Progressive VegeGreens review

Progressive VegeGreens Review

The VegeGreens formula by Progressive Nutritional is a super greens formula jam-packed with vegetables, fruit, oils, herbs, extracts, and grasses.

Specially formulated to increase energy levels, provide mental clarity, cleanse the body from toxins, boost the immune system, support heart health and aid the digestive system, the formula contains the longest list of ingredients I’ve ever seen!

The brand has made some really bold claims about this formula and that’s exactly why I’m so keen to dive deeper and take a look at how great this formula really is. Let’s check out my full Progressive VegeGreens review below.

Progressive VegeGreens tub

First Impression of Progressive VegeGreens

Taking a look at the Progressive VegeGreens tub first, it looks pretty good. The branding is super simple but effective, bold colors and images bring in the customer’s eye. Even though it doesn’t have anything that really sets it apart when it comes to taking the first glance, this does still look like a product I’d be interested in.

Looking at the product page, everything is super clear, concise, and well thought out. There’s an abundance of information about the product, but it’s not too in your face. It’s clear the brand really believes the formula speaks for itself.

Personally I think my favorite thing about this formula, even at first glance, is the fact that every single ingredient is listed and the amount shown, both on the tub and on the product page – this is a win in my books! However, we’ll take a proper look at that later on.

Overall, my first impressions of both the Progressive Nutritional brand and the Progressive VegeGreens formula are really positive and I look forward to finding out more.

Background on Progressive Nutritional

Founded nearly four decades ago in 1984, Progressive Nutritional is a Canadian based supplement company for all the family.

All of the Progressive Nutritional products are created with the help of a renowned naturopathic doctor, Mikhael Adams B.S.c, N.D. Focused on providing natural health and wellbeing supplements for the entire family, the brand produces everything from multivitamins and probiotics to collagen formula and protein.

In addition, the brand is very aware of the different diets and allergens of customers and has therefore tried to create something for everyone. For example, as well as whey protein the brand also produces plant-based protein for vegan customers.

In fact, you can shop by a dietary requirement on the Progressive Nutritional website, proving that, as the name suggests, it’s a progressive brand!

Progressive VegeGreens Ingredients

Progressive Nutrition doesn’t only claim that the formula can provide these health benefits, but that it also provides the consumer with as much as antioxidants as consuming 6-8 servings of fresh vegetables.

As mentioned above, the Progressive VegeGreens formula contains quite possibly the most ingredients I’ve ever seen in a super greens formula. However, the ingredients don’t seem to just be there to act as fillers, with each ingredient being potent and useful.

Although the ingredients are categorized, the amount of each ingredient is shown, and there’s no proprietary blends insight, which is amazing!

This means that the consumer can clearly see how much of each ingredient they’re consuming and can work out whether the formula will actually work or not – but more on that later.

Let’s take a closer look at the ingredients list – be prepared, it’s a long one!

How does Progressive VegeGreens Taste?

Progressive VegeGreens comes in an array of flavors – Original, Pineapple Coconut, Cucumber Mint, and Blueberry Medley. The original flavor obviously tastes the most like a traditional, unflavoured super greens formula, and it does have a slightly grassy taste.

All of the other flavors are refreshing and sweet. Some say that the formulas are too sweetened with stevia, making it unpleasant. Although, the flavor isn’t majorly overpowering and can be easily hidden in a smoothie or a shake blend.

Side Effects

There are some warnings on the side of the Progressive VegeGreens tub, but they’re concerning people taking other medications in conjunction with this formula, and not concerning the formula itself.

Of course, if you’re using medication, pregnant, or breastfeeding, you should always consult your doctor before consuming a new supplement.

If you are none of these things, you shouldn’t experience any side effects from consuming this formula.

Does Progressive VegeGreens Work?

It’s such a welcome sight to see that the brand has been so open with the amount of each ingredient within the VegeGreens mix. By doing this, the brand isn’t only showing how that it has nothing to hide, but it’s actually helping the consumer as they can check whether they’re consuming the correct daily dosage of every ingredient if they want to.

When we look closer to the ingredients, we can see that overall, there are three main ingredients –Soy Lecithin (1750mg), Spirulina (1000mg), and Inulin (1015mg). All of the other ingredients exist in much smaller doses, so let’s take a look at the top three, and hopefully, we can determine whether correct amounts have been used.

For Soy Lecithin, experts recommend taking a daily dosage of anywhere between 500mg – 2,000mg, and therefore the amount of this is sufficient.

With Spirulina, it's generally suggested taking between 2,000mg – 3,000mg daily, and therefore the 1,000mg is slightly too low (source), but then this is more than many greens formulas.

For Inulin, experts recommend taking anywhere upwards from 2,000mg per day, and therefore this amount is also slightly too low.

However, it’s important to remember that these are just general recommended doses and there’s no universal daily recommended dosage for these ingredients. In addition, the brand has still added a good amount of each ingredient, even if it doesn’t hit the suggested dosage for some of them.

The brand has still added a good amount of each ingredient, even if it doesn’t hit the suggested dosage for some of them.

Overall, a lot of the ingredients in this formula will provide the consumer with health benefits. Some may not, but some will, and because the amount of each ingredient is listed in full, the consumer can figure out what they’re consuming.

Progressive VegeGreens Reviews

Looking at Amazon, Progressive VegeGreens scores 4.4 stars out of 5 stars, with 28 ratings. Let’s take a look at a selection of the reviews below.

I love this powder! I add this to my smoothie every morning and gives me energy for the rest of the day. I can really feel the difference in energy levels when I take this and when I don’t. I just wish it was not sweetened.5-star review

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Progressive Nutritional doesn’t offer a money-back guarantee or a refund option, but if you return the unopened product within 30 days of purchase you can get a refund in-store credit.

Where to buy Progressive VegeGreens?

You can purchase Progressive VegeGreens online on the Progressive Nutritional website or on Amazon.

The brand’s products are also sold in selected stores across the USA and Canada, and the Progressive Nutritional website has a store locator.

Is It Worth The Price?

The Progressive VegeGreens formula is available either in a trial size tub (7 servings), a regular tub (30 servings), or a large tub (60 servings).

  • A trial tub costs $14.99, which works out at a cost per serving of $2.14
  • A regular tub costs $35.99, which works out at a cost per serving of $1.20
  • A large tub costs $59.99, which works out at a cost per serving of $1.00

Therefore, it’s much cheaper per serving to order a large tub of the formula, as long as you know you like it!

Progressive Nutritional doesn’t offer a flat shipping fee and the brand doesn’t mention that it ships internationally, but if you spend over $50 you get free shipping, which I assume is within Canada only.

My Verdict

Although this product doesn’t score tens across the board, it does have most of the boxes ticked.

The fact that the brand is transparent about the amount of each ingredient is really beneficial and that’s what really puts it up there for me! As well as that, the formula tastes good, it’s at a fair price point and it’s produced by a long-standing brand.

It would’ve been nice to see a money-back guarantee and perhaps a dialed down ingredients list with more of each ingredient, but I have to say that I would probably recommend this product!
