Metabolic Greens Plus review

Metabolic Greens Plus Review

Metabolic Greens Plus, produced by naturopathic supplement company Pure Health Research, is a super greens formula containing a wide range of ingredients, from grasses and fruit to probiotics and digestive enzymes.

All of the ingredients within the formula are vegetarian and vegan-friendly, non-GMO, gluten-free, soy-free, and dairy-free, meaning it’s suitable for a wide range of people.

The formula is supposed to target three main areas – boosting energy, improving the metabolism, and supporting the body’s natural detox. The target audience for this formula is those that are slightly older and looking to lose weight.

Pure Health Research is a relatively new company on the supplement scene, and the Metabolic Greens Plus formula certainly stands out for its medical look and weight-loss approach on the super greens market, so it’s going to be interesting to take a closer look at this formula.

If you’re thinking of purchasing the Metabolic Greens Plus formula, or you’re interested in taking a closer look at the formula because you’re a super greens enthusiast, then you’re in the right place – check out my full Metabolic Greens Plus review below.

Metabolic Greens Plus First Impressions

The Pure Health Research website has a real clinical feel to it, which I assume is intentional, with the brand wanting to provoke a sense of scientific research, hence the brand name! I’m not overly excited about the website, and to be honest, my excitement doesn’t change when looking at the Metabolic Greens Plus formula.

The Metabolic Greens Plus product page looks to me like an outdated, scam-like page, with a real push to buy the product. Nonetheless, there’s a generous amount of information about the product, although most of this information (including the ingredients label) sits under drop-down FAQ’s, which I find a little odd.

My first impressions of this brand and this product aren’t amazing, but they’re not extremely bad either, so I’m looking forward to diving deeper and uncovering more information about both the brand and the formula.

Background on Pure Health Research

Founded in 2019 by Dr. Eric Wood, Pure Health Research is a naturopathic supplement company that claims to have a five-round testing and research process before producing any supplement.

There’s not a lot of information about the Pure Health Research company online apart from several complaints on the Better Business Bureau website, which isn’t a great start!

Most people seem to be complaining about paying for products that have never arrived with them, in particular, the Fungal Eliminator Formula. It’s really concerning that so many people seem to have a similar complaint, and it definitely makes me wary of the company’s legitimacy.

Metabolic Greens Plus Benefits

The benefits of the Metabolic Greens Plus formula are clearly laid out on the Pure Health Research website, which is refreshing, rather than having to search through the product’s FAQS to find information, as you have to do with the ingredients list and side effects.

The brand claims that the formula will support the body’s ability to detox, boost the metabolism, curb appetite and cravings, help to burn more calories and fat, boost healthier digestion, and provide energy all day long.

There’s also some information about the specific benefits associated with some of the ingredients, which can be found in the FAQ area of the product page. For example, “ Ginger Root Extract – Promotes healthy circulation and digestion for effective toxin removal. Also shown to boost fat burning, blow away brain fog, and reduce feelings of hunger”.

Metabolic Greens Plus Ingredients

Metabolic Greens Plus contains over 30 ingredients, from grasses and enzymes to herbal extracts and fruit. Unfortunately, these ingredients all exist in proprietary blends, which I’ll be looking at in more detail later, but essentially, it’s not a good thing!

First, let’s take a look at the ingredients list.

Here is the complete list of the ingredients:

  • Greens Blend (2.7g) – Barley Grass, Alfalfa Grass, Wheat Grass, Brocolli Powder (aerial parts), Spirulina, Green Tea Extract 4:1
  • Reds Blend (2.1g) – Black Currant Fruit, Raspberry Fruit, Beet Root, Acai Fruit Extract, Strawberry Juice Powder, Blueberry Fruit, Pomegranate Fruit Powder
  • Metabolic Blend (2.1mg) – Ginger Root, Ceylon Cinnamon Bark, Bitter Melon Extract (fruit), Turmeric Rhizome Powder, White Tea Extract, Black Pepper Fruit Extract
  • Digestive Blend (500mg/5 bil CFU) – Xylooligosaccharide. Nine Strain Probiotic – Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Lactobacillus Salivarius, Lactobacillus Plantarum, Lactobacillus Rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium Lactis, Bifidobacterium Bifidum, Lactobacillus Fermentum, Lactobacillus Reuteri, Bifidobacterium Longum
  • Digezyme – Enzyme Blend – Amylase 5000 SKB/GM, Protease 5000 HUT/GM, Lipase 1000 FIP/GM, Lactase 1000 ALU/GM, Cellulase 1000CU UNITS/GM
  • Other Ingredients – Stevia, Maltodextrin, Citric Acid

How does it Taste?

The Metabolic Greens has pretty much no positive reviews when it comes to the taste of the formula, with one review even claiming “It smelled and tasted like rotten swamp weeds. Very NASTY!!!”

The formula is sweetened using stevia, maltodextrin, and citric acid.

In addition to the formula tasty pungent and unpleasant, I’m also wary of the use of maltodextrin to sweeten the formula as it can increase blood sugar levels.

Side Effects

Pure Health Research states that the Metabolic Greens Plus formula is made from all-natural ingredients and therefore has no reported side effects. However, the brand does suggest that people with any pre-existing chronic conditions should consult a doctor before consumption.

I would also add to this and suggest that those who are under 18, pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medication should consult a doctor before consumption.

Does Metabolic Greens Plus Work?

Metabolic Greens Plus contains proprietary blends, which is a big problem when it comes to working out whether the formula will actually work or not.

Proprietary blends contain multiple ingredients and only show the amount of the blend as a whole, so the amount of each ingredient is unknown. Therefore, it’s impossible to work out if the ingredients are sufficiently dosed.

The only thing that we can do is take an estimated guess about whether the formula is sufficiently dosed (or not) and whether it will actually provide the benefits that the brand claims it will.

To do this, let’s take a look at the Greens Blend, as this blend contains ingredients with standard recommended doses.

These ingredients are wheatgrass and spirulina, both of which combined have a recommended dose of 4g, and the total blend weighs 2.7g, so it’s obviously very unlikely, albeit impossible for these ingredients to be sufficiently dosed.

Therefore, it’s unlikely that the Metabolic Greens Plus formula contains sufficiently dosed ingredients, meaning that the benefits that the brand claims the formula will provide is put into question.

Metabolic Greens Plus Reviews

Metabolic Greens Plus is available on Amazon, and there are just over eighty reviews of the formula on there, with the formula coming out with an average score of 3.9 stars out of 5 stars, which isn’t great! It’s going to be interesting to look at the reasons why people scored this formula so low.

So, let’s get to it and take a look at a selection of the Metabolic Greens Plus reviews on Amazon.

Help lose weight, satisfied with the product, lost weight.5-star review

The taste is odd so you have to be careful what you mix it in to drink. However, it does not dissolve even in hot drinks so leaves a layer of powdery film in your mouth. Not sure if it does what it says it does didn't drink enough to find out due to the film problem.2-star review

I used this product daily for 3 weeks. Unlike the claim of “no side effects”, I experienced lots of bloating and an embarrassing amount of gas. Yet, no weight loss occurred. Having experienced no good results, I was very, very disappointed and would not recommend this to anyone.1-star review

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Pure Health Research offers an AWESOME 365-day money-back guarantee, which is good to see!

It's very rare that we see such long money-back guarantees. Only my SuperGreen TONIK brand and Yuri Energy Greens offer 1-year guarantees!

Where to buy Metabolic Greens Plus?

You can buy Metabolic Greens Plus from the Pure Health Research website and on Amazon.

Is It Worth The Price?

Metabolic Greens Plus is sold in tubs that contain 30 servings of formula, and there are a variety of cost options available.

If you buy one tub, on a one-time purchase, the formula costs $49, meaning the cost per serving works out at $1.63. You can save 10% by signing up for a subscription, meaning the cost per serving would work out at $1.47.

You can also save money by purchasing a three-bottle batch and a six-bottle batch.
The cost per serving of the three-bottle batch costs $1.30.
The cost per serving of the six-bottle batch costs $1.10.

Due to the fact that the formula is made up of proprietary blends and most likely contains insufficiently dosed ingredients, I don’t think it’s worth any of the prices that the brand is selling it at.

The Bottom Line

Unfortunately, I’m really not impressed by the Metabolic Greens Plus formula, and I wouldn’t choose to purchase it. The main issue for me is the fact that the company has complaints against it and doesn’t seem transparent, which is only emphasized by the use of proprietary blends in the formula, which are always a huge no from me anyway.

Not one aspect of the formula is positive in my eyes, from the bad taste and lack of side effect information to the negative reviews and the insufficiently dosed ingredients. Honestly, I think the only positive to this formula is the fact that the brand offers a 365-day money-back guarantee, but there have been complaints from customers saying they got scammed (we don't know the full story here).

There are so many better super greens formulas on the market that have fully disclosed labels, or at least come from trusted, transparent brands. So, my advice would be to look elsewhere!
