nutrition facts on the back of the tub on the website.

Secondly, the ingredients list that’s written on the product information on the website doesn’t feature any amount of information.

Therefore, the consumer has absolutely no idea how much of each ingredient they are consuming.

If this were another brand and they had everything else absolutely spot on, I might give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that it would work.

However, knowing Robert O. Young’s record of practicing medicine without a license and all of the lies he has told throughout his career, I wouldn’t trust that this formula actually provides benefits.

Innerlight Super Greens Reviews

Innerlight Super Greens cannot be found on Amazon or any other third party sites with reviews and therefore I have had to take a look at the reviews on the ph Miracle Product website. All of the reviews are 5-star and are from people suffering from MS.

Let’s take a look selection of the reviews:

I have been drinking the Greens since Innerlight Days- early 2000’s as a young 22 years old diagnosed with MS. It works wonders on my body. I love the way it makes me feel. I love that it is a Diuretic and it is the only thing that helps me with my chronic bladder problems. I drink 1-2 a day and have been for 17 years. I still don’t take medicine for MS. I went to a neurologist once and never went back. I try to eat alkaline the best I can. I love my green drink!! — April T. C

I have had a cold for 2 days and last night I was awake from 1-4 AM feeling miserable, 2nd night in a row. I got a 16 oz bottle of water and put one scoop of Supergreens in it, and once I drank it within about 10-15 mins I felt noticeably better. Woke up feeling better than I have all week. Drank some more today, and it's pushing my cold out. That stuff is amazing. Now going to continue drinking every day and increase the amount slowly. So excited at the thought of increasing my energy! It’s so simple it's ridiculous, actually. No idea why I ever stopped, but excited to get back on track. Thank you is all I can say! — Anonymous

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

There’s no money-back guarantee offered by pH Miracle Products. However, you can return unopened products within 15 days for a full refund, or opened products within 15 days for store credit.

Where to buy Innerlight Super Greens?

You can buy Innerlight Super Greens from the pH Miracle Products website.

Is It Worth The Price?

Innerlight Super Greens formula comes in ¼ lb tubs, ½ lbs, a 1lb tub, and a tub filled with 180 capsules.

One 1/4lb tub costs $42.00. This works out at a cost per serving of $5.60 if you were to take the 5g recommended serving three times a day.

The cost per serving comes down if you buy the larger tubs (1/2lb tub costs $58.00 / 1lb tub costs $104).

Finally, a tub of 180 capsules costs $58.00. There’s no recommended serving size for the tablets so unfortunately the cost per serving cannot be confirmed.

This is a really high price point for a formula that contains undisclosed amounts of ingredients.

My Verdict

I would not recommend this formula to anyone.

The fact that Robert O. Young has felony charges against him for practicing medicine without a license and taking extortionate amounts of money from people suffering from illnesses is enough in itself to have caution over this brand.

However, even the formula fails in my eyes. There’s no transparency about the ingredients, a lack of information about the product and it’s expensive.

There are definitely much better super greens formulas out there.

  1. I was looking for mor information on Dr. Young’s product & low & behold I found yours. What really gets me is that you had a bunch of very negative things to say but did you try it? Did you take it for awhile to see what benefits, if any and report on those? But noooo, nothing about that! Then I get to the bottom of your report and what do I see? You’re pushing your own product after researching everyone else’s product you decided to make your own. Not impressed and I think it’s a very cheap shot to push your own agenda!

    1. Hi Donnie,
Thanks for your comment. If you take some time to read my site more you will know exactly why I have developed my own product from a geniune need. I wanted a product that clearly shows all in the ingredients listed in the formula so that I could be confident there is no under-dosing and that the product would work. I soon discovered most products are not transparent with the their formula but are keen to associate the benefits of studies on individual ingredients.
I don’t think it is too much to ask for transparency and fully disclosed label.
I make it very clear whether I have managed to try a supplement I have reviewed or not. I would like to take very product but it is not feesible. Not only is it the cost ( I have spent thousands of dollars on products ) but it wouldn’t be a true test if taking more than one product at a time.
If the review was useful to you great, if not, then that’s okay too.. go ahead and do your own research, look at the studies on individual ingredients and compare this to the products you see online. Or better still, purchase it and make the decision yourself.
Many people do valuable the experience of years of Sports Science training, where I studied more about nutrition than most general practitioners, alongside hours and hours of researching and trying products for myself to combat chronic fatigue syndrome for years 😉
      Cheers,
      Adam
