Youngevity Greens review

Youngevity Super Greens Review

Youngevity is a Californian based company that produces a wide range of health and wellness lifestyle products, with the Super Greens formula being one of the most popular products sold.

Youngevity Super Greens is a superfood formula containing super greens, fruits, grasses, extracts, probiotics, and enzymes. The formula is not only supposed to increase daily nutritional intake but provide the consumer with more specific benefits too, such as increased digestion and increased energy levels.

Although not the formula as a whole isn’t certified organic, most of the ingredients within the formula are, which is a really nice touch.

I’m super keen to look more closely at the Youngevity Super Greens formula, to see if it really is everything that the brand claims it is, or to see if it’s just good multi-level marketing in action!

If you’re also keen to take a closer look, check out my full Youngevity Super Greens formula below.

Youngevity Super Greens First Impressions

The first thing I think when I head to the Youngevity website is “this is a multi-level marketing company!”. Everything about the brand’s site just screams pyramid scheme, from the tabs labeled ‘rewards’ and ‘opportunity’ to the incentive contest advertisements.

I really don’t like multi-level marketing business models, so unfortunately straight away I feel turned off by the brand.

Looking at the Youngevity Super Greens product page, I get pretty much the same impression. There’s a lack of information, the content is eye-catching or particularly aesthetically pleasing.

Although it sounds like I’m being a little too harsh, I’m just being honest! Personally, I wouldn’t pick this super greens formula based on the first impression I have of it.

Other MLM greens companies I have reviewed:

Background on Youngevity

Founded in 1997, Youngevity is a multi-level marketing company that produces an incredibly wide range of health and lifestyle products, all designed with holistic wellness in mind.

Youngevity was founded and made immediately popular by well-renowned Dr. Joel Wallach. Dr. Wallach is a medical research pioneer, and although he started off his career as a veterinary practitioner, he grew to be a holistic, naturopathic doctor.

As the company name suggests, the main aim of Youngevity main is to keep people younger, for longer.

Although the Super Greens formula is one of the most popular products across the entire site, the company sells everything from household products and food and beverages to cosmetics and essential oils.

Youngevity Super Greens Benefits

Youngevity claims that the Super Greens formula will provide a wide range of health benefits for the consumer, and the brand even gives specific health benefits information about particular ingredients.

I really appreciate that the brand has gone to the effort of showing specific health benefits information about a selection of the ingredients, as it just gives consumers more in-depth knowledge about what this formula can actually do for them.

For example, the brand states that organic flaxseed provides a great source of nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, fiber, and omega-3s, which may support cardiovascular health.

Overall, the brand claims that the formula will increase energy levels, support the correct pH levels, support gut health, and push toxins from the body.

Youngevity Super Greens Ingredients

The Youngevity Super Greens formula contains 30 ingredients, including super greens, fruits, enzymes, and probiotics.

Unfortunately, although the formula is packed with impressive individual ingredients, they all exist within proprietary blends, therefore, they might be insufficiently dosed. However, more on that later of course!

Youngevity Super Greens ingredients label

First, let’s take a look at what the formula actually contains!

Check out the ingredients list below.

  • Superfood Botanical and Digestive Blend (4.4g) – Organic Flaxseed Fiber, FermPro® Organic Fermented Fruit and Veggie Blend [Apple, Blueberry, Carrot, Cranberry, Broccoli, Kale, Parsley, Spinach], Probiotics (Bacillus coagulans), Enzyme Blend [Cellulase (Trichoderma longibrachiatum), Protease (Aspergillus oryzae) Amylase (Aspergillus oryzae) Lipase (Candida rugosa)
  • Organic Green, Vegetables and Fruit Blend (3.075g) – Oat Grass Juice, Alfalfa Grass Juice, Carrot, Spirulina, Blueberry, Pomegranate Juice, Goji Berry Extract, Chlorella, Broccoli, Spinach, Kale, Acai Berry.
  • Other Ingredients – Beet Juice, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Organic Flavors, Rebaudioside A (from Organic Stevia rebaudiana Leaf).

Each serving is 8.5 grams which is okay for a single serving dosage.

How does Youngevity Super Greens Taste?

Youngevity Super Greens is supposed to have a fresh peppermint taste, and the brand has used maltodextrin, apple cider vinegar, organic flavors, and organic stevia leaf to create this flavor.

The formula does taste refreshing, but the natural taste of the super greens ingredients isn’t fully covered. For those that don’t like the sweetness of stevia leaf and maltodextrin, they might struggle with the taste of this formula.

Side Effects

Youngevity warns that if you’re pregnant, nursing, or taking medications, you should consult a doctor before consumption. In addition, the brand also says that this formula should be kept out of reach of children.

Does Youngevity Super Greens Work?

All of the ingredients within the Youngevity Super Greens formula exist within proprietary blends, which is a huge letdown!

Proprietary blends make it impossible for the consumer to know how much of any ingredient actually exists within the formula, also making it impossible to figure out whether it will actually provide the health benefits the brand claims it will.

Looking at these proprietary blends, there’s probably not a sufficient amount of every single ingredient within the formula.

Honestly, proprietary blends are my worst nightmare when it comes to supplements, and they should be yours too – fully disclosed labeling is so important!

Looking at these proprietary blends, there’s probably not a sufficient amount of every single ingredient within the formula.

For example, the recommended daily flaxseed dose is 10g, and the flaxseed in this formula sits in a blend containing 4.4g overall, meaning 10g of it certainly isn’t going to be in the formula.

Looking at spirulina, an ingredient I always tend to look at, the recommended daily dose is between 1-3g, and within this formula, it sits in a 3.075g blend. The minimum daily recommended dose might (although probably not) be getting met, but the higher end daily recommended dose definitely isn’t.

Unfortunately, it’s completely unknown whether this formula will actually work or not!

Youngevity Super Greens Reviews

Youngevity Super Greens are available on Amazon, so we can take a look at real customer reviews on there – although, there are only 2 reviews and 7 ratings!

Overall, the formula has a rating of 4.4 stars out of 5 stars. As mentioned above, there are only 2 reviews and 7 ratings. So, let’s take a look at the two available reviews!

Great Product. My skin has become clearer, my digestion is super, it adds to my energy, plus I'm getting my daily servings of vegetables. It's a great supplement, could mix a tiny bit better, but for greens has an excellent peppermint taster which I'm a big fan of. I'm also referring this to other people as well.5-star review

It’s a pretty good greens product. Not one of my favorite Youngevity supplements. It tastes good and mixes pretty well, but I just don’t feel like it gives me any noticeable benefits. Some of the Youngevity products, I feel instantly (BTT 2.0, Ultimate Enzymes, Osteo FX, Colloidal Minerals, Ultimate Selenium). This one, not really. It’s very expensive too. From what I’ve seen, I don’t think Dr. Wallach had anything to do with the formulation of this product. So that explains why I don’t feel it working very much. I think they should probably add some plant-based minerals or something to this product.3-star review

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Youngevity doesn’t offer a money-back guarantee, but does accept returns and will issue refunds up to 30 days after a product has been purchased.

Where to buy Youngevity Super Greens?

You can buy Youngevity Super Greens from the Youngevity website, from Amazon, from the MLM sellers, and other third-party online supplement retailers.

Is It Worth The Price?

One tub of Youngevity Super Greens contains 255g, which provides the consumer with 30 servings. One tub of the formula costs $58.99 if bought at retail price, which works out at a cost per serving of $1.96.

The formula is also available at a wholesale price of $46.95, for those that get involved with the pyramid scheme selling that the company does. This would work out at a cost per serving of $1.57.

At the retail price, the formula is pretty expensive, especially because the formula is made up of underdosed ingredients that exist in proprietary blends.

The wholesale price is obviously a lot cheaper, but you do have to be part of a multi-level-marketing company, so that’s a commitment that might not work out in your favor!

My Final Verdict

Overall, I have to say that I’m not a huge fan of this formula or the brand that produces it.

The formula doesn’t stand out in any aspect, but instead, falls short and fails to tick nearly every box. In addition, the fact that the company uses a multi-level marketing model just pushes me further from recommending it.

I know for a fact that there are super greens formulas on the market for the same price point, with fully disclosed ingredients labels that taste good, have full money-back guarantees, and tonnes of customer reviews. So, I would look elsewhere for a super greens formula.
