Total Gut Health Review

Onnit Total Gut Health Review

Onnit Total Gut Health is a capsule supplement produced by Onnit that’s supposed to help break down food, boost the immune system, promote healthy gut flora, and more.

Within one packet of Onnit Total Gut Health, there are five different types of capsules, each containing a unique blend of ingredients that provide different benefits to the consumer.

Total Gut Health is also suitable for many people since it’s dairy-free, soy-free, caffeine-free, vegan, and keto.

Onnit is one of the most popular supplement companies on the market, and Total Gut Health is one of the brand’s best-sellers. Therefore, I’m keen to look at it to see if it is as good as people say it is.

What is Onnit Total Gut Health?

Onnit is a well-known and incredibly popular supplement brand, and it shows when you take a look at the brand’s site.

The website is super professional, with a wide range of impressive-looking products and a vast amount of informative content.

Onnit’s Total Gut Health also looks impressive. There’s a substantial amount of information about it and its benefits, and there’s even a video embedded into the product page.

The only thing I’m concerned about is the fact that each serving of the supplement is 7 capsules.

Onnit Total Gut Health Ingredients

Onnit Total Gut Health consists of five capsules that contain different ingredients and provide different benefits. Although there are proprietary blends within these capsules, most of the units and amounts of ingredients within this formula are disclosed.

This makes it simple to work out whether the capsules are effective or not. However, I’ll look more closely at the formula's efficacy later in this review.

First, let’s take a look at the ingredients list.

How does Onnit Total Gut Health Taste?

Because Onnit Total Gut Health is a capsule supplement, no taste is associated with it.

Side Effects

There are no side effect warnings associated with Onnit Total Gut Health.

However, Onnit does warn those who are pregnant, nursing, and those who have a medical condition or are taking any medications to consult a doctor before consumption.

Does Onnit Total Gut Health Work?

The Onnit Total Gut Health ingredients label is a little complicated since there are five different types of capsules (7 capsules) that you have to take in total. So, there are a lot of ingredients on the ingredients list!

However, not to worry, we can still try and work out the efficacy of the capsules!

Although there are several proprietary blends within the capsules, the amount of nearly every ingredient within them is disclosed.

So, let’s take a look at the ingredients within these capsules that have standard recommended doses.

Looking at the DigesTech capsules, the digestive enzyme blend within the formula weighs 540mg, and most digestive enzyme supplements weigh in at 500mg.

Therefore, this is a substantial dosed blend.

The recommended dose of ginger is 120 mg; since there is 125mg in the formula, this is sufficiently dosed too.

The ingredients that have standard recommended doses seem to be sufficiently dosed.

Looking at the Prebiotic capsules, there is 900mg of Jerusalem artichoke within the formula and since the recommended dose is 600mg, it’s also sufficiently dosed.

There’s 600mg of dandelion extract in the formula, and the recommended dose sits between 500 – 1000mg, therefore that’s substantially dosed too!

Overall, the ingredients that do have standard recommended doses in the capsules actually do seem to be sufficiently dosed. Therefore, they may provide the benefits associated with them.

Onnit Total Gut Health Reviews

Although there’s no shortage of customer reviews on the Onnit website, Onnit Total Gut Health is available on Amazon and therefore, we can take a look on there to see customer reviews that are more likely to be unbiased and honest.

Overall on Amazon, there are 659 customer reviews and the supplement scores an overall rating of 4.7 stars out of 5 stars.

So, let’s take a look at some of these reviews!

I have been dealing with gut issues for almost 5 months now that have left Dr’s making me feel crazy because through tests and everything I appear to be “fine”. I’ve been taking Total Gut Health for a week now and have notice significant changes already. I was hesitant to try at first because of all the word on the reviews about it causing severe stomach pains, but I take it during my biggest meal (dinner) and have had no experience with these pains. Thanks Onnit for an all star product that’s literally saving my guts!5-star review

Not sure that I can tell a whole lot of difference from taking these versus the other types of probiotics that are usually take. I definitely feel this Onnit product is overpriced, though.3-star review

Not impressed with this product at all…expensive and ineffective, plus you got to swallow down a whole handful of pills daily…a must miss of epic proportions!1-star review

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Onnit doesn’t offer a standard money-back guarantee or return policy. Instead, the company asks that you try out the product you purchased from them for at least two weeks to see if you benefit from it.

If you’re unhappy with it after this time, you may qualify for a refund, but they will still allow you to keep the product.

This “Keep-It” guarantee is redeemable for only a first-time product purchase and lasts 90-days from the purchase date.

Where to buy Onnit Total Gut Health Complex?

You can buy Onnit Total Gut Health from the Onnit website, from Amazon.

Is It Worth The Price?

Onnit offers two different purchase options – a 15 packet serving (one box) and a 30 packet serving (two boxes).

You can also either purchase either of these on a one-time purchase or on a subscription option.

To keep it simple, since the majority of supplements on the market are sold in 30 serving packets/bottles, we will take a look at the price of the box that contains 30 packets of Onnit Total Gut Health.

On a one-time purchase, a 30-serving box costs $75.90. This works out at a cost per serving of $2.53.

On a subscription, a 30-serving box costs $64.52. Therefore, this works out at a cost per serving of $2.15.

Although I don’t think this is overly expensive since the majority of the ingredients within each packet are disclosed and there’s a wide range of ingredients, it is much more expensive than other probiotics and gut-health supplements on the market.

Frankly, I don’t know whether I’d pay this amount of money for a supplement that forces me to take 7 capsules just to get a proper serving.

Total Gut Health: Verdict

I have to say that I’m actually impressed by the fact that Onnit Total Gut Health contains sufficiently dosed ingredients and, therefore, most likely provides the benefits associated with it.

However, I have some concerns over this supplement, which leads to why I wouldn’t purchase it.

My main concern is that the serving size of this supplement is seven capsules.

This is a lot of capsules to take all at once every single day, and whilst that may not bother some people, it seems a shame that there’s not a powdered form that you could make into a drink and consume easily.

My other concern is the price of the supplement.

Although I don’t think it’s overly expensive, there are other gut health supplements on the market that also have disclosed labels and contain sufficiently dosed ingredients.

Therefore, I’m not sure why you would pay such a premium for this supplement.

Overall, if you really want to purchase Total Gut Health, go for it. However, if you don’t want to take seven capsules a day or pay such a premium, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
