SuperGreen TONIK vs Balance of Nature (BoN)

Supergreen Tonik vs Balance of Nature

I have been asked to compare my Supergreen Tonik formula with Balance of Nature Pills.

It’s going to be really interesting to compare a brand that has been in the market for over two decades with my own and see how superfood pills compare with a super greens formula.

Whether pills can provide the same amount of nutrition as formulas has been highly contested, so I’m keen to look for some answers.

Whether you’re wondering to choose Balance of Nature Pills, you’re eager to learn a bit about each product, or you’re a regular reader of Lifehackerguy, join me in comparing these two formulas.

Let’s dive right in and look at Supergreen Tonik Vs. Balance of Nature Pills below.

What is SuperGreen Tonik?

Supergreen TONIK and glass

Supergreen Tonik, founded by myself, is a super greens formula packed with superfood ingredients that provide consumers a wide range of health benefits.

As someone that used to be an athlete and as someone that suffers from chronic fatigue syndrome, I have always had an interesting relationship with nutrition and I always yearned to see a super greens formula on the market with a fully disclosed ingredients list that actually worked.

So, I created Supergreen Tonik, and it’s clear that I wasn’t the only one looking for a formula like this!

Trying to sound as unbiased as possible, I really don’t think that there’s a super greens formula on the market that’s like Super Green Tonik, and with positive consumer reviews and the brand only growing exponentially, it’s clear I’m not the only one that thinks that.

Pros

  • Fully disclosed ingredients label
  • 15 superfood ingredients and 18 vitamins/minerals
  • 365 money-back guarantee

Cons

  • Not the cheapest on the market

What is Balance of Nature?

Balance of Nature Fruits and Veggies

Balance of Nature, founded over two decades ago, is a health and wellness brand specializing in creating capsule superfood formulas. The fruit and veggie pills are the most sold on the website, and the brand claims that you will receive all the nutrition you need from consuming them.

As well as producing superfood pills, the brand offers customers health coaching when they sign up to the website and subscribe to products, adding a different element, not many supplement brands provide.

The fruit and veggie pills contain potent ingredients, but it’s been long contested whether pills will actually provide as much nutrition as superfood formulas, so it’s going to be intriguing comparing them to my own powdered super greens formula!

Pros

  • No superfood grassy taste – capsules!
  • Been on the market for over 20 years

Cons

  • Ingredients are within a proprietary blend (no fully disclosed list of ingredients)
  • Insufficient amount of ingredients
  • Fairly costly

SuperGreen Tonik Vs Balance of Nature Pills Benefits

SuperGreen Tonik

Always wanting to maintain transparency with customers, there’s an array of information about the health benefits of SuperGreen TONIK on the brand’s website.

There’s not only information about the SuperGreen Tonik formula as a whole but also about the health benefits associated with each specific ingredient within the formula.

Overall, the SuperGreen Tonik formula provides an energy boost, increases immunity, reduces stress levels, increases mental clarity, helps with more restful sleep, and increases the body's overall wellness. The formula is also supposed to act as daily nutritional insurance.

As mentioned above, SuperGreen TONIK has also provided information about the specific health benefits of each ingredient in the formula. For example, “Moringa has been used for thousands of years. Along with other health benefits, it may also have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects and protect against arsenic toxicity”.

Balance of Nature Pills

Unfortunately, Balance of Nature has not provided much information about the health benefits consumers might get from consuming the Balance of Nature Fruit and Veggie pills.

Unlike SuperGreen TONIK, which has an informative section of the website dedicated to the ingredients in the formula and the health benefits that derive from them, all we get from Balance of Nature is “Feel & Be Your Best” – not very informative, to say the least!

There's nothing even when you look at the product details for the fruit and veggie pills!

After trawling the entire Balance of Nature website, the only other bit of content that might resemble in some way health benefits information is, “kick blah to the curb – “blah” prevents you from doing the things you enjoy with the people you love. What’s your blah?”.

Honestly, I have no idea what “blah” is or how this is supposed to be a useful or informative sentence, but it’s the closest to health benefit information I can find.

SuperGreen Tonik Vs Balance of Nature Pills Ingredients

SuperGreen Tonik

Although I’m trying to talk about the SuperGreen Tonik formula like it’s not my own, I feel compelled to tell you about the ingredients within the formula because they’re essentially why it works so well.
When I realized that I wanted to create a super greens formula, I decided that I would give people exactly what they were looking for and, unfortunately missing out on the super greens formulas available at the time – a formula with a fully disclosed ingredients label.

Therefore, that’s exactly what I did! The SuperGreen Tonik ingredients label is pretty much bulletproof. Not only are all of the ingredients within the formula properly weighted, but the ingredients label is fully transparent.

This means that the consumer can figure out how much of each ingredient they’re consuming and determine if the formula will provide health benefits (spoiler, it will).

I use the example of spirulina a lot when looking at ingredient labels, so I’m not going to change that for my product. The daily recommended dosage of spirulina is between 1-3g, and there’s 2g of spirulina in SuperGreen Tonik. Therefore, this hits the minimum recommended dosage and sits right in the middle of it.

Unfortunately, not all superfood supplements show transparency in their ingredients list, as we will see when looking at the Balance of Nature pills.

Supergreen TONIK full disclosure labelling

Balance of Nature Pills

Balance of Nature pills is marketed as the perfect way to consume 16 servings of fruit and 15 servings of vegetables. Firstly, this many sufficiently weighted servings can’t fit inside 2.4g capsules, so we can safely say this statement isn’t actually true.

I think what the brand is trying to say is that there are many ingredients within these pills, not that there are many sufficient servings of these ingredients.

Although the ingredients on these ingredient lists are potent and can cause some pretty impressive health benefits, they will only do so when a sufficient amount is consumed.

However, the consumer will never know how much ingredient exists within these pills because all ingredients are within a proprietary blend.

Proprietary blends make it impossible for the consumer to not only see how much of each ingredient they’re consuming, but it also takes away the consumer’s ability to figure out if the formula will actually work and provide the health benefits the brand claims it will.

Balance of Nature Fruits and Veggies Supplement Facts

SuperGreen Tonik Vs Balance of Nature Pills Taste

SuperGreen Tonik

Although SuperGreen Tonik isn’t labeled as a specific flavor, flavoring ingredients make the formula palatable.

SuperGreen Tonik is flavored using natural flavors and sweetened using stevia leaf extract, with a big focus on the taste of the formula.

The commitment to make the formula taste pleasant has paid off, with customers really appreciating the taste, remarking that it’s minty and refreshing.

The formula also mixes well, doesn’t produce a gritty texture when mixed and it’s easily consumed simply with water.

Tasting greens powder

Balance of Nature Pills

The Balance of Nature Pills don’t taste like anything because they’re pills, so they can’t really be compared to the SuperGreen TONIK.

However, if you keep the pills in your mouth for too long before swallowing them, you can taste the grassy, not-very-pleasant flavor of the ingredients, even when it comes to the fruit pills!

Although if you take the pills quickly, you won’t be able to taste anything, and therefore this product may draw people in that don’t like the taste of superfood powders in water.

SuperGreen Tonik Vs Balance of Nature Pills Cost

SuperGreen Tonik

SuperGreen Tonik is a little more expensive than other super greens formulas on the market, but it does a fully disclosed ingredients label, so it’s not crazily expensive for what it is.

A 30-serving tub of SuperGreen Tonik, containing 360g of the formula, costs $87. This works out at cost per serving $2.90.

You can save money (up to 30% off) when you purchase the formula if you purchase a bundle pack. For example, the saver 5 tub bundle costs $327, meaning that each tub works out at $65. This means the cost per serving would work out at $2.16.

Although these costs per serving might seem expensive, most of the market's super greens formulas are around the same price point and contain proprietary blends, as we will see below…

Balance of Nature Pills

Balance of Nature Pills is available at different rates depending on what type of customer you are. You can be a ‘Preferred customer’ or a ‘Retail Customer’.

The difference is that ‘Preferred customers’ subscribe to receiving products and save money. In addition, they also have access to health coaching. ‘Retail customers’ pay normal prices and don’t buy into the health coaching program.

For ‘Preferred customers’, the cost for both fruits & veggies (30 day supply for each) is $69.95. This works out at a daily cost of $2.33.

For ‘Retail customers’, the price is much higher. For both fruits & veggies (30 days supply for each), it costs $89.95. This works out at a daily cost of $3.00.

This is much more expensive than most super greens formulas on the market, especially when these tablets don’t have fully disclosed ingredients labels. This is more expensive than SuperGreen TONIK unless you sign up as a ‘Preferred customer’.

SuperGreen Tonik Vs Balance of Nature Pills: Which is Better?

Honestly, after taking a closer look at the Balance of Nature Pills and comparing it to SuperGreen TONIK, I’m really surprised that this brand has had such success with selling them.

The Balance of Nature Pills are not only made from proprietary blends, but the brand makes completely false claims about the amount of fruit and vegetable servings within the pills.

I wouldn’t be tempted to purchase these pills – they might have been a hit when they first launched, but there are quite simply much better formulas on the market now.

This brings me to SuperGreen Tonik! SuperGreen Tonik doesn’t only has an array of positive customer reviews, a 365-day money-back guarantee, and a great taste, but most importantly it has a fully disclosed and transparent ingredients label.

In my eyes, there’s an absolutely clear winner of this comparison – SuperGreen Tonik takes the win!

  1. I take BoN and am frustrated by the lack of nutritional information. Of course, as you mentioned, many of the other products are lacking, too. Anyway, BoN does have fruits, which I do not find in other products.

I have wondered, as you do, how six capsules could contain ten servings. I believe they are the only one who freeze dries to dehydrate. The question is how much volume is reduced by that process. My thought has been that even if it is only five servings worth, it is more than I (or many others, I’m sure) normally consume daily. And my wife is a healthy meal preparer but I do not think we have ever had five servings at a single meal, let alone every meal.

I do like that there are fruits as well as veggies and grass. This keeps me loyal. I have not found anything else that has this combo. My fear is that they are a total fraud (based on the lack of nutritional info) and I am getting ripped off. I wish Consumers Report would do a thorough review (including a nutritional content analysis). I’d like to save money but, assuming their claims are true, I can find no convincing alternative (even yours) that is comparable.
