September 2020 Monthly Update

It’s that time of the month where I reflect on how last month went regarding investments, business, and personal goals.

Apart from a little crypto-trading, I have not made too much attention to investments, instead choosing to focus more on the business.

The last month I have been busy getting my business in shape for 2021. This is going to be big and I am looking to 2-3x my business by getting socials, websites, emails, paid traffic, and influencers on board. It’s been a great month!

I will talk about this, but first, let’s kick off with how my investments have been doing in September 2020.

Investment Portfolio Update

Overall with the movement shares down, crypto up, and metals a little down, I am down from last month.

The reason for my net worth decreasing by 2-3 percent this month is mostly due to the decrease in my stocks.

Overall, I am seeing my net worth down 3% from last month.

SaxoSelect Go Trading Account

More losses this month with shares that I hold. Recent shares like Microsoft and PayPal and in the green, but most in the red.

I made the mistake of checking over shares that I owned earlier in the year and sold off prematurely due to concern over the stock market in May/June time.

Two, in particular, have rocketed up 3-4x the price that I sold at. Obviously, I can make this call with the power of hindsight. I can see why now that once you sell a particular stock it’s best not to look at it again.

On the positive side though, I did get some dividend payments this month.

With my $10k USD allocated budget to trading cryptocurrencies, I bought more altcoins this month.

These included XRP, LTC, DOT, LINK, XLM, and ALGO. I also topped up my Bitcoin holding a little too.

I made a $1k profit in August from trading LTC and DOT, but due to the price action not going in the direction I wanted I only traded DOT realizing a tiny $700 profit that I reinvested again into more DOT coins.

Overall, I am in profit for my cryptocurrency holdings, but not selling the majority at the moment as holding until we see big price movements in the next 1-2 years.

Art of FX – Steady Growth

The account is up 1.34% this month, making it 12% up for the year-to-date. It’s on track to give around a 15% return for 2020, which I can’t complain about.

Since investing with Aft of FX in May 2018 my account is up 39%, so happy days.

Gold and Silver

I continue to hold onto both my Gold and Silver bullion and see this as a longer-term hedge against currency depreciation.

Gold saw some pull-back this month, even still since I started investing in 2017 I am up 53% – in hindsight happy that I went against some of my friends’ advice and investing in physical gold!

I choose to use BullionStar a bullion vault storage company based in Singapore. You can even visit your bullion if you so wish!

Goal Progress for September 2020

I have been working on improving my daily step count in the latter half of September. My goal is to consistently hit an average of 10k steps per day.

When living in London this was fairly easy, we would walk most places and didn’t own a car. Living in a hot climate like Malaysia, you end up owning a car, and walking from place to place can be uncomfortable.

By making small changes to my routine I have managed to squeeze in some extra steps. I am walking from my kid’s school to my office most mornings now (approximately 2,000 steps), and living work a little earlier and walking around the grounds in the condo (2-2,500 steps).

Unboxing the Oura ring

The habit I am struggling with is my sleep though.

My attempts to get a consistent 7-hours each day have failed (measured by my oura ring).

Worse still, I am struggling to sleep 2-3 nights each week now, which means I get 4-5 hours on these nights.

My goal at the end of October is to re-balance my sleep habit and increase the number of hours slept.

September 2020 Summary

It’s been a stellar month for my greens supplement brand, SuperGreen TONIK! In fact, the best month so far.

This has been down to releasing a new website, more re-orders, and a few other tweaks to emails and pop-ups, etc. The biggest change has been from the new home page though.

I am committing myself to run 1-2 A/B split tests each month on the site to continually test and improve not just conversions but the customer experience too. I will do a post on this soon.

I have also started Pinterest for my SuperGreen TONIK brand and had professional photos taken – these really look awesome!

I have re-invested a good amount back into the business this month to generate more content for socials and will be releasing an update soon for an exciting competition.

So, it’s all systems go, and now getting prepared for 2021 where I am looking to make this a 7-figure brand.

Starting a supplement brand from scratch has been a roller-coaster of a ride. There have been great moments coupled with frustration and uncertainly, all part of the journey… and it’s just the start!

So, that’s it for now. I wish everyone all the best!
