Bulletproof Greens are the latest supplement from the biohacking company Bulletproof. Promising to fuel your body and mind, I find out if this mix of 35 superfoods, vitamins, minerals and digestive aids, plus nootropics, is the real deal.
Bulletproof Greens is a powder supplement that you mix with water and helps to provide your daily vegetable intake.
This green is a little different from most greens, though, as it contains nootropics as well, similar to my Supergreen Tonik.
If you're considering trying this supplement, read my Bulletproof Greens review as I delve into the ingredients in the formula and their dosages, serving costs, and whether this brand can keep you on your A-game!

What is Bulletproof Greens?
Bulletproof Greens is the latest supplement from Bulletproof and contains ingredients they claim help fuel your body and mind so you can stay on your A-Game.
The greens are available in powder form in a 30-serving jar or individual sachets (15 packets per box).
As you would expect from Bulletproof, the branding is strong and gives you the confidence that this product is the real deal.
Although I am a huge fan of this brand, after a closer look at the supplement label, I was a little letdown, can you guess why?
I go into why I believe the ingredients could have been better in my ingredients section.

Background on Bulletproof
Bulletproof Nutrition Inc was founded by a charismatic biohacker, entrepreneur, and author Dave Asprey in 2017.
His success with his first supplement Bulletproof Coffee and the Bulletproof diet has grown the Bulletproof range of supplements to include bars, drinks, MCT oils, proteins, and other supplements.

Bulletproof Greens Ingredients
This is where we reveal how good any supplement really is, by checking over the ingredients to see what's inside, and also what's missing.
I like to look at the serving size to get an idea of how much good could be inside. With Bulletproof Greens, the serving size is 7.9grams, which is not too impressive considering other top brands have 12-gram serving sizes (AG1, Supergreen Tonik).
That said, I like the fact that this formula looks to cram fever ingredients into their formula but instead focuses on key nutrients.
The formula includes a “vegetables and fruit powder” blend, “superfood and mushroom complex” blend, “nootropics” blend, “digestive aids” blend, along with several vitamins and minerals added.
- Vegetables and Fruit Powder (2,037mg) – Organic Spinach, Organic Kale, Broccoli, Organic Celery, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Kelp, Organic Cucumber, Limes, Lemons, Organic Blueberries and Organic Strawberries
- Superfood and Mushroom Complex (1,570mg) – Spirulina, Chlorella, Green Tea Extract, Acai Berry, Acerola Cherry Extract, Lion’s Mane and Cordyceps Extract
- Nootropics (450mg) – Citicoline and Panax Ginseng Root Extract (4% Ginsenosides)
- Digestive Aids (320mg) – Bacillus coagulans (LactoSpore®) 20mg, 2 billion CFU Digestive Enzymes (BioCore® Optimum Complete) Amylase (3,500 DU), protease (21,000 HUT), protease (4,000 PC), alpha-galactosidase (150 GaIU), glucoamylase (9AGU), lactase (1,000 ALU), protease (50 SAPU), invertase (400SU), lipase (500 FIP), acid maltase (14 MaltU), peptidase (2AP)
- 10 Vitamins and Minerals
Here is the supplement facts label:
How does Bulletproof Greens Taste?
Preparing Bulletproof greens powder is straightforward, you mix one scoop with 8-12 oz. of water and shake thoroughly. As with most greens taste better with cold water and during the morning to give you benefits throughout the day.
The taste has a slight pineapple flavor that some customers say is a little sweet.
It's worth keeping in mind that taste is very subjective though and can be difficult to hide the bitterness of some ingredients.
Side Effects
You will unlikely suffer from any side effects when consuming Bulletproof Greens unless you're particularly sensitive to or allergic to Stevia leaf.
As with any supplement, if you have any pre-existing medical condition or are taking prescription medication then you should first seek medical advice before taking this brand.
Do Bulletproof Greens Work?
The supplement claims to fuel your body and mind with the 35 carefully chosen ingredients in the formula.
The problem is that when I look to work out effective this supplement can be is most of the ingredients, apart from the vitamins and minerals, all the ingredients are within proprietary blends and so we don't know the individual weights of each one.
We do not know the ingredient weights in any of the proprietary blends and so it's impossible to know if they are dosed sufficiently. If not dosed enough, then the health benefits may not be as claimed!
For example:
According to Healthline, you need between 1 and 3 grams of Spirulina per day to get the health benefits of this algae, the “superfood and mushroom complex” is only 1.57grams!
It's possible that Spirulina is dosed with 1gram, but if so then ALL the remaining ingredients in the blend are VERY underdosed.
The same goes for Cordyceps Extract, in that you need over 1gram per day to see the benefits according to the science (source).
The end result is that both the “Vegetables and Fruit blend” and “superfood and mushroom complex” will most likely be underdosed and so not provide all the benefits claimed by the company.
The nootropics blend contains Citicoline that is a popular ingredient in popular nootropics supplements in dosages ranging from 500mg to 1gram and so is a little under the recommended dosage (source).
Probiotics any good in this formula?
The “digestive aids” blend contains a range of digestive enzymes and gut-friendly bacteria.
Although most greens powders like to include probiotics and digestive enzymes in their formula, I remain unconvinced about how effective they really are.
I have spoken to manufacturers who produce supplements and they have told me that because probiotics can be very unstable that including them in multi-ingredient formulas could mean they offer little benefit to the consumer.
I have researched why greens powders with probiotics may not be a good idea but also may be the cause of greens supplements causing bloating.
The bottom line is that Bulletproof greens have some great ingredients that are science-backed but are likely to be insufficiently dosed.
This means you may not get the benefits claimed by Bulletproof!
I would argue that the first claim made by the statement “bulletproof greens difference” is questionable if you look at the issue of ingredient dosages.
Bulletproof Greens Reviews
I checked out the reviews on both the official website and on the Amazon listing. There are clearly superfans of the Bulletproof brand, and I can see why they do produce great products.
It's a really new supplement and so they aren't many reviews at the time of me reviewing Bulletproof Greens, but here is a selection.
I’m a huge fan of Bulletproof so I was ecstatic to see that they were moving into the greens space. I’ve been taking a different (cough cough and much more expensive) brand for over a year now and couldn’t be more thrilled already with this product.5-stars
tastesIt just OK. It tastes very sweet, and yet doesn't quite cover the underlying bitterness. Unsure if I will continue with this product.Supriya, 3 stars
I wish Bulletproof had clearly indicated the stevia was used to sweeten the Greens. After buying a container of Greens and further investigating of the ingredients I realized the reason for not feeling well. Margaret, 1 star
The negative feedback is mostly concerning the sweetness and the inclusion of stevia for natural sweetening, but this is fairly common practice to use either stevia or monk fruit in greens powders because the bitterness of many of the ingredients makes them unpalatable.
Of course, if you're not a fan of stevia then this product is not going to be for you.

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy
Every supplement from Bulletproof is covered by a 30-day returns policy. This is a standard policy and not particularly generous especially considering some brands over 90-days, even one-year money-back guarantees!
Where to buy Bulletproof Greens?
You can buy Bulletproof greens directly from the Bulletproof online shop here, it's also available through Amazon.com.
Is It Worth The Price?
Every single jar of Bulletproof Greens costs between $35.96 and $44.95, you get a 20% discount if you use the subscribe and save option.
If opting for the subscription version you can choose whether you wish to replenish your green every 2 or 12 weeks, with the recommended option being 4-weeks.
Each jar contains 30-servings and so the per-serving cost ranges from $1.19 to $1.49 – this is very cost-effective for a greens powder.
However, it's worth keeping in mind that the serving size is only 7.9grams compared to popular competitors being 12 grams – so Bulletproof greens serving size is 34% smaller!
The powdered greens are also available in individual packets (15-packets per box) for a one-off cost of $27.95 or $22.95 on a subscription.
Individual packets are always more expensive due to more material and labor costs incurred, and so each packet works out to be between $1.53 to $1.86.

Verdict on Bulletproof Greens
I am a big fan of Bulletproof Nutrition but I feel that their Greens supplement falls short and could have been so much better.
As you would expect, the branding is top-notch and exudes quality, but when you delve into the ingredient dosages these are almost all under-dosed.
The serving cost is good and will be within reach of most people's budget but with each serving being 34% smaller than alternatives like AG1 and Supergreen Tonik, you may just not be getting enough of the nutrients to support the claims.
In summary, great branding and the price is affordable but just is lacking in dosages and may not pack the punch required from a solid greens brand.
LifeHacker Guy Greens Recommendation
Some Call This An "Extreme" Step...
Most super greens supplements are disappointing.
I learned this the hard way. After creating this blog in 2018, I spent months buying and testing all the most popular brands.
I wasn’t happy with the results so I did something you might call "extreme"....
In 2019 I created my own brand that ticks every single box of what I look for in a super greens product:
- No hidden ingredient amounts - we have full disclosure labelling, so you know EXACTLY whats inside
- Ingredient amounts that make a difference - we include the minimum effective amounts supported by research, and most of the time, MORE
- Ingredients that help immunity, boost mental clarity and shake off brain fog - making for a much more productive and happy lifestyle
No more worrying about ineffective ingredients or too low dosages. I finally have a product I KNOW does the job it’s made to do.
I use it every day and, after years of battling Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), I now have my energy (and my life!) back.
The good news? I made my brand available to the public so you can see and feel the difference for yourself.
