Can You Drink Too Much Green Juice?

Green juices and green powders are incredibly popular, and for good reason – they’re packed with essential micronutrients, they provide the consumer with potent whole foods in small, tasty doses, and they’re powerful in comparison to regular supplements such as multivitamins.

But, how much green juice should you be consuming? Do you need to consume green juice on a daily basis for a long period of time to really feel the effects? Is it dangerous to drink too much green juice?

All of these are questions that many people are asking!

Whether you consume a popular greens powder or a green juice on a regular basis, or you are interested in consuming one and you’re unsure how much you should be drinking, this article is here to help!

We’re going to answer the question, “can you drink too much green juice?”, looking at how long it takes green juices to actually provide benefits, the safety of drinking green juices, and the recommended dose of green juice per day!

How Often Should You Consume Green Juice?

Green juices, whether made fresh or created with a green powder, are a fantastic way to increase your daily dose of micronutrients, consume more fruit and vegetables, and obtain additional health benefits from ingredients you may otherwise not consume.

The majority of green juices and green powders are safe to consume on a daily basis and should be consumed on a daily basis if you are to actually benefit from them.

Although green juices and green powders may provide short-term benefits as soon as you consume them, to actually experience the long term benefits associated with green juices and powders, you will need to consume them for at least two-three weeks (in most cases, depending on the specific product you’re consuming).

Is It Safe To Consume Green Juice Every Day, For A Long Period of Time?

As mentioned briefly above, although green juices and green powders may provide instant boosts of energy and help improve your nutrient intake upon consumption, they will only provide long-term health benefits if they’re consumed over a longer period of time.

The majority of green juices and green powders are safe to consume indefinitely. Therefore, you can add them to your daily list of supplements in the long run.

If you are worried about consuming a specific green juice or green powder in the long run, you should be able to find information concerning the safety of the product on the back of the tub or bottle.

This is when being able to read a supplement label like an expert, or even a basic level of understanding really helps.

If you can’t find any information on a product about the safety of consuming it in the long run, or there’s no information about the recommended dose of the formula, contact the company that produces it and they should be able to provide you with all of the safety information – if they don’t, they may not be a transparent company!

One concern with some superfood supplements is the level of heavy metals in greens powders. This makes the importance of choosing a brand that tests its brand with independent testing for heavy metals.

Are Fresh Green Juices Better Than Green Powders?

Although green juices can be beneficial, green powders offer much more comprehensive benefits and ingredients not easy to find in your local supermarket.

Fresh green juices can be much more expensive than green powders, they’re harder to store, and they’re rarely as tasty to consume!

Therefore, as long as you’re consuming a high-quality super greens formula, a greens powder is definitely more beneficial for you.

What Is The Recommended Dose of Green Powder?

Each green powder is created uniquely, and therefore they each have their own recommended dose.

You should always follow the recommended serving size instructions of the product that you are consuming.

However, it is important to say that you should consume a greens powder with a fully disclosed ingredients label (one that isn’t made up of proprietary blends) so that you know how much of each individual ingredient you are consuming.

This way, you not only know how much of each ingredient you’re consuming, but you can make sure the formula you’re consuming is actually providing you with sufficiently dosed ingredients.

Which Green Powders Should You Consume?

Since I’ve mentioned that each green powder isn’t created equally, it’s important that you understand which greens powders you should consume.

This is incredibly important when it comes to the amount of greens powder you consume too!

If you choose to consume a low-quality greens powder that is made up of proprietary blends and doesn’t contain sufficiently dosed ingredients, everything changes.

You will either need to take more than the recommended serving size in an attempt to consume a sufficient amount of the ingredients within the formula or you will not be consuming enough of the ingredients in the formula and therefore you may not experience the benefits associated with the formula.

Obviously, this is a huge waste of both time and money as you could be consuming a formula that’s actually not providing you with sufficiently dosed ingredients, even if you take more than the recommended dose!

However, if you choose to purchase a high-quality greens powder that doesn’t contain proprietary blends and definitely contains sufficiently dosed ingredients, you will only need to consume the recommended serving size of the formula, since you will be consuming a sufficient amount of all the ingredients within the formula in just one dose!

Can You Take More Than A Recommended Dose of Green Powder?

Although you should always stick to the serving size recommendations of a supplement, there are times that you can consume more than one serving of a green powder.

For example, if you are traveling, you’ve been sick, or you’re consuming a significantly lower amount of fruit and vegetables for a short period of time, you may want to increase your consumption of a green powder.

If you are consuming Supergreen Tonik, my super greens powder, for example, and you are particularly struggling with any of the experiences above, it’s completely safe to have an extra half dose of formula, or even double your dose.

However, this isn’t always safe to do with every greens powder on the market, so you should always check the brand’s recommendation first!

Are You Ready To Consume A Greens Powder Now?

After reading this article, you should feel clued up about greens powders, greens juices, and how to consume them!

You’re now ready to take the first step on your road to consuming greens – enjoy!
