What is Terra Origins Greens Superfoods?

I’m really impressed by the Terra Origins website! Everything is sleek and professional, but with an aesthetic that definitely represents the Ayurvedic element of the brand.

There’s a tonne of informative content about both the products and the wellness and nutrition industry. I also really appreciate that you can shop by category or health benefit.

Looking at the Greens Superfoods formula, I’m still impressed, but the amount of information on the product page is slightly overwhelming – great to see though, nonetheless.

I look forward to taking a closer look at the formula to see if it really does live up to my expectations.

Background on Terra Origins

Terra Origins was founded in 2017 and is based in New York. The brand’s aim is to bridge the gap between modern science and ancient medicinal foods, with the brand’s ethos being heavily inspired by Ayurveda.

As well as the Green Superfoods being a popular product by the brand, its other best-sellers include the Leaky Gut Formula, Collagen Powder, and Digestive Enzyme capsules.

Terra Origins Greens Superfoods Benefits

There is an overwhelming amount of information provided by Terra Origins about the benefits of the Greens Superfood formula, so much so that it might be hard to decipher what the formula actually is supposed to do!

Overall, the formula is supposed to boost the immune system, promote energy levels, and improve stamina.

However, it’s also supposed to help attack any kind of disease, balance blood sugar, lower cholesterol, and manage high blood pressure.

The brand provides information about the specific ingredients associated with specific benefits too.

For example, “Bee Pollen Powder – Boosts the immune system, protects against free radicals, kills bacteria, anti-inflammatory improves nutrient absorption and is a rich source of flavonoids, polyphenols, and carotenoids”.

Terra Origins Greens Superfoods Ingredients

Terra Origins Greens Superfood contains over 45 individual ingredients.

The amounts of some of the ingredients within the blend are shown, but there are also three proprietary blends within the formula.

Since a proprietary blend does not disclose the amounts of the ingredients within it, this can make it incredibly difficult to figure out whether the formula will be effective or not.

However, more on the efficacy of the formula later.

First, let’s take a look at the formula’s ingredient label!

Here is the complete list of the Terra Origins Greens Superfoods ingredients:

How does Terra Origins Greens Superfoods Taste?

Terra Origins Greens Superfoods is available in either Coffee flavor or Mint flavor. Both types of formulas are naturally flavored and sweetened with stevia extract.

Reviews concerning the taste of the formula are extremely positive, especially for the coffee-flavored formula!

The only customers that don’t like the taste of the formula have complained about the fact that it tastes strongly of stevia. It's worth highlighting that often there are two choice for greens superfoods for improving the taste, either the use of natural sweeteners stevia leaf or monk fruit.

So, if you’re not a fan of stevia, this might not be a great tasting product for you!

Side Effects

Terra Origins actually doesn’t supply any information about who shouldn’t consume the Greens Superfoods formula.

However, I would suggest that the formula should not be consumed by anyone under 18, anyone pregnant, or anyone breastfeeding.

If you have a medical condition or you’re taking medication, I would suggest consulting a medical professional before consuming the formula.

Some consumers who are not familiar with greens powders may experience mild bloating.

Does Terra Origins Greens Superfoods Work?

Although some of the ingredients have their amounts disclosed within the formula, there are also proprietary blends present within the formula – so it’s a half disclosed ingredients label.

We can take a look at the ingredients that have their amounts disclosed to figure out whether they’re sufficiently dosed in comparison to their standard recommended doses.

However, since we can’t see the amounts of each ingredient that exist within proprietary blends, it’s much harder (impossible, if you want to be certain!) to figure out if they’re sufficiently dosed.

So, first, let’s take a look at a selection of the ingredients that are fully disclosed.

For example, spirulina! There is 1g of spirulina within the formula and the recommended dose of spirulina is 1-3g, meaning it is substantially dosed.

However, this seems to be the only greens ingredient that is sufficiently dosed.

The majority of the ingredients within the formula are not sufficiently dosed.

For example, there’s 500mg of wheatgrass in the formula but the recommended dose of wheatgrass is 3g, and there’s 250mg of chlorella in the formula but the recommended dose of chlorella is 2-5g.

Looking at ashwagandha, there’s 200mg in the formula and the recommended dose of ashwagandha is between 500-600mg. Therefore, this is also not sufficiently dosed.

Taking a look at the blends within the formula, it’s clear to me that the Natural Fruit and Vegetable Blend will not contain sufficiently dosed ingredients due to the fact that just one of the ingredients, green tea extract, has a recommended dose of 250-500mg, and the entire blend weighs 200mg.

Overall, although a few ingredients with smaller recommended doses may be sufficiently dosed, the majority of the ingredients within the formula are not sufficiently dosed.

Therefore, the benefits the brand claims the consumer will experience by taking this formula may not actually occur.

Terra Origins Greens Superfoods Reviews

Terra Origins Greens Superfoods is available on Amazon and therefore we can look on there to see a selection of unbiased, customer reviews of the formula.

Overall, there are 183 reviews and the formula scores an overall rating of 4.3 stars out of 5 stars – most of the reviews rave about the taste of the coffee-flavored mix!

So, let’s take a look at the selection of these reviews.

My wife initially ordered this for her smoothies. Needless to say, I ended up using it the most after enjoying a smoothie myself. The coffee flavor is one of the best flavors I have had in powdered form. Usually, plant-based powders have a weird taste and don't hold the flavor. Terra Origin does the best job in keeping quality without sacrificing flavor. 5-star review

Wish it came in a smaller amount at a smaller price tag. I don't drink it often enough. 3-star review

I do not recommend this product. Not the quality I expected. You couldn't return it and wish I could. I didn't find this product to provide any of the benefits it advertised. The product has too much sweetener and the product caused major disruption to my digestive system. 1-star review

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Terra Origins doesn’t offer a money-back guarantee, but they do offer a “satisfaction guarantee”. This means that if you’re happy with your order you can return the product(s) for a full refund within 30 days of purchase.

Where to buy Terra Origins Greens Superfoods?

You can buy Terra Origins Greens Superfoods from the Terra Origins website and Amazon online, or from selected Target and GNC stores.

Is It Worth The Price?

Unlike other supplement companies that give you the opportunity to either purchase the product on a one-time purchase or on a discounted subscription, Terra Origins doesn’t provide that option.

Instead, Greens Superfoods is only sold at one price.

There are 30 servings of formula within the Greens Superfoods formula, and the formula is normally sold at $18, meaning the cost per serving of the formula is $0.60.

However, at the time of writing this article, the formula was on a 50% discount, meaning it cost $9. This means that the cost per serving of the formula is $0.30.

Regardless of whether you buy the formula at $9 or $18, it’s incredibly cheap for a greens powder. In fact, it’s one of the cheapest super greens formulas on the market.

Therefore, although the formula may not contain sufficiently dosed ingredients, I would say that it is actually reasonably priced and worth the price it’s sold at.

Terra Greens Verdict

Personally, I would not purchase this formula, simply because it doesn’t have a fully disclosed ingredients label and may not contain sufficiently dosed ingredients.

However, saying that, I think this formula could be really great for those looking for a budget-friendly greens powder, especially if they’re not actually too concerned with getting the correct dose of every ingredient within the formula but are rather looking for a greens top-up instead.

I say this because it has good reviews, it tastes great, and it’s incredibly cheap!

Overall, if you have a bigger budget, I would recommend looking elsewhere for a fully disclosed greens powder that contains sufficiently dosed ingredients.

However, if you want a budget-friendly greens, this may be a good option for you since it’s so low cost.
