Truvani Protein + Greens review

Truvani Protein Greens Review

Truvani Protein Greens is a powdered supplement that contains 10g of plant-based protein and a selection of super greens ingerdients.

This USDA-certified organic greens formula is supposed to boost protein and veggies whilst on the go and has been made suitable for the widest range of people possible.

The formula is dairy-free, lactose-free, soy-free, verified non-GMO, certified gluten-free, and certified vegan.

Truvani is a popular supplement brand in the US, and the Protein Greens formula is one of the brand’s best-sellers. Therefore, I’m keen to look closer at this organic protein and greens formula!

What is Truvani Protein Greens?

There is a lot going on on the Truvani website; honestly, I’m not crazy about it! I like that there’s a lot of informative content about the brand and the products, but I’m not keen on the site's design.

The Protein Greens formula looks interesting. I like the branding of the pouch and there’s a lot of information about why the brand created this formula. However, the product page lacks sufficient information about the benefits of the formula, which is a shame.

Overall, my first impressions of Truvani and the Protein Greens formula are so-so.

Background on Truvani

Truvani was founded in 2018 by food blogger Vani Hari, marketing genius Derek Halpern, and operations professional Devin Duncan. The company specializes in plant-based protein powders and vitamin supplements.

At the beginning of 2021, the company started to produce personal care daily-use products alongside the supplement range and it hopes to grow this selection of products.

Truvani Protein Greens Benefits

There’s not much information about the benefits of the Truvani Protein Greens formula, which isn’t ideal! Truvani claims that the formula boosts vegetables and protein whilst you’re on the go!

Truvani Protein Greens Ingredients

Truvani Protein Greens contains 13 ingredients in total, but unfortunately, the ingredients label is not disclosed, and therefore it’s unclear how much of each ingredient exists within the formula.

But I’ll look closer into the formula's efficacy later. First, let’s take a look at the ingredients label.

Here is the complete list of the Truvani Protein Greens ingredients:

  • Organic Pea Protein, Organic Vanilla Powder, Organic Spinach Powder, Organic Kale Powder, Organic Broccoli Powder, Organic Banana Powder, Organic Broccoli Sprouts, Organic Mung Bean Sprouts, Organic Quinoa Sprouts, Organic Alfalfa Sprouts, Organic Pumpkin Protein, Organic Monk Fruit, Organic Chia Protein.

How does Truvani Protein Greens Taste?

Truvani Protein Greens is not flavored specifically but it does contain vanilla powder and is sweetened with monk fruit extract.

Customer reviews concerning the taste of the formula are pretty mixed. Some people like the flavor and notice the sweetness, whereas others claim they can’t drink it because it tastes so bad.

Side Effects

There is a Prop 65 warning on Truvani Protein Greens, which warns that the formula may contain heavy metals that can potentially cause birth defects – this isn’t great!

However, even with that Prop 65 warning, the brand doesn’t provide information about who shouldn’t consume the formula.

I would strongly suggest that anyone who is pregnant, nursing, trying to get pregnant, under 18, with a medical condition, or taking medication should consult a doctor before consuming this formula.

Does Truvani Protein Greens Work?

The brand has supplied information about the amount of protein in the formula. The amount of protein per serving is 10g, and although this isn’t quite up to par with other greens protein powders on the market, it’s still a substantial amount of protein.

However, the greens within the formula is a different story.

Unfortunately, because there is absolutely no information (no, not even proprietary blend information), about the ingredients within the formula, it’s impossible to know how much of each ingredient exists within the formula.

However, as the serving size is 18g and 10g is lost to protein, we can assume that the greens ingredients total 8g!

The formula provides a fairly substantial dose of protein, but it's unclear if the greens ingredients will actually provide benefits.

Therefore, we can look at the recommended doses of these ingredients and see if a serving of 8g could hold sufficiently dosed ingredients.

This powder doesn’t actually contain a lot of potent green ingredients, and therefore, there’s only one ingredient that actually has a recommended dose.

This is spinach powder – it has an effective dose of 4–5g daily. Therefore, this ingredient could potentially be sufficiently dosed, and the other ingredients may also provide benefits.

Overall, the formula provides a fairly substantial dose of protein and the greens may provide benefits, but it cannot be confirmed and the greens aren’t particularly beneficial.

Big scoop of protein

Truvani Protein Greens Reviews

Although there are customer reviews of the Truvani Protein Greens formula on the Truvani website, the formula is also available on Amazon. To see the most honest, unbiased, and varied customer reviews possible, we’ll take a look at Amazon!

There are 45 ratings of the formula and it has an overall score of 4.5 out of 5 stars.

So, let’s take a look at some of these reviews!

I’ve tried SO many protein powders because I used to work for a gym and this tops EVERYTHING. It makes me feel so much better knowing everything is real, raw, organic and nutrient-filling!5-star review

I Needed to add protein to my diet and wanted to love the protein plus green, but I found the monkfruit to be too strong and hard to consume the drink overall. I found myself holding my breath to swallow and get it over with. Not pleasant.3-star review

I wanted to like this product because I like the convenience of everything being in one package. But the taste was not to my liking so I sent it back.1-star review

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Truvani offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on all of its products when you are buying them for the first time.

Where to buy Truvani Protein Greens?

You can buy Truvani Protein Greens from the Truvani website and from Amazon.

Is It Worth The Price?

One tub of Truvani Protein Greens contains 20 servings of formula and you can either buy the formula as a one-off purchase or on a subscription.

One tub of Truvani Protein Greens on a one-time purchase costs $49.99, meaning the cost per serving works out at $2.50.

One tub of Truvani Protein Greens on a subscription option costs $42.49, meaning the cost per serving works out at $2.12.

Although the formula contains 10g of protein per serving, I don’t think it’s worth the price that it’s sold at!

This is due to the fact that there is no information about the amounts of the other ingredients within the formula and the fact that it’s not packed with very potent ingredients!

My Final Verdict

Although the Truvani formula provides 10g of plant-based protein per serving and is certified organic, I wouldn’t recommend this formula.

This is because the ingredients label of the formula is completely undisclosed, and therefore it’s completely unclear how much of each ingredient exists within the formula.

If you’re looking for a protein formula, I would look elsewhere and choose one that provides more protein per serving. If you’re looking for a protein and greens formula, you could look for one with a fully disclosed ingredients label.

However, if you want to benefit from both greens and protein, I would recommend mixing a high-quality greens formula and protein powder that both have a fully disclosed ingredients label and provide sufficiently dosed ingredients!
