Bioglan Greens Review

Bioglan Supergreens Review

Bioglan SuperGreens is a super greens formula that’s supposed to revitalize the body and the mind. With only a small selection of high-quality ingredients, including some of the most potent superfoods on the planet, the formula has a long list of benefits.

The brand claims that the formula will protect cells from oxidative stress, support the immune system, reduce levels of tiredness, increase cognitive function, boost metabolism, and much more.

Unlike other brands, Bioglan chooses to market the formula as not only something that can be consumed with water or in a drink but as a powder that can be baked, cooked, and added to food.

The Bioglan brand and this formula in particular really intrigued me and I’m keen to take a closer look. If you are too, check out my full Bioglan Supergreens review below.

Bioglan Supergreens First Impressions

Although when you first search for the Bioglan Supergreens formula you might land on a variety of third-party websites, I’ve chosen to take a look on the Bioglan website itself.

My first impressions of the brand’s website are really good. There’s everything from a blog that’s regularly updated to a recipes page for each and every Bioglan product.

Looking at the Bioglan Supergreens product page and the formula itself, I'm still impressed. The branding is incredibly catchy and if I saw this formula in a store, I’d be drawn to it. All of the information about the formula is clear, concise, and easily understandable.

Overall, my first impressions of this formula and the Bioglan brand are positive and I really hope that I feel the same when I take a look at the ingredients list.

Background on Bioglan Superfoods

Bioglan was founded over 30 years ago in Sydney, Australia with the aim of producing high quality, innovative supplements that genuinely improve the health of consumers.

In the 1990s the brand joined the Pharmacare company which is a family-run health and wellness company that represents a wide range of brands, also based in Australia.

Although both Bioglan and Pharmacare are based in Australia, Bioglan products are available in over 40 countries.

The Supergreens formula is one of the most popular produced by the Bioglan brand, but it’s not the only impressive product. Bioglan produces everything from maca and turmeric capsules to collagen-boosting formula and digestive aid powder.

Bioglan Supergreens Benefits

Bioglan shares with the consumer exactly which vitamins provide specific health benefits, which I think is a really great touch as it’s both informative and educational for the consumer.

For example, the brand claims that the Vitamin B12 in the formula will support psychological function, support red blood cell formation, reduce tiredness and fatigue, and support normal metabolism.

As well as the benefits from Vitamin B12 mentioned above, the brand claims that the formula also protects cells from oxidative stress, supports collagen formation, supports the immune system, supports the nervous system, contributes to normal fertility and reproduction, helps to maintain the hair, skin, and nails, and supports cognitive functions.

Bioglan Supergreens Ingredients

There’s a total of 27 ingredients within the Bioglan Supergreens formula, and the brand recommends a serving size of 10g. The brand has chosen to show the percentage amount of all of the powdered ingredients within the formula, but for all of the other ingredients, there’s no indication of amount.

I have to say, I’m disappointed that the brand has chosen to pick and choose which ingredients they want to provide the weight information about as it just makes the brand look less transparent and leaves the consumer not knowing how much of other ingredients they’re consuming.

However, I’ll be talking about whether the formula will work or not a little later in this review. First, let’s take a look at exactly what’s inside this formula.

  • Apple Powder, Mulled Apple Seasoning (Sugar, Apple Powder [Dehydrated Apple, Antioxidant: Sodium Metabisulphite], Coriander, Cassia Cinnamon, Ginger, Salt, Cloves).
  • Powders: (Barley Grass (13%), Spinach (13%), Wheatgrass (12%), Spirulina (9%), Lucuma, Alfalfa, Kelp, Kale (7%), Maca, Broccoli, Chlorella (2%), Moringa, Turmeric, Green Tea Extract).
  • Vitamin C, Ferrous Citrate, Vitamin E (Anti-Caking Agent: Silicon Dioxide), Zinc Citrate Dihydrate, Vitamin B12.

The formula is certified vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free, nut-free, and wheat-free, making it suitable for a variety of people with specific dietary requirements and preferences.

How does Bioglan Supergreens Taste?

Initially, when looking at the formula for the first time, you would assume that the brand has absolutely nailed the taste of this formula because there’s a clear indication of this on the pouch – “no grassy taste”. However, it seems as if that’s untrue.

Even the people that have written really positive reviews about this product still complain about the taste. This formula is overpowering, definitely grassy, and incredibly natural, even though the brand has included Mulled Apple Seasoning.

I’m pretty certain the brand actually knows the formula isn’t the best tasting (Check here for best-tasting greens), hence the reason there are recipe cards all over the site explaining the ways the formula can still be consumed but hidden, in cooking or baking.

Side Effects

There aren’t any side effect warnings on the Bioglan Supergreens formula. However, as always, if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18 years old or you are on medication, you should consult your doctor before consuming any supplement, even when it’s natural.

Does Bioglan Supergreens Work?

I’m really gutted that the brand has chosen not to debut the amount of each ingredient within this formula because if they did, I wouldn’t have to complain and clutch at straws trying to figure out whether the formula will work or not.

By not adding the amount of each ingredient onto the ingredients list, the brand has completely taken away the consumer’s ability to figure out how much of every ingredient they’re consuming and if the formula will actually provide the health benefits that the brand claims it will.

Obviously, I can’t work out whether some of the ingredients will work, but I am going to take a look at the ingredients which we do have the amounts of.

For example, 9% of this formula is Spirulina, meaning there’s 6.3g of it in the entire formula. With a serving size of 10g, this means that there will be 0.63g of Spirulina in each serving, not reaching the daily recommended dosage of 1-3g (Healthline).

As a whole, it’s unclear whether the formula will actually provide the consumer with the correct amount of ingredients needed for health benefits to be derived.

Bioglan Supergreens Reviews

Taking a look at Amazon at the Bioglan Supergreens formula there are 143 global ratings and overall, the formula scores 3.9 stars out of 5 stars. Let’s take a look at a selection of these reviews below.

I am glad it doesn't have sugar or sweetener. It is just the green stuff I was looking for.5-star review

Eughhhh…I really wanted to persevere with this because the ingredients are just so good for you but everything I added it to ended up tasting like stagnant pond water (not that It's ever tasted that but you get the gist!) The cleverly worded blurb on the packet might lead you to believe there is no taste but that’s just not the case I’m afraid.,, I got it on subscribe and save and forgot to cancel so ended up with two packets (yikes!) The only thing I can recommend is dissolving two teaspoons in water, downing it as quickly as possible whilst holding your nose, then following immediately with some sweet juice (this still doesn’t entirely prevent the gag reflex!) Two stars because it’s good for the body though!!2-star review

This tastes foul compared to other green mixes.1-star review

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Bioglan doesn’t offer a money-back guarantee, but any of the products can be returned and refunded within 7 days of purchase as long as the packaging is unopened.

Where to buy Bioglan Supergreens?

You can buy Bioglan Supergreens on the Bioglan website directly, or all over the world, from a variety of third-party retailers such as Amazon and iHerb.

Is It Worth The Price?

One pouch of Bioglan Supergreens contains 7 servings and costs $9.99. This works out at a cost per serving of $1.43. The shipping rate depends on where you are in the world and through which retailer you choose to purchase the formula.

This is quite an expensive cost per serving in comparison to other super greens formulas on the market that actually state the amount of each ingredient.

My Final Verdict

My first impressions of this product were really great, and unfortunately, I feel let down by the formula after taking a look at the ingredients list and after reading consumer’s reviews.

I’m all about transparency, especially when it comes to supplements, and I think the fact that the brand has chosen to show the consumer the amount of 50% of the ingredients but not the other 50% is not acceptable.

I’m going to have to say that I wouldn’t recommend this formula as I think there are much better tasting and more cost-friendly formulas out there from brands that actually show the amounts of each ingredient they use.

  1. I have noticed that they have also changed their Magnesium formula which now mainly consists of heavy Magnesium Oxide (3/4 of the product in fact) which is very poorly absorbed and mainly for indigestion etc… not recommended in some cases for people with certain illnesses. (product Active Magnesium).

Very disappointing… I will not be buying any more of their products and will be putting the one I bought not long ago in the bin where it belongs..! In fact a lot of the magnesium available in Australia seems to be doing this, why? I will be buying from overseas for this as I usually do for most of my supplements.
