Vital Proteins Collagen Beauty Greens review

Vital Proteins Collagen Beauty Greens Review

Collagen supplements are becoming more and more popular, with more people trying to prolong vitality and reduce the signs of aging.

However, no company does it better than Vital Proteins – this brand is well-known to produce the best collagen supplements on the market!

Vital Proteins Collagen Beauty Greens is a collagen supplement powder that contains greens superfoods, hyaluronic acid, and bacillus coagluans (a probiotic).

This powder, along with all of the Vital Proteins products, is supposed to help boost overall health and vitality and reduce the signs of aging. In addition, the super greens ingredients within the formula provide essential vitamins and minerals to support optimal levels of health.

So, I’m interested in taking a closer look at this collagen greens powder to see if it really is as good as everyone makes it out to be!

If you’re also keen to take a closer look or you’re thinking of purchasing the formula, check out my full Vital Proteins Collagen Beauty Greens review below.

Collagen Beauty Greens First Impressions

As soon as you head onto the Vital Proteins website you’re met with a photo of Jeniffer Aniston looking incredibly well put-together, fresh, and strong – obviously, you’re initially impressed.

Aside from the A-list promoter (which is obviously great), the website has a really nice feel to it.

Everything is bold, vibrant, informative, and the site is easy to use. It all seems very appealing.

Looking at the Collagen Beauty Greens formula, I’m still fairly impressed. The branding on the tub is attractive and the multitude of positive yet seemingly unbiased customer reviews is hopeful.

However, I really think the page is lacking a lot of product information, which is a real let-down.

I’d like to see more information about the ingredients in the formula, the benefits of the formula, information about who should and shouldn’t take the formula, etc, etc.

However, overall, the Vital Proteins brand looks appealing and I am intrigued!

Background on Vital Proteins

Vital Proteins was founded in 2013 by Kurt Seidensticker and were, and still is today, focused on providing collagen-rich nutritional supplements to help boost overall health and reduce the signs of aging.

Dubbed one of the world’s most successful collagen supplement businesses and promoted by the likes of Jennifer Aniston, the business grew exponentially, and in 2020 Nestlé Health Science acquired a majority stake in the business!

Collagen Beauty Greens is a popular product of the brand, with the current best sellers being the Original Collagen Peptides, Collagen Creamer, and Vital Coffee.

Collagen Beauty Greens Benefits

Vital Proteins hasn’t actually provided a lot of information about the benefits that come from consuming this formula.

The only real benefit information the brand provides is that the formula is beneficial because it improves skin moisture, smoothness, and tone.

The brand also states that the formula provides the body with essential vitamins and minerals.

It would’ve been great to see the brand go into more detail about the health benefits that derive from this formula, simply because the benefits listed don’t make you want to rush to purchase the product instantly.

Collagen Beauty Greens Ingredients

Collagen Beauty Greens contains 11 ingredients, with 3 of them being fully disclosed and the rest of them existing in a proprietary blend.

It’s useful that some of the ingredients are fully disclosed, but it’s a real shame that the rest of the ingredients aren’t – this makes efficacy difficult to work out.

Nonetheless, I’m going to go into the efficacy of the formula later on. First, let’s take a look at the ingredients within the formula!

Here is the complete list of the Collagen Beauty Greens ingredients:

  • Collagen Peptides (from snapper scale) – 12g
  • Hyaluronic Acid – 120mg
  • Bacillus coagulans – 20mg
  • Other Ingredients – Bovine Hide Collagen Peptides, Organic Wheat Grass, Coconut Water Powder, Organic Alfalfa Leaf, Organic Kale, Organic Barley Grass, Vanilla Bean Powder, Organic Spinach.

Here is the supplement facts label:

How does Collagen Beauty Greens Taste?

Collagen Beauty Greens is a Vanilla Coconut flavor. However, unfortunately, the taste is not good!

The collagen in the formula comes from snapper scales and it leads to the formula tasting fishy.

Even consumers that love the formula and rate it highly state that the formula tastes bad!

Side Effects

There are no side effect warnings provided by Vital Proteins, and the formula shouldn’t cause any severe side effects.

However, I would suggest that children do not consume this formula.

In addition, I always suggest that women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, people on medication, and those with medical conditions should consult a medical professional before consuming any new supplement.

Does Collagen Beauty Greens Work?

Three of Vital Proteins Collagen Beauty Greens ingredients are fully disclosed – collagen peptides, hyaluronic acid, and bacillus coagulans.

However, the greens ingredients and flavoring ingredients within the formula exist within a proprietary blend.

It seems a little strange that the brand has chosen to show some ingredients and not others, but hey, that’s what we’ve got to work with when trying to figure out the efficacy of the formula!

Obviously, it would’ve been much more beneficial and transparent for the company to provide a fully disclosed ingredients label.

Nonetheless, let’s first take a look at the disclosed ingredients. The daily recommended dose of collagen sits between 2.5g – 15g, and therefore with a 12g serving of collagen peptides in each serving, the formula hits that recommended dose!

It’s impossible to say whether all of the ingredients in the formula are sufficiently dosed, but at least three of the ingredients are!

Looking at hyaluronic acid, although it doesn’t have a set standard recommended daily dose, research has shown that between 120–240 mg per day provides benefits. Therefore, the 120mg of hyaluronic acid also hits the recommended dose.

Benefits from bacillus coagulans begin to occur when 2 billion CFU is consumed daily, and therefore this ingredient also hits the recommended dose – all good so far!

Seeing as these ingredients add up to 12.14g, we can assume that the other ingredients in the formula add up to 8.86g.

Looking at the other ingredients, it’s possible that they are sufficiently dosed.

For example, the recommended dose of wheatgrass is 3g, and barley grass and spinach can be effective from 1g upwards. Therefore, it’s likely that the other ingredients are sufficiently dosed.

However, since the amounts of each ingredient aren’t shown, it’s impossible to know the weighting of each. Therefore, the flavoring ingredients may actually take up more of the 8.86g than the other ingredients.

If this was the case, the greens ingredients may not provide benefits.

Overall, it’s impossible to say whether all of the ingredients in the formula are sufficiently dosed, but at least three of the ingredients are!

Collagen Beauty Greens Reviews

Vital Proteins Collagen Beauty Greens is available on Amazon and there are 134+ global ratings on there.

Overall, the formula scores 3.8 stars out of 5 which is particularly low, so it’s going to be interesting to see what people’s issues are with the formula – perhaps the taste is too much for people to bear!

Let’s take a look at a selection of customer reviews!

This product is great for my complexion. I have tried too many topical products and prescription meds and none were as great as this. After taking one scoop once a day for 2 weeks my skin is soft and my adult acne is gone! The downside is it tastes terrible but definitely worth it for the results for me. 5-star reviewer

Love the health benefits but did not love the taste! I had to put it into a smoothie with tons of fruits to mask the flavor. I will stick with the flavorless collagen from this company from now on! 3-star reviewer

Tasted terrible–like fish. Could not choke down. 1-star reviewer

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Vital Proteins doesn’t offer a money-back guarantee, and instead simply states that if you have any issues with your purchase you need to contact them within 30 days.

However, this doesn’t guarantee you a refund, and the brand states that they can “change or amend this [returns] policy” whenever.

Where to buy Collagen Beauty Greens?

You can buy Collagen Beauty Greens from the Vital Proteins website, Amazon, Walmart, and Target.

Is It Worth The Price?

Vital Proteins sells the Collagen Beauty Greens formula in tubs that contain 14 servings of the formula.

The brand offers a one-off purchase price and a subscription option that offers a 25% discount, free shipping, and free samples.

The one-off-purchase price is $49 per tub, meaning the cost per serving of the formula works out at $3.50.

The subscription price is $36.75 per tub, meaning the cost per serving of the formula works out at $2.63.

Although three of the formula’s ingredients are fully disclosed on the ingredients label, and the greens may be sufficiently dosed, this is a costly formula for an ingredients label that contains a proprietary blend!

The Bottom Line

The Vital Proteins brand, and the Collagen Beauty Greens formula, clearly have a lot of hype around it, and to a certain extent, I can see why.

The formula hits the recommended dose of collagen and provides an adequate amount of probiotics and hyaluronic acid too, which is great!

However, unfortunately, although the proprietary blend of ingredients may actually contain sufficiently dosed ingredients, seeing as it’s in a proprietary blend and the ingredients label isn’t fully disclosed, it’s impossible to know if each ingredient is sufficiently dosed.

Therefore, it's impossible to know if the ingredients will provide the claimed health benefits.

In addition, the formula is incredibly expensive, doesn’t taste good, and doesn’t have good customer reviews!

Therefore, I personally would not buy this formula.

Unless you really want to buy this specific formula, you might be better off buying a stand-alone high-quality collagen powder (possibly from this brand if that interests you) and mixing it with a high-quality super greens formula, to actually ensure you’re receiving the benefits from both.

  1. Yes, I came looking for a review on this particular flavor because I 100% agree. I love Vital Protein and tried different flavors but this one is so terrible! I tried putting it in a smoothie and it over powered the taste! Luckily it’s only 10 oz so I will be trying to finish it ASAP! 😀
