Effusio Sleep+ review

Effusio Sleep+ Review

Effusio Sleep + is a disc supplement that contains three herbal ingredients that are supposed to help you relax and sleep better.

Effusio is a supplement brand that sits under the Thorne Healthcare company.

The brand claims that by taking just one of these discs per day, consumers will benefit from improved sleep, feeling more refreshed during the day, and feeling calmer and more relaxed.

Effusio Sleep + is gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free. It is also packaged in a recyclable carton that doesn’t contain plastic – the brand is particularly eco-conscious.

This unique disc supplement is interesting and I’m keen to see if it really can provide the consumer with the benefits that a powder supplement would.

Effusio Sleep + First Impressions

The Effusio website is modern, sleek, and eye-catching – I like it. There’s a wide range of information all across the website, which is great to see, and there’s an engaging blog too!

Looking at Effusio Sleep +, the branding looks vibrant and interesting, and I’m definitely intrigued by the fact that it’s a disc supplement. There’s also an adequate amount of information about the product, which is wonderful.

I’m definitely excited to take a closer look at this supplement.

Background on Effusio/Thorne/Nutrativa LLC

The company behind the Effusio Sleep + supplement is complex.

Effusio is a supplement brand that sits under Thorne Healthtech, a merger of Onegevity and Thorne. However, the LLC behind Effusio is called Nutrativa LLC – it’s all a little confusing!

Paul Jacobson is the CEO of Thorne, and it’s headquartered in New York. Effusio was founded at the end of 2019.
Alongside Effusio Sleep +, the brand also produces a Prebiotic + disc supplement.

Effusio Sleep + Benefits

There’s actually a substantial dose of information about the Effusio Sleep +, which is great to see!

The supplement is supposed to support natural hormone activity, promote relaxation, help the consumer stay asleep during the night, and help them to feel refreshed upon waking.

Additionally, the brand provides information about the benefits associated with each ingredient.

For example, “Chamomile has been used for centuries in traditional folk medicine in treating complaints related to sleep and anxious feelings because of chamomile’s calming properties”.

Effusio Sleep + Ingredients

Effusio Prebiotic contains just 4 main ingredients. Although three of these ingredients are produced by specific brands and two are complex ingredients, the amount of each ingredient is disclosed.

This makes it fairly easy to figure out the efficacy of the formula.

However, I’ll take a look at that later! First, let’s take a look at the ingredients label.

Here is the complete list of the Effusio Sleep + ingredients:

  • L-Theanine – 200mg
  • Chamomile Extract (flowering top) (Matricaria recutita) – 100mg
  • Melatonin – 1mg
  • Other Ingredients-Cellulose Powder, Glycerin (Vegetable Source), Quillaja Extract, Flavors, Pullulan, Oat Fiber, Purified Water, Spirulina Extract (Color), Stevia Extract (Leaf) (Rebaudioside A 95%), Carboxymethylcellulose Gum, Citric Acid.

Here is the supplement label:

How does Effusio Sleep + Taste?

Effusio Sleep + is Wild Blueberry flavored. The ingredients label says that the discs contain “flavors”, meaning they’re most likely not natural, since this isn’t disclosed. The discs also contain stevia leaf extract to sweeten them.

Although all of the reviews of the discs are positive, not all of them are positive about the taste of the formula – not everyone seems keen on it!

Side Effects

There are no side effects associated with Effusio Sleep +. However, the brand does suggest that if you are pregnant or nursing you should consult a doctor before consumption.

I would also recommend that if you have a medical condition or are taking medication you should also consult a doctor before consumption.

Does Effusio Sleep + Work?

Effusio Sleep + is unique in the fact that it’s a disc supplement. Since the brand does specify why they’ve chosen to use discs, it’s unclear if there is a scientific benefit to using a disc supplement.

In my opinion, I would assume that these discs will not be able to provide a substantial amount of ingredients.

However, the ingredients label is fully disclosed (albeit the “other ingredients” aren’t), therefore it’s possible to figure out the efficacy of the formula.

So, let’s take a look at some of the ingredients.

There’s 200mg of L-theanine per serving and since the recommended dose of this ingredient is 200mg, it’s sufficiently dosed!

It’s clear that not all of the ingredients within these discs are sufficiently dosed.

There’s 100mg of chamomile per serving and since the recommended dose of 900-1,200mg, this ingredient is clearly not sufficiently dosed.

Finally, there’s 1mg of melatonin per serving and the recommended dose of this ingredient is between 1-8mg, meaning that although it’s sufficiently dosed, it’s on the lower side of being sufficiently dosed!

Overall, it’s clear that not all of the ingredients within these discs are sufficiently dosed. Therefore this supplement may not provide the benefits that the brand claims it will.

Effusio Sleep + Reviews

Effusio Sleep + is not available on Amazon, where I typically take a look to see unbiased and honest customer reviews. However, the product is sold on Thorne and there are a few customer reviews on there.

So, we can take a look at some reviews on there!

However, be aware that these ingredients may be biased since they’re on the brand’s website.

Overall, Effusio Sleep + only has 9 customer ratings and the overall rating of the product is 4.5 out of 5 stars. There are no reviews that are less than 4 stars.

Let’s take a look at some of these reviews!

For me, I think I need more of the melatonin, but overall this does relax me. It tastes great and is easy to use.5-star review

Works perfect for me every time I need a little support getting to sleep. The big one for me with Sleep + over some other products in the past is that I wake up feeling refreshed and not groggy. So I hit the ground running to get the kids ready for school and start my day.3-star review

Although I find the flavor strange, the product is effective.1-star review

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Effusio doesn’t provide any money-back guarantee, and if you want to return the product, you have to do so within 14 days of purchase.

Where to buy Effusio Sleep +?

You can buy Effusio Sleep +from the Effusio website and from Thorne.

Is It Worth The Price?

One box of Effusio Sleep + contains 15 discs, therefore meaning one box will provide 15 servings.

You can either buy the supplements on a one-time purchase or on a subscription option.

One box of Effusio Sleep + on a one-time purchase costs $32, meaning the cost per serving works out at $2.13.

One box of Effusio Sleep + on a subscription costs the same initially, but refills cost $28.80, meaning the cost per serving on refills is $1.92.

Although certain ingredients within this supplement are likely to be sufficiently dosed, not all of them are, and all of the ingredients aren’t especially heavily weighted.

Therefore, since the formula is expensive, I don’t think it’s worth the price that it’s sold at.

My Final Verdict

Effusio is definitely an interesting supplement brand with super trendy branding and the team behind it clearly have great values concerning the environment.

However, unfortunately, not all of the ingredients within this disc supplement doesn’t are substantially dosed and therefore, it may not actually provide the benefits associated with this supplement.

Additionally, Effusio Sleep + is too expensive, in my opinion, due to the fact that not all of the ingredients are sufficiently dosed. It also only contains 3 ingredients – other sleep supplements tend to have more ingredients.

Overall, I would not recommend purchasing this supplement – it’s expensive for what it is and not all of the ingredients may provide you with the benefits associated with them since they’re not sufficiently dosed.

If you’re looking for a sleep supplement, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
