Green Magma Review

Green Magma Review

Green Magma, produced by Green Foods, is a superfood formula that provides the body with a large dose of chlorophyll.

There are only three ingredients within the formula, with the most important being organic barley grass juice, a potent ingredient that’s included in nearly every super greens formula on the market. It also contains organic maltodextrin and organic brown rice.

Green Foods claims that Green Magma improves and regulates digestion, supports the immune system, boosts energy levels and speeds up hair and nail growth, as well as improving the appearance of the skin.

I’m really keen to take a closer look at this three-ingredient formula and see if it really does pack the punch it claims to. Let’s take a look at my full Green Magma review below.

I tried over 40 brands: For the best greens powder check out my recommendations!)

Green Magma First Impressions

The first impression of the product itself is that it looks outdated. Green Foods has been incorporated since 1979, and I’m not sure if they have changed the branding since then.

In comparison to other super greens formulas I reviewed, it’s not the boldest or more engaging. However, I do think there’s something to be said for keeping things the way they are if that is what’s working.

Although the branding might not be very interesting, the level of information that can be found about the product on the site is good – it’s simple and informative for the consumer. The same level of information can be found across the range of products on the site and when it comes to learning more about the brand.

Green Foods also gives back to the world. The brand is partnered with One Tree Planted, an organization that plants trees all around the world, and they give a percentage (although not disclosed) of monthly profits to it.

Background on Green Foods

Green Foods was founded over four decades ago in 1979 and has been committed ever since producing the most powerful formulas with the least amount of ingredients necessary. All of the ingredients the brand uses are organic, and in this case, the formula is USDA certified organic, gluten-free, non-GMO, soy-free, wheat-free, and suitable for vegans.

Ten years before the company was founded, well-renowned doctor and researcher Dr. Yoshihide Hagiwara found that Barley Grass is one of the most potent and nutritious plants on the entire planet, and he was committed to bringing these health benefits straight to the consumer in powdered form.

The formula has never changed since it was created and obviously the brand has been incredibly successful since.

As well as the Green Magma formula the brand produces an array of supplements, from matcha and collagen to vegan proteins and even dog treats.

Green Magma Ingredients

The recommended serving size of Green Magma is 6g of the formula, or six tablets if you have the tablet form.

As mentioned previously, the formula only contains three ingredients. These three ingredients are Barley Grass Juice, Organic Maltodextrin (from organic tapioca), and Organic Brown Rice.

Although the amount of each ingredient isn’t showing on the ingredients list on the tub or website, the entire nutrient content is displayed.

Rather than the individual ingredients taking center stage, the amount of Chlorophyll in this formula is what stands apart. There’s 13mg (1.3g) of Chlorophyll per serving.

How does Green Magma Taste?

In an effort to make sure the formula stays as natural and raw as possible, there are no added flavorings, and therefore the taste isn’t going to compare to other super greens formulas on the market that are chocolate or berry-flavored for example.

The taste isn’t incredibly overpowering or too strong, it tastes similar to matcha tea.

Other greens available unflavored include:

Side Effects

There aren’t any side effect warnings on this product, and it can be used by the entire family. However, if you’re under 18 you should take a lower dosage, and if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding you should of course always consult a doctor before consuming.

Does Green Magma Work?

This formula really should work. In fact, the amount of chlorophyll in this formula is much higher than the average daily recommended dosage. This isn’t harmful, and this is just an average daily recommended dosage because there isn’t conclusive evidence about how much chlorophyll you should take per day.

According to Medical News Today, the chlorophyll daily recommended amount should be between 100 to 300mg, up to three times per day. There’s 13mg within this formula per serving, so the consumer will be reaping the benefits from it as they’re taking a sufficient dosage.

In the right amounts, chlorophyll can increase the quality of a person’s skin, aid with treating hemoglobin deficiencies, and it has shown the potential to be a type of cancer treatment.

The fact that other essential vitamins and minerals are also in the formula means that the consumer's immune system will be boosted, and they should have increased energy levels. The formula also contains active enzymes that will aid with digestion, so all of the benefits should be apparent to a consumer.

When it comes to the tablets, rather than having a single serving size of 6g, the consumer needs to take 6 tablets to ensure they are going to receive the benefits. Obviously, if you took less than 6 tablets, the formula may not work.

Green Magma Reviews

Green Magma is sold on Amazon, and there are 312 reviews of the product. Overall, the formula has a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5. Most people absolutely love the product for health benefits, but some people can’t get past the taste.

According to one review, after the consumer got in touch with Green Foods with regards to the taste, she was told that in recent years the brand has started to use Barley Grass from Utah instead of Japan. Perhaps this could be the reason it tastes more overpowering in recent years?

Let’s take a look selection of the reviews:

I ended up choosing this barley grass juice powder because it was one of the brands that tested lowest in heavy metals according to Mike Adams's lab results. I've been putting 2tsps of it in my smoothie for about a year now and for the first time in years I have not gotten sick once with a cold, flu or respiratory infection since I started it and suspect I will continue to make it through the rest of this winter and spring without getting sick either. I also feel less stiff and achy, workout recovery is faster, digestion feels better, migraines are down to only a few a year vs every month, and I wake up with energy and not tired in the morning and sleep fewer hours! I can't recommend it enough and will continue taking this for life.5-star review

It’s good and definitely makes me feel energized, but for the price, there are comparable products with more super green foods and probiotics.3-star review

I have bought this brand for a decade and have been really satisfied. The particular shipment of two was problematic. The taste was extremely salty. What did the company add to its mix? Is the provider not legitimate? Where does one ask for a refund when the product is not up to par?1-star review

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

It doesn’t seem like there is a money-back guarantee or return policy for Green Foods products.

Although the Terms of Use on the website mention a return policy, it is nowhere to be found. This seems like a shame for such a meticulous brand.

Where to buy Green Magma?

You can purchase Green Magma from the Green Foods website, Amazon, in Walmart stores, and from independent supplement retailers.

Is It Worth The Price?

There are three different sized tubs of Green Magma – 79g,150g, or 300g. The tablet tubs contain 250 tablets.

A 79g tub costs $17.62, at a cost per serving of $1.35. A 150g tub costs $32.99, at a cost per serving of $1.32. A 300g tub costs $54.99, at a cost per serving of $1.10.

One tub of tablets costs $27.51, at a cost per serving of $0.67.

..cheap in comparison to other super greens powders on the market… much lower number of ingredients within this formula.

There’s a 20% discount if you subscribe to receiving the formula. So, for example, a 300g tub would work out at $43.99, which is a cost per serving of $0.88, in comparison to $1.10.

The brand offers free shipping anywhere in the USA.

Every single option when it comes to Green Magma is cheap in comparison to other super greens powders on the market. However, you’ve got to think about the fact that there’s a much lower number of ingredients within this formula.

My Verdict

It’s clear that this formula is popular when you think about how long it’s been around for.

I liked the product, the brand is transparent with the consumer and it supplies an organic, natural formula. If someone was specifically looking for a Barley Grass or Chlorophyll formula, I would definitely point them in this direction.

However, I’m unsure whether this formula can really be deemed a super greens formula with so few ingredients. Nonetheless, it’s a potent, precisely crafted formula with a multitude of success.

If you're looking to easily and affordable way to consume barley grass then Green Magma could be a great option. But, if you're like me and want a potent greens formula then this won't be the option for you.
