Amazing Grass Raw Reserve

Amazing Grass Raw Reserve Review

Raw Reserve is a popular greens formula from the US-based brand Amazing Grass. The Raw Reserve formula isn’t only packed with greens from the land, freshwater, and sea, but it also contains superfoods, roots, extracts, and 25 Billion CFU probiotics.

Amazing Grass claims that the Raw Reserve formula will support healthy micro-flora in the gut, improve digestion, increase energy levels, boost the immune system and provide antioxidants (antioxidants push toxins from the body and protect cells from radicals change).

I’m excited to take a look at the Amazing Grass Raw Reserve formula in closer detail because the Amazing Grass has been going strong for nearly two decades, so it’ll be good to see why!

If you’re interested in purchasing the Raw Reserve formula or you’re a regular reader that’s interested in seeing how different greens powders fare against my judgment, check out my full Amazing Grass Raw Reserve review below.

Amazing Grass Raw Reserve First Impressions

I have reviewed another Amazing Grass supplement previously, you can check out my Green Superfood review here, Raw Reserve is a little different.

As a whole, the Amazing Grass brand certainly looks impressive. It’s obvious that the brand is popular, and everything on the website is pretty much on-point, from the visuals and branding to the information and the wide range of products.

The fact that the landing page is so informative, vibrant, and eye-catching sets a high standard for the Raw Reserve formula, and to be honest, I feel let down by it straight away.

There’s a real lack of information on the Raw Reserve product page. There’s information lacking when it comes to the ingredients within the formula, the benefits that will derive from the formula and there are not even directions on how to consume the formula.

I’m not overly impressed looking at this formula, especially after the brand seemed inspiring and exciting at first glance – this falls a little flat for me already. Hopefully, I’ll be impressed by the ingredients in the formula!

Background on Amazing Grass

Amazing Grass was founded back in 2002 by Brandon Bert and Todd Habermehl. Brandon’s family’s passion for greens went back around 50 years, with their farm in Kanas, and he shared this passion with Todd.

Todd was immediately bowled over by the power of super greens, and started to ditch his morning coffee for a greens juice! The pair decided to go into business together in 2002 to create a variety of health supplements and haven’t looked back since.

As well as the Raw Reserve formula, the brand produces a wide range of supplements, from effervescent vitamin tablets to kid-friendly superfood formulas.

Amazing Grass Raw Reserve Benefits

Amazing Grass doesn’t actually properly market the benefits of the Raw Reserve formula that much. Instead, you have to look pretty hard to find the benefits information, which is a little disappointing.

Even if a brand assumes that potential customers know what the benefits of taking a formula are, I would always like to see a full list of specific health benefits ingredients – I don’t think brands should assume people have nutrition knowledge.

The brand claims that the Raw Reserve formula will support the healthy microflora in the gut, improve digestion, increase energy levels, provide the body with antioxidants (protecting cells from radical damage, and pushing toxins from the body), and boost the immune system.

Amazing Grass Raw Reserve Ingredients

Amazing Grass Raw Reserve contains over 30 ingredients, from grasses and greens to herbal extracts and digestive enzymes. Over 95% of the ingredients are organic, allowing the formula to earn the USDA organic certification.

As wonderful as that is, unfortunately, the formula is made up of proprietary blends, meaning it’s impossible to figure out if each ingredient is sufficiently dosed – this is a huge letdown!

I’ll be looking at the efficacy of the formula later on in this review, first let’s take a look at the ingredients list.

Here is the complete list of Amazing Grass Raw Reserve ingredients:

  • AMAZING GRASS Green Food Blend (5.4g) Organic Wheat Grass, Amazing Grass Proprietary Algae Blend (Organic Spirulina, Organic Chlorella (cracked cell wall), E3 Live Organic Aphanizomenon Flos-Aquae (AFA), Organic Alfalfa, Organic Barley Grass, Organic Kale, Organic Kelp, Organic Bladderwrack, Organic Dulse

The formula is USDA certified organic, vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, grain-free, and non-GMO.

How does Amazing Grass Raw Reserve Taste?

Raw Reserve used to be available in Berry flavor, but as of 2020, it doesn’t seem to be available in anything other than Original flavor.

There are no flavoring ingredients within the Original Raw Reserve formula, so it’s not surprising that the formula tastes grassy and natural.

For those that are used to consuming greens powders, they will probably enjoy this formula, or at least find it palatable. However, for those that aren’t used to consuming greens, it might be a good idea to try and disguise the taste of the formula within a smoothie or juice.

Side Effects

The Raw Reserve formula doesn't have any side effect warnings attached to it, and you shouldn’t experience any adverse effects from consuming this formula, as long as you’re not allergic or intolerant to any of the ingredients.

Although, as I always recommend, if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18, have a medical condition or you take medication, speak to your doctor before consumption.

Does Amazing Grass Raw Reserve Work?

As mentioned above, the Raw Reserve formula contains proprietary blends. Proprietary blends are a huge issue when it comes to transparency because the amount of each ingredient isn’t shown, only the total amount of the proprietary blend is.

So, this means that the individual ingredients within a blend could be underdosed, and they normally are! If ingredients aren’t sufficiently dosed, it’s unlikely that the formula will actually provide benefits for the consumer.

Looking at the AMAZING GRASS Green Food Blend, it’s obvious to me that this is most likely underdosed. Not only is there a proprietary blend within a proprietary blend in this formula, but the recommended daily doses for several of the ingredients can’t fit inside a blend of a 5.4g.

some of the ingredients in this formula could be sufficiently dosed, but it seems that a lot of them won’t be

For example, the recommended daily dose of chlorella is 2-5g, the recommended daily dose of spirulina is 1-3g, and the recommended daily dose of wheatgrass is 3-5g.

chlorella

These are just three ingredients in a larger proprietary blend, but even these ingredients aren’t sufficiently dosed, so it’s pretty obvious that this blend isn’t going to provide sufficient amounts of each ingredient.

Looking at the Herbal & Support Food Blend, there’s only 1.5g of formula, and the daily recommended dose of even one of the ingredients, maca, is 3-3.5g, so this blend is also not supplying the consumer with a sufficient amount of ingredients.

Overall, some of the ingredients in this formula could be sufficiently dosed, but it seems that a lot of them won’t be, and therefore expected benefits from these ingredients might not actually occur.

Amazing Grass Raw Reserve Reviews

Raw Reserve is available on Amazon, and there are 32 reviews on there to take a look at. Overall, the formula is rated 4.5 stars out of 5 stars.

Let’s take a look at a few of these reviews below.

I love this product it's absolutely amazing. I like to take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. It's great for keeping the digestive system in order! It’s an essential item as part of my healthy diet, it’s also nice to mix in smoothies!5-star reviewer

Healthy but awful taste.3-star reviewer

I ordered this twice. I just finished the second one but I do not see any benefits even though it says it's got 25 billion probiotics, which I am not sure if it's true. When I drink kombucha I can tell the difference but this product did not give me any benefits. I really wanted this to work but won't purchase it again.1-star reviewer

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Amazing Grass doesn’t have a money-back guarantee. If you want to return a product for a refund you will have to do so within 30 days of purchase, sending back an unused product in its original condition.

Where to buy Amazing Grass Raw Reserve?

You can buy Raw Reserve from the Amazing Grass website, Amazon, Walmart, and other third-party supplement retailers.

Is It Worth The Price?

One tub of Raw Reserve costs $39.99 and contains 30 servings, meaning the cost per serving works out at $1.33.

You can subscribe to receiving the formula on a regular basis and save 20%, which works out at a cost per serving of $1.07. If you order more 2+ tubs, you can also receive a discount!

Whether you choose to go for a discounted option or you pay full price, this formula is cheaper than others on the market, making it more affordable for a greater audience. However, the price of the formula is reflected in the ingredients list!

The Bottom Line

The Raw Reserve formula is a cheap super greens formula produced by a brand that’s been around for nearly two decades and has a good customer base behind it!

If you’re looking for something that’s going to be easy on your wallet, this might be a good choice for you.

However, I would always rather pay a little extra and know that what I’m consuming will actually provide me with benefits, otherwise, I feel like it’s a waste.

Overall, the existence of poorly dosed proprietary blends in this formula means that I wouldn't choose to purchase it myself, as I know there are much better formulas out there!
