Superfood Tabs Review: Benefits, Drawbacks, And Comparison

Superfood Tabs, previously called Skinny Tabs, is a tablet superfood supplement! Unlike other powdered supplements that I typically review, this formula sits in a tablet that weighs just over 400mg.

However, the brand claims that just one Superfood Tab and you’ve consumed 15 superfoods.

Since being released to the world in 2018, the tablets have become increasingly popular in the weight loss world, and during this time the product has collected over 9,000+ customer reviews!

Curious as to whether these tablets can actually help you lose weight or if they’re just a fake marketing ploy, I’m keen to take a closer look at Superfood Tabs and see what they’re made of.

If you’re thinking about purchasing these tablets or you’re keen to take a closer look too and figure out if they’re legit or packed with lies, check out my full Superfood Tabs review below.

What are Superfood Tabs?

Straight away, I feel wary of the brand. Although the product page (on superfoodscompany.com or skinnytabs.com) is bright and vibrant, it’s also very pushy and in your face. As soon as I’m hit with the words ‘fizz, drink, drop pant sizes’ I’m put off the product.

Although I love a good amount of information on a product page, this is intense! There’s information everywhere, spliced together with ‘buy now’ buttons and rave customer reviews, and it goes on and on and on!

Looking at the product, I’m still feeling wary – I’m honestly very unsure how a tablet that dissolves can be the key to losing weight within weeks.

I’m very much looking forward to taking a closer look at this formula to see if it really is unrealistic, or if I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Background on Skinny Tabs/Superfood Company

Based in Austin, Texas, Superfood Tabs were up until recently produced by the company Skinny Tabs. However, after several complaints and the lowest score possible being associated with the company on the Better Business Bureau, the company has now changed names, to Superfood Company.

This is a real concern and suggests that rather than properly dealing with the company issues, the company decided to just rebrand and hope for the best!

Overall, the company isn’t really a trusted one, which makes buying a product from them very difficult to encourage.

Superfood Tabs Benefits

The brand states that the Superfood Tabs are specifically formulated to help the consumer lose weight, which is their main purpose of them!

The tabs are supposed to do this by boosting energy levels, reducing cravings, improving metabolism, and improving the digestion system.

The brand actually provides information about each individual ingredient within the tabs too, giving information about the health benefits that derive from each ingredient – this is a nice touch!

For example,

Wheatgrass promotes a healthy digestive system. Boosts your metabolism and helps lower bad cholesterol.

Superfood Tabs Ingredients

The Superfood Tabs formula contains more than 15 potent ingredients, including fruits, vegetables, herbal extracts, and algae!

Unfortautnely though, all of the ingredients exist within a proprietary blend, meaning the efficacy of the formula is incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to figure out.

Nonetheless, more about that later on in the review. First, let’s take a look at the ingredients within the tabs!

Here is the complete list of Superfood Tabs ingredients:

  • Proprietary Blend (400mg) – Elderberry Extract, Beet Root, Green Tea Leaf Extract (40 Mg Caffeine), Matcha Tea Leaf (Camilia Sinensis), Burdock Root 4:1 Extract, Ginger Root 5:1 Extract, Dandelion 5:1 Extract (Whole Plant), Lemon Balm 4:1 Extract (Aerial Parts), Milk Thistle Seed Extract, Asian Ginseng Root, Lycium (Goji) Berry Fruit 5:1 Extract, Pomegranate Fruit, Aloe Vera Inner Leaf Juice Powder, Wheat Grass, Chlorella Algae.
  • Other Ingredients – Citric Acid, Natural Flavors, L-leucine, Rebaudioside A, Hydroxypropyl Cellulose, Silica, and Magnesium Stearate.

How does Supefood Tabs Taste?

The Superfood tabs are flavored and sweetened so that they have a berry flavor, and the reviews concerning the taste of the formula are very positive!

However, the downside is that people say the tabs can take up to 15 minutes to become fully dissolved, which isn’t ideal if you’re wanting a quick superfood fix!

Side Effects

The brand warns that pregnant or nursing women, people under 18 years old, and those with medical conditions should consult a medical professional before consuming the tabs.

In addition, the brand also warns about the caffeine that exists within the tabs, saying that it may cause “insomnia, nervousness and restlessness, stomach irritation, nausea and vomiting, increased heart rate and respiration, and other side effects”.

Although obviously no one wants to experience these side effects, I do applaud the fact that the company has been transparent with potential side effects and added warnings.

Does Superfood Tabs Work?

Superfood Tabs does have some impressive ingredients, but unfortunately, all of these ingredients exist within a proprietary blend that only weighs 400mg.

This is a tiny, tiny serving, and immediately it’s clear to me that the ingredients within this formula are not sufficiently dosed.

For example, some of the ingredients within the formula have much higher standard recommended doses than the amount of the entire blend.

It’s clear to me that the ingredients within this formula are not sufficiently dosed.

For example, the recommended dose of wheatgrass is 3g, the recommended dose of chlorella is 2g, and the recommended dose of milk thistle extract is 420mg.

Therefore, it’s obvious that with an entire blend totaling 400mg, the ingredients within the blend are not sufficiently dosed. Therefore, the formula may not provide the benefits that the brand claims it will.

The issue of ingredient dosing is a common issue I find when looking at superfood supplement in capsules/tablets, and it's the reason why I prefer powders over capsules/tablets.

Superfood Tabs Reviews

Superfood Tabs are sold on Amazon and there are over 4,500 customer reviews on there – clearly, this product has been popular since launching!

Overall, the formula has been awarded 4 stars out of 5 stars by customer reviews.

However, it’s useful to take a look at a range of individual reviews, rather than just the overall rating. So, let’s take a look at a selection of product reviews!

I am so happy I found this product!! I used to have really bad stomach problems and always felt bloated. Now, I drink it every morning and feel amazing!! My stomach has never been flatter and I’m down a full pant size! I also love the taste, and it makes me drink more water so I’m always hydrated. I will definitely be a lifetime customer!! Thank you Skinnytabs. 5-star reviewer

Ok, so I am still hopeful about this product. I am 3 days in, and I can’t say that it has curbed my appetite, however, I will say that it makes me go to the bathroom more often, so I guess it really does release toxins. One thing that I really do not like is that the tablets take forever to dissolve! At least 10-15 min. So it’s definitely not something you can drink right away. Also, the taste is very bland, but it is drinkable.
3-star reviewer

This product does NOT work. Gave me massive migraines and did not decrease my cravings. If anything, it INCREASED them! Total waste of (a ton of) money. Extremely dissatisfied! And, they delete any bad comments or reactions on Facebook, so pretty deceptive company as a whole! 1-star reviewer

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

The company does have a 30-day money-back guarantee, but there are lots and lots of regulations and rules that you have to adhere to in order to quality for a refund.

In addition, this refund only applies to people that purchase the tabs on a one-time purchase.

Where to buy Superfood Tabs?

You can buy Superfood tabs from the Skinnytabs/Superfood Company website, or from Amazon.

Is It Worth The Price?

The Superfood Tabs are sold in different packs, including the ‘Starter’ pack that contains 30 servings, the ‘Kickstart’ pack that contains 60 servings, and the ‘Ultimate’ pack that contains 90 servings.

You can either choose to purchase these packs on a one-time purchase or on a subscription. The brand clearly encourages people to sign up for a subscription by providing savings between 36% – 58%.

However, apparently, subscription options are very difficult to cancel once signed up!

Anyway, let’s take a look at the different prices of the tabs.

The 30 servings pack costs $79.95 on a one-time purchase, working out at a cost per serving of $2.67.

On a subscription option, the same pack costs $54.95, meaning the cost per serving is $1.83.

The pack that contains 90 servings costs $169.95 on a one-time purchase working out at a cost per serving of $1.88.

This pack on a subscription costs $119.85, meaning the cost per serving works out at $1.33.

Obviously, the subscription option offers a significant savings. However, regardless of which pack you choose to purchase or whether you choose to buy a pack on a one-time purchase on not, these tabs are incredibly expensive!

The tabs are highly unlikely to actually provide the consumer with benefits, and the company seems sneaky and shady, so these tabs are certainly not worth this price in my opinion.

You can buy a really high-quality superfood formula for these kinds of prices, so these tabs just aren’t worth it for me!

The Bottom Line

I’ll cut straight to the chase here – I would not buy, and would not recommend buying Superfood Tabs. If you’re looking to lose weight, you need to be mindful of the food that you’re putting in your body and you need to exercise.

Taking a tablet per day of underdosed superfood ingredients will not provide you with the results that you’re looking for.

In addition, the insanely small 400mg proprietary blend within this formula doesn’t contain sufficiently dosed ingredients, and therefore it’s almost pointless to take these tablets for nutritional intake too!

My opinion is to look elsewhere!

If you’re looking for the benefits of nutritional superfoods, you have to choose a good quality superfood formula, not a tablet that contains a blend of 15 ingredients and equals 400mg!

  1. I don’t agree with everything said in this article! The tabs take 4 mins to dissolve max, but that’s only if you put them in ice-cold water. Superfoods company says to put the tabs in room-temperature water, then add ice. So people are probably just not following the guides per usual.

If you want something to work, you have to do it right.

These tabs have been amazing for me! I’ve lost 15 lbs in 2 months. I love the flavors and bring them with me everywhere I go.

If you have any doubts then check out the reviews on their website and the facebook community group. It seriously works!!

    1. Hi Elizabeth,
You would need to contact the company directly as we have not related to them. There should be somewhere on their website where you can stop the auto-shipments.

  3. Thanks for the information. It is truly hard to fit the right product that fits your needs.
I’m searching for a protein powder that helps with cravings, weight lose, no sugar and contains essential vitamins.

  4. Thank you for taking time to give all the information. I certainly had my concerns about Skinny Fit myself. First off weigh loss should not be dropping off of you like they were describing. I don’t eat any meat at all and watch my carbs and portions. I’m 5’1 weighing in at 107 from 135. Looking for something to help keep it off. Because we can’t go to gyms due to Covid. This product will not be purchased by me. I always do a search on any product I purchase.
    Sincerely
    Kim

  5. Thank you for this article. I wanted more information because this seemed sketchy. Again thanks for saving me some heartache and time.

  6. I agree, did not do any of the claims they make! Complete waste of money and watch out for their 30 day money back guarantee, they count it from the time you order! One would think 30 days usually would be from for example 5/30 to 6/30. Watch out and counts those days…better yet DON’T waste your money!
