SuperGreen TONIK vs 8 Greens

SuperGreen Tonik vs 8 Greens

Since launching my super greens formula, SuperGreen Tonik, I have been inundated with requests to compare the formula with others on the market. So, here I am doing just that.

I will review and compare my formula against some of the most popular super greens formulas out there in a totally unbiased, third-party way, seeing if what I’ve created really does stand up to some of the most hyped-up formulas on the market.

In this article, I will compare SuperGreen Tonik to 8 Greens.

8 Greens is a popular superfood supplement with a stand-alone selling point – it’s not a formula, it’s an effervescent tablet!

If you’re trying to determine which product to choose, you’re interested in reading honest reviews about either of these products, or you’re just a regular reader of my blog, please join me in comparing SuperGreen Tonik with 8 Greens.

Supergreen Tonik review

SuperGreen Tonik is a super greens formula containing 15 of the most potent ingredients in the world. I created this formula to provide me with the daily dosage of nutrition I needed.

I knew how much I needed a nutrient-dense super greens formula, especially as someone that suffered from chronic fatigue syndrome when my children came into the world.

I created this formula with one goal – to be the ultimate fuel for the body and mind.

SuperGreen Tonik is growing exponentially and is always receiving great feedback from customers searching for a transparent, fully disclosed super greens formula. If I do say so myself, it is one of a kind.

Pros

  • Contains 16 superfood ingredients and 18 vitamins/minerals
  • Fully transparent ingredients label
  • 365-day money-back guarantee

Cons

  • Not the cheapest formuala

What is 8 Greens?

8 Greens Superfood Tablets

8 Greens is a popular super greens brand founded by Dawn Russel. Dawn Russel is an American aristocrat and a cancer survivor, founding the brand after turning to natural wellness supplements to help her get through cancer treatment.

8 Greens is a different kind of super greens brand because the formula isn’t actually a powder you mix into water. Instead, 8 Greens is a formula within an effervescent tablet that you drop into the water and consume.

The brand mainly markets towards people that don’t like consuming super greens formulas due to the taste or the preparation time. The 8 Greens tablets contain 8 super greens ingredients, such as spinach, wheatgrass, and kale, but the brand says it’s an easy and tasty way to get these greens without the grassy taste.

The brand has become a huge success, which can be linked to Dawn Russel’s A-list friends, such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Zac Efron promoting the brand.

Pros

  • Variety of flavors available
  • Over 2,000 positive real customer reviews
  • Easy to take as effervescent tablets

Cons

  • Made of proprietary blends (no fully disclosed list of ingredients)
  • Small serving size, ingredients under-dosed
  • Not the most affordable

SuperGreen Tonik Vs. 8 Greens Benefits

SuperGreen Tonik

There’s an array of incredibly potent ingredients in SuperGreen Tonik, and therefore there’s a selection of impressive health benefits.

There’s a massive amount of information about the formula’s benefits on the Supergreen Tonik website, with information about not only the formula as a whole but specific information about each individual ingredient within the formula.

SuperGreen Tonik contains three blends that target different areas of wellness. Overall, the formula is supposed to increase energy levels, boost the immune system, reduce stress, increase mental clarity, aid with more restful sleep, and increase the body's overall wellness.

As mentioned above, the SuperGreen Tonik site also has a dedicated page for ingredients and shows health benefits for each ingredient. For example, “Barley grass is rich in several nutrients and may promote weight loss, enhance heart health, and support better blood sugar control”.

8 Greens

8 Greens provides customers with much less information about the formula’s benefits than SuperGreen TONIK does.

Instead of talking about the health benefits that derive from each ingredient, or even supplying the consumer with information about the benefits of the formula as a whole, 8 greens gives more information about vitamins and minerals.

However, the brand still hasn’t actually provided that much information about health benefits with regards to vitamins and minerals. Instead, the brand says things like, “Rich in antioxidants, vitamin A, calcium, iron”, but never explains what these minerals and vitamins can provide the consumer with.

The brand seems to assume that all potential customers know about nutrition, but they should never assume this, especially if wanting to sell to a wide audience.

Overall, after doing some digging, the 8 Greens formula is supposed to aid with weight loss, boost the immune system, increase energy levels, and promote healing.

SuperGreen Tonik Vs 8 Greens Ingredients

SuperGreen Tonik

Although I’ve been speaking about SuperGreen Tonik as if it’s not my supplement throughout the whole review, I have to jump in here and tell you about the ingredients.

As you probably all know from my reviews and blog posts, I hate nothing in the supplement world more than proprietary blends.

Proprietary blends show no brand transparency and make it impossible for consumers to know what they’re actually consuming, so I ensured that my formula didn’t contain any.

Instead, I made sure that SuperGreen Tonik has a fully disclosed ingredients label and contains the correct amount of every single ingredient so that health benefits actually occur.

Every single ingredient within the SuperGreen Tonik formula is shown on the ingredients label, and with a generous serving size of 12g, there’s no doubt you are receiving sufficient amounts of each ingredient.

For example, I usually look at spirulina when checking out ingredient lists because it’s a common super greens ingredient. The daily recommended dosage of spirulina sits between 1-3g, and there’s 2g in SuperGreen TONIK, meaning it doesn’t just reach the minimum recommended dosage but meets it sufficiently.

Supergreen TONIK full disclosure labelling

8 Greens

The 8 Greens formula contains 18 ingredients, with 8 of these being super greens ingredients, hence the product name. The 8 Greens tablets are vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and made from non-GMO ingredients.

Unfortunately, although you can see some impressive ingredients on the 8 Greens ingredients list label, they all exist within a proprietary blend.

Whenever I look at supplements, I’m always hoping that I don’t see proprietary blends because they make it difficult for me to appreciate a formula.

Proprietary blends are such a nightmare because it makes it impossible for the consumer to see how much of each ingredient they're actually consuming, and it’s impossible to work out if the ingredients have actually been added at a sufficient level for health benefits to occur.

However, that’s not the only problem I see when looking at the 8 Greens ingredients list.

One tablet is 4.6g, which is an incredibly small serving size, and therefore it’s unlikely that any of the ingredients are sufficiently weighted to provide a suitable amount of nutrition and health benefits.

The only saving grace is that the brand's recommended daily serving isn’t dead-set, saying consumers can take up to 3 tablets daily.

SuperGreen Tonik Vs 8 Greens Taste

SuperGreen Tonik

Although SuperGreen Tonik isn’t labeled as a specific flavor, flavoring ingredients make the formula more palatable.

SuperGreen Tonik is flavored using natural flavors and sweetened using stevia leaf extract, with a big focus on the taste of the formula.

The commitment taken to make the formula taste pleasant has paid off, with customers really appreciating the taste, remarking that it’s minty and refreshing.

The formula also mixes well, doesn’t produce a gritty texture when mixed, and it’s easily consumed simply with water.

Pouring SuperGreen TONIK drink

8 Greens

Unlike SuperGreen Tonik, 8 Greens isn’t a super greens formula that you add to water or put into shakes or smoothies. Instead, 8 Greens are effervescent tablets. So, you add a tablet to water, wait for the formula to be released into the water and then you drink.

8 Greens tablets are available in various flavors – Lemon Lime, Melon, and Blood Orange. These tablets are flavored using citric acid, sorbitol, natural flavors, corn starch, safflower oil, and stevia leaf extract.

It seems a shame that the brand has used sorbitol (sugar alcohol) to sweeten the formula more instead of just upping the amount of stevia leaf extract.

However, taste reviews of this product are good. Most people find the formula refreshing and pleasant, but some find it too sweet.

SuperGreen Tonik Vs 8 Greens Cost

SuperGreen Tonik

One of the only downsides to the SuperGreen Tonik formula is that it’s a little more expensive than other formulas, but not by much, especially because it has a fully disclosed label.

One 30-serving tub of SuperGreen Tonik costs $87. This works out at a cost per serving of $2.90.

If you purchase a bundle of SuperGreen Tonik, you can receive a discount. For example, you can save 30% if you buy the saver 6 tub bundle. This bundle costs $377, meaning the cost per serving per tub is $63. This works out at a cost per serving of $2.06.

8 Greens

8 Greens is much cheaper than SuperGreen Tonik, but the serving size is much smaller.

One tube of 8 Greens contains 10 tablets, and this tube costs $14. Therefore, this works out at a cost per serving (one tablet), of $1.40.

The brand also offers discounts depending on the amount you purchase- the more you buy, the more significant discount you get. You can also receive a discount for signing up for a subscription.

For example, if you choose to order 6 tubes and you subscribe to receiving the products regularly, the cost per serving works out at $1.00.

SuperGreen Tonik Vs 8 Greens: Which is Better?

Although 8 Greens has some really positive customer reviews, it’s endorsed by some of the biggest names in Hollywood and it does contain some potent super greens ingredients, I can’t get past the proprietary blend formula and the tiny serving size.

There’s not enough evidence that actually backs up that the 8 Greens formula provides health benefits for the consumer, and honestly, I find it quite gimmicky.

SuperGreen Tonik might be a bit more expensive than 8 Greens, but for a fully disclosed label with ingredients that meet daily recommended doses and provide an array of health benefits, it’s clear to me that it’s the winner.
