Your Super vs Super U

Your Super vs Super U: Similar Brands, but which one is better?

When it comes to Your Super and Super U superfood supplements, it’s not only the names of the brands that are alike – both of these super greens formulas that these brands produce are incredibly similar in so many ways. So, as you can imagine, there’s been a growing demand for a comparison of the two formulas.

Both the Your Super and Super U greens formulas are certified organic, share most of the same ingredients, cost roughly the same, and supply similar health benefits.

However, Your Super is a US-based brand, whereas Super U is based in the UK. So, which side of the pond wins when it comes to these formulas?

If you’re keen to know the answer and you want to look at the formulas in closer detail, check out my Your Super vs Super U full comparison review below. Just try not to get confused by the names!

What Is Your Super?

YourSuper Super Green Drink Mix

Your Super is a supplement brand based in LA California. The brand was founded in 2015 by couple Kristel and Michael after Michael was diagnosed with cancer at age 24. Whilst he was recovering, Kristel began to make superfood mixes and these were so powerful that the duo felt they needed to be shared with the world.

One of the brand’s most popular supplements is the Super Green Mix. This formula contains 6 powerful superfood ingredients and is USDA certified organic, gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and vegan.

The greens powder formula is supposed to boost the immune system, aid the digestive system, and provide the consumer with essential vitamins and minerals. It’s marketed as a quick and easy way to increase nutrient intake, which is perfect for those that have busy lifestyles.

Unfortautnely, although I appreciate the brand ethos and its values, the ingredients label isn’t fully disclosed, meaning no one but the brand’s team knows how much of each ingredient actually exists in the formula.

I will be having a look at the formula and the ingredients within the formula is much more detailed further down in this review, of course, but first, let’s take a look at the pros and cons of the Your Super formula as a whole.

Pros

  • USDA certified organic
  • Some Potent superfood ingredients
  • Compassionate brand ethos

Cons

  • No amounts of ingredients are shown
  • Some people might find the taste too pungent

What Is Super U Clean Greens?

Super U Clean Greens

Super U, founded by couple Sean and Charlotte in 2017, is a UK based supplement brand that specializes in producing gluten-free, organic formulas. The pair started the brand after Charlotte was diagnosed with coeliac disease and struggled to get a good nutrient intake daily, realizing others were in the same position and they could help.

The Clean Greens formula is one of the brand’s best sellers. The formula contains 8 potent superfood ingredients and just like Your Super, it’s certified organic, gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan.

Super U claims that the formula will boost the immune system, increase energy levels, support digestion, and provide essential vitamins and minerals to improve overall wellbeing.

Unfortunately, just like Your Super formula too, Super U has decided not to add information about the amount of each ingredient within the formula, so it’s impossible to know if it’s sufficiently dosed.

However, of course, as mentioned above, I will be looking more closely at this later in the comparison review.

First, let’s take a look at the pros and cons of the Super U Clean Greens formula as a whole. Hint, they’re pretty much exactly the same as Your Super’s pros and cons!

Pros

  • Certified organic
  • Powerful superfood ingredients
  • Relatively cheap

Cons

  • No information about the amounts of the ingredients

Your Super Vs Super U Benefits

Your Super

I really don’t think Your Super hasn’t really pushed the benefits of this formula. As long as the ingredients are sufficiently dosed, this formula would provide a wide range of benefits to the consumer. However, Your Super only provides three benefits of the formula.

Your Super Greens Mix is supposed to provide essential vitamins and minerals (vitamin A, K, C, calcium, potassium, folate, and iron in particular), boost the immune system, and support the digestive system.

The brand does provide a small amount of information about the specific ingredients within the formula and some other health benefits are mentioned. For example, there’s information about what spirulina is and where it comes from, and the brand mentions that it increases energy and improves strength.

Super U

Super U is very similar to Your Super and doesn’t provide a lot of information about the benefits that actually derive from the formula. It really seems a shame to me that both of these brands aren’t pushing the benefits of their formulas.

The Clean Greens formula is marketed as an immunity-boosting formula, but the brand also claims that it will boost energy levels, support digestion, and provide essential vitamins and minerals, in particular vitamin C, B6, and Iron.

The brand also supplies information about the ingredients within the formula and the benefits that are associated with each ingredient.

For example,

Barley grass comes from the Barley Plant. The grass is harvested before the grain has grown, meaning this super-green is gluten-free too! It is rich in protein, fiber, and iron – helping aid digestion and boosts energy

Your Super Vs Super U Ingredients

Your Super

Your Super Greens Mix only contains 6 ingredients, with the brand focusing more on the potency of the ingredients they choose rather than choosing to use a lot of ingredients.

The ingredients within the formula are wheatgrass, barley grass, moringa, baobab, spirulina, and chlorella. All of these ingredients are certified organic.

Although each of these ingredients is incredibly powerful and has a long list of benefits associated with them, they’re only powerful if a substantial amount of them is consumed. Unfortunately, there’s no information about the amounts of each ingredient within the formula, so we have no idea whether the ingredients are actually sufficiently dosed or not.

The recommended serving size of Your Super Greens Mix is 5g, and with ingredients such as spirulina, wheatgrass, and chlorella coming to a larger recommended daily dose than this (6g for these three ingredients), it’s impossible for each ingredient to be sufficiently dosed.

So, it’s actually unclear whether the formula will provide the benefits the brand claims it will.

Your Super Greens label

Super U Clean Greens

Super U Clean Greens contains two more ingredients than the Your Super Greens Mix, bringing the total number of ingredients within this formula to 8.

These ingredients are baobab, barley grass, chlorella, moringa, pineapple, wheatgrass, spirulina, and camu camu berry. All of the ingredients are organic.

So, there are only two ingredients that are different from the Your Super blend – pineapple and camu camu berry.
Unfortunately, there’s the same problem with the Super U formula as there is with the Your Super formula – none of the amounts of any of the ingredients are shown, so it’s impossible to tell if the ingredients are sufficiently dosed or not.

The Super U Clean Greens formula also has a serving size of 5g, so the same can be said as the Your Super formula – the recommended daily dose of spirulina, wheatgrass, and chlorella alone outweighs the entire serving size.

Therefore, not all of the ingredients within the formula will be sufficiently dosed.

Your Super Vs Super U Taste

Your Super

There aren’t any ingredients in the Your Super Greens Mix for flavoring or sweetening the formula, and the brand states that the formula tastes like lemon and greens, so obviously, the formula tastes of greens!

Although I actually appreciate formulas that taste strong and healthy, I don’t appreciate the taste of this formula – the citrusy taste just doesn’t do it for me! However, it may be appealing to other people.

If you’re someone that isn’t used to the taste of super greens, this formula could definitely taste a little too grassy and natural for you, potentially making it difficult to drink.

Super U

Super U Clean Greens does taste more appealing than Your Super, with added pineapple and camu camu berry to sweeten it and reduce the grassy flavor from the super greens ingredients.

These ingredients make the formula taste sweet and bring a fruity flavor to the formula, and although you can still taste a hint of the greens ingredients, it’s not overpowering.

Your Super Vs Super U Cost

Your Super

One container of Your Super Greens Mix holds 30 servings of formula and costs $34.90. Therefore, this means the cost per serving of the formula is $1.16.

You can save 20% if you subscribe to receiving the formula regularly, which brings the cost per serving down to $0.93.

Obviously, in relation to other super greens formulas on the market, this is inexpensive. However, since the formula doesn’t have a fully disclosed ingredients label and it most likely doesn’t have sufficiently dosed ingredients, I wouldn’t expect the formula to be any more expensive than this.

Super U

Super U Clean Greens also comes in containers (that look pretty much identical to Your Super Green Mix) that hold 30 servings of formula. One container costs £24.99 (approx $33.34 at the time of writing), so this makes the cost per serving £0.83 ($1.10).

You can subscribe to receiving the formula and save 15%, meaning the cost per serving would be £0.70 (approx $0.93).

So, this formula is a little cheaper than the Your Super greens formula. However, as mentioned with Your Super, I wouldn’t expect a powder without a fully disclosed ingredients label to be any more expensive than this.

Your Super Vs Super U: Which is Better?

Your Super and Super U are so similar brands, and the greens formulas that both brands sell are also incredibly similar.

It’s actually hard to tell them apart, with the only real difference being that Super U is a tiny bit cheaper and contains two extra ingredients that help it taste better.

Since both of the formulas don’t have fully disclosed ingredients labels, I wouldn’t choose to purchase these formulas – I would go for a super greens powder with a fully disclosed ingredients label without proprietary blends.

If I had to choose out of the two, I would probably go with the Super U Clean Greens powder, simply because it’s cheaper and tastes better.
