Green powders are supplements that contain different fruits, vegetables, or herbs to boost overall health.

An option you might have come across is Sunwink Greens.

While Sunwick Greens is not part of my list of the best green powder supplements, it is still worth analyzing.

Thanks to my BSc in Sports and Exercise Science, I’ve come to analyze hundred of supplements.

So, in this review, I’ll review the ingredients, health benefits, pricing, and other pros and cons to help you determine if Sunwink Greens is worth purchasing.

What Are Sunwink Greens?

Sunwink Detox Greens is a green powder supplement with seven ingredients to help improve overall health.

Green powders make reaching the daily nutritional intake easier as getting the recommended dosage for fruits and vegetables.

Add 2 teaspoons of the supplement to a glass of water of your choice to get one serving of vegetables for the day.

One of the biggest drawbacks of Sunwink Greens is its label.

I would love to have more detail on the label.

While they list the ingredients, it is unclear how much of each component they use.

So, while they might have high-quality ingredients (which we will analyze later), if the doses are not right, the supplement might not be as beneficial.

Pros And Cons Of Sunwink Greens

Let's summarize the pros and cons to help determine if Sunwick Greens is the right supplement.

Pros

  • Has a few organic ingredients.
  • Cost-effective (based on the serving size and ingredients).
  • Most users report having good taste.
  • Available through their website or Amazon.
  • One serving provides a serving of vegetables.

Cons

  • Incomplete label.
  • Not all ingredients are organic.
  • Some ingredients lack scientific evidence.

Who Is Sunwink?

Sunwick Greens was created out of necessity.

The founder, Eliza, was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder.

She decided to include green powder supplements to help her manage her symptoms.

However, most of the ones she tried didn’t have a positive result.

The majority had artificial sweeteners, citric acid, and other preservatives, which she didn’t like.

As a result, the Sunwick company was born.

The company not only creates green powders but also offers sparkling tonics, mocktail packs, and other health-boosting drinks.

Sunwink also has the commitment to help its community since 2% of the sales are given back to the community. (Source)

Who Can Use Sunwink Greens?

Anyone wanting to increase their vegetable intake can use Sunwink Greens.

I’ve realized most people have trouble reaching their total vegetable intake.

This can increase the risk of nutrient deficiency, poor sleep, and low energy levels.

Sunwink Greens can be a way to have your greens on the go, which is an ideal option for those leading busy lives.

Also, including a green supplement before or after a workout can help improve recovery, especially if combined with a protein shake.

I know what you are thinking.

Green powders with a protein shake.

I know it might sound weird, but it all depends on the type of protein you choose.

I typically recommend combining it with a fruit-flavored protein shake such as orange or strawberry.

Health Benefits Of Sunwink Greens

Sunwink Greens can be a way to boost overall wellness.

Thanks to its content of different vegetables, it can help improve your health.

But, what are the specific in which it can help improve health?

What can you expect?

Reduced Inflammation

When there is too much inflammation in the body, it can lead to poor digestion poor gut microbiome, and you are more likely to get sick (due to a poor immune system).

Sunwink Greens contains several powerful antioxidants, such as quercetin and beta-carotene, which can help reduce inflammation in the body.

Less inflammation in the body can also decrease the risk of chronic illnesses such as heart disease and diabetes.

Improved Immune System

If you constantly get sick, you might have a poor immune system.

And I don’t know about you, but I hate getting sick.

It means less time with my family or doing those things, I enjoy.

Sunwink Greens, besides having powerful antioxidants which can help boost the immune system, also contain foods high in vitamin C, such as pineapple and spinach, which can help strengthen the immune system.

Improved Digestion

Finally, if you feel bloated, gassy, or have stomach cramps after eating, this might be the solution.

Pineapple juice contains bromelain, which can help improve protein digestion, helping you reduce any digestive issues.

Ingredients In Sunwink Greens

Sunwick Greens don’t have a long list of ingredients.

In fact, it only has 7 ingredients.

Now, just because it only has a few ingredients doesn’t mean it cannot bring you several health benefits.

Remember quality over quantity.

So, let’s analyze if this is the case.

Two teaspoons of this detox greens powder only have 15 calories, 3g of carbs, 1g of fiber, and 1g of protein.

One thing I would like is for the supplement to have a clear label.

The micronutrient section only mentions vitamin D, calcium, iron, and potassium.

So, while it says that it is a nutrient-boosting drink, you can’t really tell how much of the other nutrients it has.

And, regarding the ones it does state (calcium, iron, and potassium), they only offer 2% of the daily recommended value.

Let’s move on in this Sunwick Greens review and talk specifically about the ingredients the supplement offers.

Ingredients in every teaspoon of Sunwick Greens:

  • Celery extract.
  • Lemon juice powder.
  • Pineapple juice powder.
  • Wheat grass powder.
  • Spinach powder.
  • Spirulina powder.
  • Dandelion extract.

You can have the supplement once a day in the morning, afternoon, or evening.

You can also have it a couple of times during the day.

However, if you add the supplement more than once, pay attention to your body for any side effects that might arise, such as bloating, gas, stomach cramps, and diarrhea.

Health Benefits Of Sunwink Greens Ingredients

One serving of Sunwick Greens is two teaspoons of the green powder, less than other brands, such as Supergreen Tonik.

Here, we’ll go over what the scientific evidence has to say about each ingredient.

Celery

Celery is a low-calorie vegetable.

It is one of the most common ingredients in green smoothies thanks to its high fiber and nutrient content.

One of the biggest health benefits of celery comes from an antioxidant called apigenin.

Evidence suggests it can have powerful anti-inflammatory properties. (Source)

Additionally, its high fiber content can help reduce the risk of heart disease and improve blood cholesterol. (Source)

It seems celery might have such a positive effect on heart health due to its high nitrate content.

Nitrates can increase the amount of nitric oxide, which can widen the arteries.

As a result, there is less pressure on the blood vessels, which reduces blood pressure. (Source)

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is an excellent source of vitamin C.

It acts as an antioxidant to help reduce inflammation in the body.

Additionally, it can help boost the immune system. (Source)

Finally, lemon juice might have a role in kidney health.

Research shows that the citric acid content in lemons can help reduce the risk of kidney stones. (Source)

Citric acid can help increase urine volume and change the urine’s pH.

Both of which can make it less desirable for stones to form.

Pineapple Juice

Pineapples contain nutrients, especially vitamin C, manganese, and copper.

They are high in an antioxidant called flavonoids that helps reduce inflammation.

The biggest benefit of pineapple juice relies upon its digestive properties.

Pineapple contains an enzyme called bromelain which can help break down proteins. (Source)

The combination of bromelain and its antioxidant content seems to help improve recovery and boost the immune system.

A study showed that children who consumed more pineapple juice had a stronger immune system and a decreased risk of catching a bacterial infection or any other disease. (Source)

Wheatgrass greens drink

Wheat Grass

Wheatgrass is a powerful plant with many medicinal properties.

It’s high in nutrients like iron, calcium, and magnesium.

On top of that, it’s high in flavonoids (antioxidants) and chlorophyll.

Studies suggest that wheatgrass can help remove toxins from the body and improve digestion.

Thus, reducing digestive symptoms, especially in people suffering from irritable bowel syndrome. (Source)

Additionally, it can help boost the immune system and decrease the risk of chronic diseases like diabetes.

Spinach Powder

Leafy greens are very high in nutrients, and spinach is no exception.

Spinach is high in vitamins A, C, iron, and folic acid.

It contains one of the most powerful antioxidants, called quercetin, which can reduce inflammation in the body. It also contains lutein which can help improve eye health.

Spinach has a role in heart health since it can help decrease blood pressure since it is another food high in nitrates. (Source)

Just to refresh your mind, nitrates help widen blood vessels, reducing blood pressure.

Spirulina Powder

Spirulina is a type of algae that offers several health benefits.

It’s high in protein, greatly aiding those following a plant-based approach.

Spirulina is considered a high-quality protein source since it contains all the essential amino acids the body needs.

Something that might be challenging to find in other plant-based proteins since they are often considered “incomplete.”

Spirulina is also high in nutrients like thiamin, copper, and riboflavin.

The component that gives spirulina its intense color (phycocyanin) is a powerful antioxidant that can help reduce inflammation in the body.

Research shows it can also help decrease cholesterol levels by up to 10% when you supplement with 1 g of spirulina. (Source)

Lower cholesterol is not the only attribute that can help decrease the risk of heart disease. On top of that, studies show that spirulina can help reduce blood pressure. (Source)

Now, make sure you don’t mix spirulina and chlorella.

While they are both algae, they have different properties.

Dandelion Extract

The last ingredient in Sunwick Greens is a dandelion extract.

Dandelion is another nutritious food rich in vitamins A, E, K, magnesium, and potassium.

It contains an antioxidant called beta-carotene, which can help reduce body inflammation.

According to research, dandelion can positively affect digestion by promoting good bowel function.

Also, it can help reduce blood pressure and protect the liver. (Source)

However, most research is available in animal studies or test tubes.

So, more research is needed to determine the health benefits of dandelion.

Is Sunwink Greens Worth Buying?

Sunwick Greens might be a good alternative to boost your vegetable intake.

It has a fair price of $23.99 for a bottle with 20 servings.

The company offers the option of a monthly subscription, which saves you $3.60, and it comes with free shipping.

So, this might be a good option if you don’t want to spend too much on a supplement.

With that said, there might be other alternatives that, while more expensive, provide a higher-quality list of ingredients.

Other alternatives for you to try are Supergreen Tonik, Athletic Greens, or Organifi.

They all contain high-quality ingredients that can help boost your immune system, reduce inflammation, and aid digestion.

While they might be more expensive than Sunwink Greens, their dosage and ingredients cannot compare.

Sunwink Greens Review: Closing Thoughts

We’ve reached the end of our Sunwink Greens review.

Sunwink Greens offers a good option for those who want to increase their vegetable intake.

With only two teaspoons, you can get one serving of vegetables.

Its short list of ingredients contains several options to help decrease inflammation and improve overall health.

However, its unclear label makes you wonder how much each ingredient is used and to what extent it offers a high-nutrient beverage.
