Moon Juice SuperYou

Moon Juice SuperYou Review

Super You, by the brand Moon Juice, is a stress management formula. Unlike most of the other formulas that I review that exist in powdered form, the SuperYou formula comes in capsules.

Moon Juice claims that by taking the recommended amount (2 capsules) of SuperYou every day, your stress levels will decrease, your energy and mood will be boosted and your physical, mental and emotional fatigue will become lesser.

The modern world gives us all a lot of pressure and causes a lot of stress, whether it’s from working for too many hours in the day, being self-employed, or feeling like you have to earn a certain amount to keep your head above water

Stress not only takes a toll on your mind but on your body too, impacting your overall health and wellbeing significantly. So, when I came across the Moon Juice SuperYou tablets and saw what the brand claims the capsules can do, I felt compelled to take a look! I mean, who doesn’t want to take a supplement that’s going to eliminate, or at least lesser, stress levels?

So, in this article, rather than reviewing a super greens formula like I usually do, I’m going to be taking a closer look at stress-relieving capsules! If you’re keen to take a closer look too, check out my full review of Moon Juice SuperYou below.

Moon Juice SuperYou First Impressions

Taking a look at the Moon Juice website, I immediately appreciate the brand image – everything is beautifully curated, from the content to the visuals. I would say that it looks as if Moon Juice is targeting women more than men, but even as a man, I find the website and the brand as a whole, intriguing and appealing.

It’s clear that the brand’s aim is to aid with healing the body and the mind – the brand has really hit the nail on the head when it comes to aesthetics, as the website itself is calming!

However, the website isn’t just aesthetically pleasing, and there’s a lot of information about both the products and the brand itself!

Looking at the SuperYou capsules, my first impression is a positive one! Again, the branding of the capsule bottle itself is spot on, and there’s a wide range of informative content about the capsules, the ingredients within the formula, and the benefits of taking them.

I’m really looking forward to taking a closer look at the SuperYou capsules – so far, so good.

Background on Moon Juice

Moon Juice was founded in 2011 by Amanda Chantal Bacon. The brand started as a juice bar that contained adaptogenic herbal dust, in Venice, California. Nearly a decade later, Moon Juice now creates supplements, skin care products and has three stores!

Amanda Chantal Bacon, and the Moon Juice brand, is incredibly popular in California, especially in LA – Bacon is widely known as the Wellness Guru of the modern-day there.

SuperYou is one of the brand’s best-sellers, with other formulas such as Magnesi-Om, Collagen Protect, and Sex Dust being incredibly popular too.

Business is clearly booming for Moon Juice, with it reportedly taking $20 million in sales in 2018 alone.

Moon Juice SuperYou Benefits

There’s a lot of information about the benefits that the SuperYou capsules provide, and the brand even provides information about the main adaptogen ingredients and the benefits that come from these ingredients.

Moon Juice claims that the formula will reduce physical, mental, and emotional fatigue, boost mood and energy levels, improve focus, protect the body from oxidative stress, and aid with controlling stress-related weight gain.

Overall, the formula is supposed to help regulate cortisol levels and therefore lower the effects of stress that can cause overall wellbeing to take a hit.

Moon Juice SuperYou Ingredients

Each SuperYou serving size (2 capsules) contains 4 adaptogenic herbs and 6 other ingredients. The capsule itself is made from hypromellose (vegetable cellulose), so it’s vegan.

The amount of the 4 adaptogenic ingredients are fully disclosed, but the amounts of the other ingredients aren’t fully disclosed. Although this isn’t great, it’s not as bad as if the amounts of the main ingredients weren’t shown.

Of course, I’ll be taking a look at whether the ingredients are sufficiently dosed later on and whether the formula will actually work or not, but first, let’s take a look at the ingredients list!

Here is the complete list of Moon Juice SuperYou ingredients:

  • Shatavari (Asparagus Racemosus) Root Extract (450mg)
  • Organic Ashwagandha – (Withania Somnifera) Root and Leaf Extract (250mg)
  • Organic Amla (Phyllanthus Emblica) Fruit Extract (150mg)
  • Rhodiola (Rhodiola Rosea) Root Extract (3% rosavins & 1% salidrosides) (150mg)
  • Other Ingredients – Rice Flour, Capsule (Hypromellose), Organic Rice Hulls, Medium Chain Triglycerides, Organic Rice Bran Extract, Organic Gum Arabic, Organic Sunflower Oil

The ingredients within the capsules are bioactive, bioavailable, native grown, non-GMO, vegan, and sustainably sourced.

How to take Moon Juice SuperYou?

Since the SuperYou formula is available in capsule form, they don’t taste of anything. As long as you swallow the capsules quickly when you take them with water, you shouldn’t taste anything.

So, obviously, this is a good option for people that aren’t too keen on the taste of supplements in powdered form.

Side Effects

Moon Juice hasn’t warned about any side effects that the consumer may experience when taking SuperYou capsules. You shouldn’t experience any side effects as long as you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients within the formula.

As I always say, and especially when adaptogenic herbs are involved, if you’re under 18, pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or you’re someone that has a medical condition, you should consult a doctor before consuming a new supplement.

Does Moon Juice SuperYou Work?

Due to the fact that the main adaptogenic ingredients within the SuperYou formula don’t have singular, exclusive, scientific recommended daily doses, it’s hard to say if the formula will actually work or not.

However, there are general recommendations on the amount that should be taken for two of the ingredients, so let’s take a look at those.

The general optimal daily dose of Ashwagandha should be between 500-600 grams (Healthline), and with 250mg of it within the formula, it's underdosed and so may not work as claimed.

That said, there can be benefits of consuming Ashwagandha in lower amounts to reduce cortisol levels.

Some of the ingredients in the formula are in okay dosages but some of the ingredients are certainly underdosed.

The general recommended daily dose of Rhodiola should be between 200mg – 600mg daily, to reduce stress levels and increase performance, and with 150mg in the SuperYou formula, it might be slightly underdosed. However, this is just a general recommendation, so the amount in the formula might still actually provide benefits.

Since the herbs don’t have recommended doses, it’s impossible to say whether all of them will actually produce benefits or not.

As for the other ingredients within the formula, the amount of them isn’t shown by the brand, but they don’t seem to have anything to do with the benefits of the formula, so I do just wonder why these ingredients are even present.

Moon Juice SuperYou Reviews

Moon Juice SuperYou is available on Amazon, and there are 306 reviews of the product. Overall, the product scores an overall rating of 4.4 stars out of 5 stars.

Let’s take a look at the selection of customer reviews below.

I was looking for a multivitamin that would help in controlling stress-related weight gain and to boost my energy levels and I’ve found it in SuperYou. After the first month of taking it, I didn’t think I felt any difference after taking it, so I just wanted to give it time to build up in my system and I continued to take it and it’s been three months and I can see a difference in my mood as I’m more relaxed and self-aware. I have more energy and I don’t allow things to stress me out easily. This product really works. I’m also taking SuperHair too.
5-star reviewer

I’ve been taking these supplements for a while now and I have become a fan of the product. I feel more uplifted and focused after consumption and have been taking it regularly now. Only downside is that it’s fairly pricey and costs a lot to take regularly. My mother is a big fan as well and uses them herself! Would recommend , at the risk of the slightly raised pricing.3-star reviewer

I ordered this and didn’t feel any difference whatsoever.1-star reviewer

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Moon Juice doesn’t offer a money-back guarantee, but unused and unopened products are refundable within 45 days of purchase.

Where to buy Moon Juice SuperYou?

You can buy SuperYou from the Moon Juice website, from Moon Juice stores, from Sephora, from Amazon, and other third-party supplement retailers.

Is It Worth The Price?

One bottle of SuperYou contains 60 capsules, and with a serving size of 2 capsules, this means there are 30 servings in one bottle. One bottle costs $49.00, which works out at a cost per serving of $1.63.

You can choose to sign up for a subscription and save 10% and get free US shipping. This means that a cost per serving on a subscription would cost you $1.47.

This is a fairly expensive formula in comparison to other formulas on the market, especially for a formula that only contains 4 main ingredients. However, as these are potent adaptogenic herbal ingredients, I don’t think the formula is that overpriced.

The Bottom Line

Clearly, the Moon Juice brand has been incredibly successful over the last decade, and to be honest, I think that’s probably more due to the brand’s aesthetic and the growth in the herbal wellness market rather than the quality of the supplements the brand is selling.

It’s not necessarily that I think SuperYou is bad, but the results from consuming these capsules seem to vary drastically from person to person.

So, I would say that it’s difficult to leave a balanced review of SuperYou – it might work for you and change your life for the better, or it might not.

Personally, I don’t think that I would be spending money on stress-relieving capsules. Instead, I would take a super greens formula with adaptogenic herbs within it, so I was getting better value for money and receiving a nutrient boost at the same time.

  1. I really like reading a post that will make people think. Also, many thanks for permitting me to comment!

  2. I’m currently trying to find out why I can’t take super you. I’m bipolar, it says don’t take it if you’re bipolar. I didn’t see that until a month and a half in. (*very small print on the side of the bottle – I should have noticed it but didn’t.)
You claim there are no warnings, I just wanted to let you know that isn’t accurate.

Can confirm: bipolar people should not take it. At first it seemed to help after a while I was angry and irritable all the time. Not sure why. Still trying to figure that out.
