PlantRise Supergreens Review

PlantRise Review (SuperGreens72 Powder)

PlantRise is a new super greens powder to hit the superfood supplement market.

Containing a huge number of ingredients (72 in all!) that include vitamins/minerals, greens, adaptogenic herbs, and probiotics. This greens powder claims to be the most nutrient-rich green superfood.

These guys use great branding and there is no denying it's vibrant and stands out from the greens powder crowd. But, do they deliver the super green goodies you would expect in such a powdered supplement?

I was keen to discover if PlantRise Supergreens72 can deliver a superfood punch and provide the health benefits claimed. Read below my full PlantRise Review to find out.

What is PlantRise?

Most super greens are often packaged in boring white tubs with veggies on the label. This is not the case with Plantrise!

The packaging and website look awesome, it's hard not to be impressed with the branding of this greens powder.

PlantRise SuperGreens72 claims to be a premium daily supplement blend that is packed with 72 easily absorbable vitamins, minerals, and whole-food sourced ingredients.

Their greens formula has been designed to increase energy and focus, support the digestive system, gut health, and help boost the body’s immunity.

Background on PlantRise

There is little non-marketing information on the official website for PlantRise. The “about” page outlines the mission statement, that the supplement is produced in Southern California, but little about the faces behind the brand.

The company behind PlantRise is STRIKER NUTRITION, LLC, which has a company address in New York. The directors and owners were not visible as they have used a registered agent.

I did some cursory digging to find out more about this company but came up with a blank. It would be good to know more about the owners of the company to see who is behind the brand, but in this case, I wasn't able to find out any.

PlantRise Supergreens72 Ingredients

There are 72 ingredients in the PlantRise Greens formula. This is a lot in one serving size but I was glad to see that each scoop was a healthy 15.7 grams.

All the ingredients in the formula are contained within five proprietary blends. This means we don't get to discover the individual ingredient weights and so whether they are contained in the right dosage to have an impact on our body.

Here is the complete list of PlantRise ingredients:

  • Superfood Blend (6.5g) – Spirulina, apple fiber, fructooligosaccharides, artichoke inulin, wheat grass, alfalfa grass leaf powder, chlorella (cracked cell) powder, barley grass juice powder, hawthorn berry fruit extract, broccoli sprout powder, papaya fruit juice powder, pineapple juice powder, cocoa powder, rosehips berry fruit extract, green tea powder extract (NLT 90% polyphenols), licorice root powder, slippery elm bark extract, kelp powder, bilberry fruit powder, spinach leaf powder, beet juice root powder, carrot root powder, ginger root powder, grape seed extract
  • Herb and Antioxidant Activity Blend (5.3g) – Pea protein, citrus bioflavonoids fruit powder, Vitamin K2, rhodiola rosea root powder, eleuthero root extract, rosemary leaf powder, coenzyme Q10, ashwagandha root powder, milk thistle powder extract, dandelion root powder, alpha lipoic acid, policosanol, beta glucans, goji fruit powder, gotu kola whole herb extract
  • Digestion & Wellness (145mg) – Astragalus root powder, reishi mushroom whole powder extract, bromelain, burdock root powder, shiitake mushroom powder
  • Probiotics (38mg) – Lactobacillus Acidophilus (15 billion CFU/serving), Acidophilus Lactobacillus w/Bifidobacterium Bifidum (2.5 billion CFU/serving).
  • Other Ingredients – Sunflower lecithin, natural flavors, stevia leaf extract.

It's worth noting that the Supergreens72 formula is paleo, vegan, keto-friendly, gluten, dairy, soy, and GMO-Free.

How does PlantRise Taste?

PlantRise didn't quite make my list of favorite tasting powdered greens but it's not bad at all. It's certainly better tasting than most!

There isn't the grassy and chalky taste found in most green superfoods, instead, it has a slightly sweet, and creamy flavor.

The formula uses natural flavorings and stevia leaf extract, a popular natural sweetener used in powdered superfoods.

Side Effects

There are unlikely to be any side effects by taking this supplement. There are no stimulants (other than Green Tea Extract) and unless you're particularly sensitive to any ingredient in the blend, then you should be fine.

Of course, if you're suffering from any pre-existing medical conditions and/or taking medication be smart and check with your doctor first.

Does PlantRise Work?

As mentioned, the serving size is good and larger than most of the greens supplements I have reviewed, only Kylea Greens and Transparent Labs Prebiotic Greens had similar serving weights.

This is encouraging as many powdered greens that small serving sizes that make including the ingredients in the minimum effective dosage difficult, if impossible.

With this many ingredients in one formula, many will be under-dosed compared to other formulas that focus on fewer ingredients in higher amounts.

My concern with Plantrise is with the inclusion of proprietary blends in their Supergreens72 formula.

By no means unique to this supplement, most green superfood supplements hide the individual weights of each ingredient in the formula. Doing so makes it IMPOSSIBLE to know how much of each ingredient it contains – and therefore how effective it really is!

A quick example, reishi mushroom whole powder extract is within the “Digestion & Wellness blend” that totals 145mg, considering the science reports needing a daily serving in the grams to get the reported benefits (Source: WebMD).

The fact is, with this number of ingredients in a supplement formula, many will be under-dosed compared to other formulas that focus on fewer ingredients in higher amounts.

That said, if your diet is haphazard and you're not getting a healthy balanced diet each day, then PlantRise could be a great addition to ensure you top-up on your most needed nutrients and more.

PlantRise Reviews

There are only a few customer reviews on the website that I can see. Other third-party websites have also reviewed PlantRise too.

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

The money-back policy is straightforward and so if you're not 100% satisfied, you simply contact the company within 30 days of your first order to initiate the process of receiving a refund on your original order.

It's not the most generous money-back guarantee I have seen, but it gives you the opportunity to try PlantRise to see if this supplement works for you.

Where to buy PlantRise?

PlantRise is not available on the official website at the time I published my review.

Is It Worth The Price?

PlantRise is one of the most expensive greens I have seen. Each pouch will set you back $95 but you have the option of signing up for their monthly subscription option, which drops the cost down to $75 per pouch.

When ordering the default option is set to subscription, so if you want to try a single pouch be mindful of this when checking out.

The daily serving cost is between $2.50 – $3.10, which is similar to the cost of Athletic Greens.

This is still relatively expensive considering you can get other greens for around $2 per serving (for example, my greens formula if purchasing the saver bundles!).

US shipping is free for deliveries in 5 to 8 days. There is an expedited 2-3 day option that costs $5.

International shipping costs are from $22.95 to $70 depending on the option you select that will determine the speed at which you receive your order.

PlantRise Verdict

I like and am impressed with PlantRise.

It looks great and stands out from most of the other boring greens powders available.

There are some great ingredients in this whole-food superfood supplement and have successfully included a comprehensive list of nutrients. The caveat here is that we don't know the individual dosages of any of the ingredients (other than the vitamins/minerals).

For me, this is a big question mark. I like to know what's inside my super greens of choice. So, in this regard, PlantRise SuperGreens72 is a letdown.

If you can get past the use of proprietary blends and have the budget, then PlantRise could be a great ally in your kitchen and addition to your daily supplementation.
