Red Tonik vs Superbeets: Comparison, Benefits and Drawbacks

In this review I’ll be comparing two reds powders, Red Tonik vs Superbeets, to find out which has the best ingredients list, pricing structure, and health benefits.

Feel free to read my Red Tonik Review here, or my review of Superbeets here.

In this review, we’ll be looking closely at how the two measure up.

What To Look For In Reds Powder

Reds powders are powered by a variety of (mostly) red ingredients, including beetroot, strawberries, and raspberries.

Rich in dietary nitrates, reds powders are typically designed to help your body produce more nitric oxide. (Source)

Reds powders differ from greens powders like Bulletproof Greens and Opti-Greens 50 in various ways.

In previous reviews we’ve covered the differences between green powders and reds powders.

We’ve also gone into the highest-rated red powder supplements.

What Is Red Tonik?

Red Tonik Tub

Red Tonik is one of the market’s newest red superfoods powders.

It contains just 13 ingredients — a far cry from the 20-30+ ingredients in many of today’s reds powders.

There is a good reason though, we wanted to ensure all ingredients were scientifically dosed to have the health benefits advertised.

All the ingredients are shown on the label, with full disclosure – so no proprietary blends – you get to read EXACTLY what you consuming in this supplement.

Red Tonik’s Pros and Cons

Pros

  • 100% disclosed ingredients
  • Keto, paleo, vegan, and vegetarian-friendly
  • Industry-leading 1-year money-back guarantee
  • Tested by independent labs
  • Made in a cGMP facility

Cons

  • Price on the higher end, but cheaper buying the bundles
  • Doesn’t have as many reviews as other reds powders

Full disclosure:

I designed Red Tonik after noticing far too little transparency among other superfood powders.

I noticed these powders often hid their active ingredients within proprietary blends, which prevented me (or any other prospective customer) from knowing what’s actually in them!

One of my biggest goals in creating Red Tonik is to set a better, more transparent standard for supplement makers.

What Is Superbeets?

Humann Superbeets Tub

Superbeets is a simple reds powder made by the brand HumanN.

Unlike many other superfood brands, HumanN feels decidedly scientific.

They rolled out Superbeets (then known as Neo40) back in 2011 and began clinical testing on it in 2014.

One of HumanN’s major claims to fame is that physicians and clinically proven effective recommend Superbeets.

Even the brand’s website feels medical-grade.

Based on some of their branding, you might think HumanN is an online pharmacy!

HumanN’s stated goal is to make functional NO2 supplements for “every human across every phase of life.”

Superbeets Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Surprisingly affordable
  • Recommended by physicians
  • Clinically tested by the University of Texas Health Sciences Center

Cons

  • Features proprietary blends
  • The relatively simple formula may not have much nutrient diversity

Superbeets Ingredients List

Superbeets contains, well…pretty much just beets.

It features two types of beetroot powder: fermented and non-fermented.

The product’s focus on beets makes it, unlike other reds powders. This may not be the best choice if you're looking for a reds superfood supplement.

While it may not contain quite as wide a spectrum of nutrients, it’s likely more effective at boosting nitric oxide production!

HumanN states on their website:

“SuperBeets is highly concentrated, scientifically formulated to provide optimum levels of essential Nitric Oxide, and clinically researched.”

Just one teaspoon of Superbeets is said to:

  • Support healthy circulation
  • Promote nitric oxide production
  • Support healthy blood pressure levels
  • Promote improved natural energy and stamina

Below is the full ingredients list for Superbeets.

As you can see, beets are its only active ingredient:

  • Non-GMO Beetroot Powder
  • Non-GMO Beetroot Powder (fermented)
  • Natural Back Cherry flavor
  • Malic Acid
  • Magnesium Ascorbate
  • Stevia Leaf Extract

Red Tonik vs Superbeets: Top Benefits

Red Tonik and Superbeets confer different types of health benefits.

Not surprising given they’re intended for different things!

Here’s a closer look.

Red Tonik Top Benefits

Red Tonik is designed to:

  • Increase NO2 production
  • Boost cardiovascular health
  • Reduce ‘bad’ cholesterol levels
  • Increase antioxidant production
  • Improve your tolerance to stress
  • Reduce chronic inflammation
  • Improve overall energy levels
  • Increase innate immunity
  • Boost productivity

Does Red Tonik really do all these things, though?

Based on its ingredients list…yes.

Each and every one of Red Tonik’s 13 ingredients are present in clinically-proven quantities.

Take Red Tonik’s cordyceps content for an example of this.

The 1mg/serving of cordyceps it contains is right in line with studies showing that 1-4mg doses are most effective. (Source)

Superbeets Top Benefits

Head on over to Superbeet’s webpage and you’ll see tons of studies and scientific references.

It’s obvious that Superbeets’ manufacturers are really trying to look to the research!

There’s a catch, though: we don’t know if Superbeet’s formula contains enough beetroot to fully activate the benefits these studies describe!

Red Tonik vs Superbeets: How Do They Taste?

Reds powders tend to be loved by some and hated by others, at least when it comes to taste.

How do Red Tonik and Superbeets measure up?

Red Tonik Taste

I like the cranberry-ish taste of Red Tonik, as do most people who try it.

If you don’t you may have better luck mixing it into a smoothie or some old-fashioned orange juice.

Superbeets Taste

SuperBeets comes in two flavors: Original and Black Cherry.

What do customers think of them?

More info on that below.

Red Tonik vs Superbeets: Where to Buy

You can buy Red Tonik on their website here, and Superbeets on their website here or on Amazon here.

Red Tonik vs Superbeets: Are They Reasonably Priced?

Red Tonik Pricing and Refund Policy

Red Tonik is slightly more expensive than the average red powder.

Discounts are available if you buy in bulk, however:

  • $77 per month / $2.56 per serving
  • $197 per 3 months / $2.18 per serving (and free shipping)
  • $337 per 6 months / $1.85 per serving (and free shipping)

On the bright side, Red Tonik has an exceptional money-back guarantee policy.

Customers who don’t like it can return their bottle within one year and get a full refund (minus shipping costs).

We’re not aware of any other company that provides such a lengthy returns period!

Superbeets Pricing and Refund Policy

  • $39.95 per month / $1.33 per serving
  • $79.90 per 3 months / $0.89 per serving (buy 2 get 1 free)
  • $149.90 per 6 months / $0.83 per serving (buy 4 get 2 free)

“We want you to be fully satisfied [with Superbeets],” HumanN explains on their website.

“If you are not satisfied, you may return the item within 90 days from the order date for a full refund of the purchase price.”

90 days is pretty solid, especially considering that many brands only offer a 1-month return window.

What Customers Say About Red Tonik And Superbeets

Red Tonik Top Reviews

Red Tonik is so new to the market that it hasn’t yet amassed hundreds or thousands of reviews.

That being said, the reviews it’s gleaned so far seem quite positive:

Andy from the US says:

it’s been a game changer for my health & fitness.

While Paul from the UK loves the flavor and appearance of Red Tonik:

Love the colour, the taste. Awesome way to get your beets and berries in one glass!

Superbeets Top Reviews

Superbeets is an established product, so it’s not especially surprising that it’s gathered up thousands of customer reviews.

On Amazon these reviews average 3.8/5 stars.

48% of Amazon reviewers gave 5 stars, while 20% gave just 1 star.

One reviewer provides a nuanced glimpse into Superbeets’ pros and cons:

To be fair. I only used this about a week. Most likely not long enough to see a difference. Patience isn't a friend of mine. So, I do plan to start on a regimen again, and at least finish the container. Which…speaking of the container.
It's very small. Smaller than I imagined it would be. For the price, I just assumed there would be more.
The taste is NOT that good. At least if you aren't a fan of beets to begin with. Which, I am not. But since I heard all the raving and good reviews I wanted to give it a shot. I have many issues, so I hoped it would work well for me. Especially with my high blood pressure. Again, I can't 110% give it a bad review as far as it working or not as I didn't even finish a week of it. But the taste isn't great, yet it isn't awful either. It can be gotten past […].

Other reviewers, however, say Superbeets is almost too energizing! Take a look:

Both my husband and I have felt a difference in energy. as a matter of fact, I dare not take it too late in the day or I will be too keyed up to lay down and sleep at night. So I take mine very early in the morning.

Red Tonik vs Superbeets: My Verdict

Despite the relatively low cost of Superbeets, I’m not sure you’re getting proven value for your money.

The fact that Superbeets has been around for so long is also a mixed bag, as we can read numerous reviews from customers who found it ineffective.

Red Tonik, on the other hand, is still relatively unproven. And while it’s more expensive than Superbeets, new customers have the tremendous benefit of knowing exactly what’s in it. I know which product I’m putting my money on…
