Bowmar Nutrition Greens claims to fill your nutritional gaps with their superfood-packed formula. Does this supplement pack enough of a nutrient punch though?
As I find with 99% of the greens supplements I review, the ingredients are within a proprietary blend and so we don’t get to know the real ingredient dosages.
Does this beg the question is there enough in this formula to work?
If you're considering trying this supplement then read my Bowmar Nutrition Greens review to see if this is the answer to filling any gaps in your diet.
What is Bowmar Greens?
Bowmar Nutrition Greens is a superfood supplement that contains 13 vegetables and fruits in one easy-to-take serving with water, protein, or your favorite smoothie.
Each tub contains 75 servings and so can be either shared with family members or taken over 2 ½ months.
The branding on the tubs reminded me of few fitness greens brand such as Smashin Greens and Greens Freak.

Background on Bowmar Nutrition
Sarah Bowmar and Josh Bowmar are co-owners of Bowmar Nutrition which started selling supplements in 2018 and has grown its range to over 50 different brands including capsules, powders, and gummies.
They both started a podcast called “The Bowmar Show” in 2019 that openly talks about their lives as well as discusses business and health tips. Since started the show has over 500k downloads and growing!
The couple resonates with their audience and helps to spread awareness of their supplement business.
Bowmar Nutrition Being Sued
Bowmar Nutrition is currently fighting a claim made by a dozen customers over the claims made by one of their protein supplements.
They claim that Bowmar lied about the protein content in their supplement.
Testing performed by reputable laboratories has established that some of the products manufactured by Bowmar have 10% to 67% fewer grams of protein than advertised.
You can read more about this ongoing case here.
Bowmar Greens Ingredients
These powdered greens contain one of the smallest serving sizes I have seen in a supplement (and I have checked a LOT now!).
Each serving consists of between 3800mg and 4380mg of ingredients depending on the flavor consumed. The matcha flavor is 500mg larger due to the additional bulk of the matcha flavor.
In the tub are 13 vegetable and fruit “sources” within a proprietary blend.
On the label is no nutritional information on the vitamin and minerals within each serving. There will be some within the ingredients but it seems no additional ones are added.
Bowmar’s formula has 10 calories per serving which come from the 3 grams of carbs.
- Kale – high in vitamins A, C, and K and minerals
- Broccoli – contains powerful antioxidants
- Spinach – packed with antioxidants and beta-carotene (how much spinach should I eat a day?)
- Barley – aids in digestion
- Flaxseed – improve digestive health, lower blood pressure and bad cholesterol
- Wheatgrass – antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties
- Blueberries – Packed with antioxidants and phytoflavinoids; anti-inflammatory
- Apple – good source of antioxidants, fiber, water
- Lemon – aids in detoxification and improves skin
- Spirulina – protects against allergic reactions
- Chlorella – boosts antibody count, promotes weight loss, and fights cancer
Here is the supplement facts label and available flavors (Berry, Lemon, Match, and Peach):
How does Bowmar Greens Taste?
There are four flavor options to choose from; Berry, Lemon, Peach, and Matcha (in sachet form only as it's a discontinued flavor).
According to Bowmar Nutrition, it is recommended to consume their Greens on an empty stomach before your first meal of the day. However, you can drink it at any time of the day, especially as there is no caffeine in the formula.
Side Effects
There will unlikely be any side effects from taking these greens. I believe this is mostly because the ingredient dosage is very low and so there aren’t going to be scientifically dosed.
As with any supplement, if you have any pre-existing medical condition or are taking prescription medication then you should first seek medical advice before taking this brand.
Do Bowmar Greens Work?
The effectiveness of any supplement is down to its ingredients. Bowmar Nutrition does not disclose the exact weights of each ingredient and so we have no idea if sufficient amounts are available.
This is incredibly frustrating when considering how effective Bowmar Greens could be, we simply don’t know.
The ingredients in Bowmar Greens are fairly standard a mixture of greens, fibers, and fruits. The order of the ingredients listed in the proprietary blend indicates the size in the formula, and so we know that Kale makes up the largest ingredient in the blend, along with Chlorella is the smallest amount.
This is unfortunate because those ingredients listed last (Chlorella and Spirulina) are some of the most beneficial but to see them listed last is disappointing.
According to the research (Healthline) Spirulina in dosages of 1-3 grams per day has a number of health benefits, such as may reduce blood pressure, improve muscle strength and size, along with anti-inflammatory properties.
This is why you can find Spirulina in many supplements, especially green superfoods.
The dosage in Bowmar will be way too low to hit the required 1-3 grams per serving.
The same goes with Chlorella, a single-cell green freshwater alga that is one of the most nutritious algae on the planet, packed with protein, iron, vitamin B12, vitamin C, antioxidants, omega-3s, and fiber.
You can find Chlorella supplements as the main ingredient or in powdered greens too, but often they are in dosages way higher than this brand.
According to Heathline, recommended dosages of Chlorella range from 1.2 grams up to 3 grams per day.
If your diet is incredibly low in nutrients then taking Bowmar Greens could have an overall health benefit if taken for a long period of time. But otherwise, the low dosages of the key ingredients make it unlikely you would notice much impact.

Bowmar Greens Reviews
I like to get customer reviews from a few sources to get a fair balanced picture from people who have purchased and tried it.
I couldn’t find Bowmar Greens on Amazon and so can only see the reviews on the Bowmar Nutrition website.
As you would expect, all seven of the available reviews show 5 stars!
I adore the lemon greens. I know most people make greens into a shot but the lemon you can truly just sip them. I take my 1 scoop in 16oz of water and add a little fresh lemon juice and its my favorite way to end my night.Mollie, 5-stars
The Berry flavored greens are so good and refreshing. I actually crave it every morning! Dreau, 5-stars
I do not believe a perfect supplement exists, even my own supplement may not appeal to everyone.
Often it's not necessarily about the ingredients themselves but the flavor.
Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy
The returns policy depends on whether you have opened or unopened tubs.
Opened tubs only last for seven days after delivery – this is not long with which to try out your greens and a lot less than other brands on the market.
Unopened tubs have up to 30 days with which to request a refund.
There is a re-stocking fee of $9.95 for returns for both opened and unopened tubs.
Where to buy Bowmar Greens?
You can buy Bowmar greens directly from the Bowmar Nutrition shop.
Is It Worth The Price?
A one-time purchase of Bowmar Greens costs $44.95 with the option of saving 5% on their subscribe and save option ($42.74).
When available, I typically see subscription options offered for a bigger discount of 10-20% depending on the brand.
The cost of each serving works out to be around $1.50. This is the range for the average price of a greens powder.
On the plus side, each tub contains 75 servings and so will last longer than most brands, other than say Green Vibrance, which typically last 30-days.
In terms of value for money, although these greens are very affordable I don’t believe they reflect good value considering the tiny serving size.
Verdict on Bowmar Greens
If you’re eating a varied and balanced diet on most days and want to “top up” on some greens then Bowmar Greens may be worth considering.
The concern I have is that I don’t believe the serving size is big enough to get scientifically dosed amounts of each of the 13 fruit and vegetables.
With so many other brands offering a more nutrient-dense formula there are simply too many other better options to ignore.
LifeHacker Guy Greens Recommendation
Some Call This An "Extreme" Step...
Most super greens supplements are disappointing.
I learned this the hard way. After creating this blog in 2018, I spent months buying and testing all the most popular brands.
I wasn’t happy with the results so I did something you might call "extreme"....
In 2019 I created my own brand that ticks every single box of what I look for in a super greens product:
- No hidden ingredient amounts - we have full disclosure labelling, so you know EXACTLY whats inside
- Ingredient amounts that make a difference - we include the minimum effective amounts supported by research, and most of the time, MORE
- Ingredients that help immunity, boost mental clarity and shake off brain fog - making for a much more productive and happy lifestyle
No more worrying about ineffective ingredients or too low dosages. I finally have a product I KNOW does the job it’s made to do.
I use it every day and, after years of battling Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), I now have my energy (and my life!) back.
The good news? I made my brand available to the public so you can see and feel the difference for yourself.
