Ghost Vegan Protein review

Ghost Vegan Protein Review

Ghost Vegan Protein is a fully vegan protein powder that contains an array of plant-based proteins – pea protein concentrate, organic pumpkin protein, and watermelon seed protein.

The protein powder is vegan-friendly, soy-free, gluten-free, and the amount of protein within the formula is fully disclosed.

This plant-based protein will help your body recover, helps you build muscle, supports the repair of tissue, and more.

Ghost Lifestyle is an incredibly popular US supplement brand and the vegan protein powder is the brand’s best-seller, so I’m keen to take a closer look at the formula!

So, if you’re thinking of purchasing Ghost Vegan Protein, or you also want to take a closer look at it, check out my full Ghost Vegan Protein review below.

Ghost Vegan Protein First Impressions

The Ghost Lifestyle website is a little loud for my liking, but I have to say, it’s visually pleasing, it’s sleek, it’s eye-catching, and it has some interesting aspects – it has a Youtube channel integrated onto the site and the brand has its own app!

This is all pretty impressive.

Looking at the Ghost Vegan Protein Powder, I feel pretty much the same! The branding is incredibly bold and not really my style, but it’s intriguing and it looks pretty edgy and cool.

Overall, my first impression of both the brand and the supplement is positive. I’m excited to take a closer look.

Background on Ghost Lifestyle

Ghost Lifestyle was founded in 2016 by Ryan Hughes and Daniel Lourenco. Both Hughes and Lourenco have backgrounds in the health and fitness industry and they wanted to create a range of truly powerful and top-quality supplements. So, they created Ghost.

Alongside the popular Ghost Vegan Protein, the brand is well known for doing collaborations with popular brands. For example, the brand has done supplement collaborations with Space Jam, Sour Patch Kids, and Warheads. The brand also produces apparel.

Ghost Vegan Protein Benefits

Ghost Lifestyle actually doesn’t provide any information about the benefits associated with the Ghost Vegan Protein formula. Instead, the brand simply states that the formula is, “ a premium, fully disclosed vegan protein blend with industry-leading flavors”.

Although the brand doesn’t say it a protein powder is supposed to help your body recover, helps you build muscle, supports the repair of tissue, and promotes the production of enzymes and hormones.

Ghost Vegan Protein Ingredients

The Ghost Vegan Protein formula contains several ingredients, but just three main types of plant-based protein.

Although the brand doesn’t provide information about the amounts of each ingredient within the formula, it does provide information about the amount of protein in each serving, on the bottle of the tubs.

Therefore, it’s clear to see how much protein you’re actually consuming per serving.

However, I’ll be looking more closely at the efficacy of the formula later in this review! First, let’s take a look at the ingredients label.

Here is the complete list of the Ghost Vegan Protein ingredients:

  • Pea Protein Concentrate, Organic Pumpkin Protein, Watermelon Seed Protein, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Peanut Flour (adding 1g protein), Sunflower Creamer (High Oleic Sunflower Oil, Tapioca Starch, Tapioca Dextrin, Natural Flavors, d-Alpha Tocopherols), Salt, Sucralose, Xanthan Gum.

Here is the supplement label:

How does Ghost Vegan Protein Taste?

The general verdict on the taste of the Ghost Vegan Protein formula is that it tastes great! People seem to really love the taste and sweetness of the formula and claim that it’s super smooth when mixed with water or milk.

Unfortunately, the formula contains artificial flavors and is artificially sweetened with sucralose, which could be the reason that it tastes so good!

Although sucralose is seemingly OK in small doses, it’s certainly not a healthy or natural way to sweeten a formula. It’s unclear which artificial flavorings are used for the formula, but they won’t be healthy!

Side Effects

There are no side effects associated with the Ghost Vegan Protein formula.

However, I would suggest that if you are pregnant, nursing, on medication, or have a medical condition, you should consult a doctor before consuming the formula.

Does Ghost Vegan Protein Work?

Although the protein within the Ghost Vegan formula is disclosed, the formula does not have a fully disclosed label.

Therefore, apart from the different types of plant-based proteins, it’s impossible to know how much of each ingredient actually exists within the formula

However, since this is a protein powder, we can take a look at how much protein exists within the formula and see if it’s substantially dosed.

There’s 15g of pea protein, 7.86g of organic pumpkin protein, and 3.33g of watermelon seed protein in the formula. Although, the brand provides information about actually how much protein exists within the formula.

Although it’s unclear how much of every ingredient exists in the formula, the amount of protein in the formula is disclosed and substantially dosed.

Therefore, overall, the total amount of protein within the formula is 20-21g (depending on the flavor).

The recommended amount of protein per day is 0.36g per pound of body weight, so for the average man, this is 56g per day and for the average woman this works out at 46g per day.

Therefore, this blend provides nearly half of the daily recommended dose of protein for both men and women. Therefore, the formula provides a substantial dose of protein per serving.

So, although it’s unclear how much of every ingredient exists in the formula, the amount of protein in the formula is disclosed and substantial and since this is a protein powder, it’s clearly effective!

Ghost Vegan Protein Reviews

Ghost Vegan Protein is available on Amazon and therefore we can take a look at the customer reviews on there – they are more likely to be unbiased and honest than reviews on other sites.

The formula has 29 customer ratings and an overall star rating of 4.6 stars out of 5 stars.

So, let’s take a look at some of these reviews!

This is hands down the BEST vegan protein powder on the market. Taste is out of this world. I love it!5-star review

The product was great tasting and nongritty compared to other vegan protein powders. I’ve searched and searched for a good-tasting one for a while, this is definitely a new favorite! Mixes well with water if need be.5-star review

Mix ability was horrible, the flavor was even worse. Tasted stale if that’s even possible for a chocolate flavor. Very disappointed. Their vegan peanut butter was even worse. Their pre-workouts on the other hand are far more superior in taste.1-star review

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Ghost Lifestyle does not provide a money-back guarantee. If you want to return a product you have to do so within 15 days of purchase and it has to be in its original packaging and unopened.

Where to buy Ghost Vegan Protein?

You can buy Ghost Vegan Protein from the Ghost Lifestyle website, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, and Amazon.

Is It Worth The Price?

One tub of Ghost Vegan Protein contains 28 servings of formula.

Unlike other brands that provide discounted subscription options, the protein is only available for purchase at one price.

One tub of Ghost Vegan Protein costs $44.99. Therefore, the cost per serving works out at $1.61.

Although the formula does contain sucralose (which I’m not keen on), since each serving contains 20-21g of plant-based protein, I have to say that I think the formula is worth the price that it’s sold at.

Protein powders are typically more expensive per serving than this one!

My Final Verdict

Ghost Vegan Protein provides a substantial dose of plant-based protein, is reasonably priced for a protein powder, tastes great, and has a selection of positive customer reviews.

However, unfortunately, the formula is artificially flavored and sweetened with sucralose.

This is a real shame as these ingredients within the formula may actually be detrimental to the consumer’s health!

Overall, if you definitely want to purchase the Ghost Vegan Protein Powder, go for it.

However, you are probably better off purchasing a plant-based protein powder that doesn’t contain artificial flavors and sweeteners!

Sakara Protein + Greens is a protein and super greens powder that contains a variety of plant-based proteins and a selection of potent algae and grass ingredients.

The formula is not only supposed to provide a variety of micronutrients and proteins but it’s also supposed to support lean muscle, provide satiation, push toxins from the body.

Sakara Protein + Greens is a USDA certified organic, gluten-free, dairy-free, non-GMO, and vegan formula, meaning it’s suitable for a wide range of people!

Sakara Life is a big and incredibly popular company, and therefore, I’m keen to take a closer look to see if this protein and greens formula is really all that it’s hyped up to be!

So, if you’re thinking of purchasing Sakara Protein + Greens, or you also want to take a closer look at it, check out my full Sakara Protein + Greens review below.

Sakara Protein Greens Pouch

What is Sakara Protein + Greens?

Sakara is a huge company and the website reflects that – it’s packed with information, it’s beautifully designed, and the visuals and branding is spot on! I really like the website.

The Protein + Greens formula also makes a good first impression, the pouch looks sleek, bold, and eye-catching!

However, it would’ve been nice to see more factual information about the formula on the product page – it’s all a little glossy and lacking real facts for me.

Background on Sakara

Sakara, known fully as Sakara Life, is a nutrition and lifestyle brand that was founded in 2012 by best friends, Danielle Duboise and Whitney Tingle.

The brand started by providing a plant-based meal delivery service all over the US, and it’s still best known for that, but it does also produce nutritional supplements and gift collections.

Sakara Protein + Greens Benefits

Sakara Protein + Greens is supposed to support lean muscle, provide satiation, push toxins from the body, and provide a high dose of protein!

Additionally, the formula is supposed to provide high concentrations of phytonutrients, iron, enzymes, and magnesium.

Sakara Protein + Greens Ingredients

Sakara Protein + Greens contains 11 ingredients, including flavoring ingredients and sweeteners. The ingredients label is not fully disclosed due to the fact that the formula contains proprietary blends.

Therefore, it’s hard to work out the efficacy of the formula!

However, I’ll be looking more closely at that later in this review. First, let’s take a look at the ingredients label.

Here is the complete list of the Sakara Protein + Greens ingredients:

  • Plant Protein Blend – 17g –Organic Pea Protein, Organic Hemp Protein, Organic Pumpkin Seed Protein, Organic Sesame Protein.
  • Super Greens Blend – 700mg –Organic Spirulina, Organic Wheatgrass, Organic Organic Barley Grass, Organic Chlorella.
  • Other Ingredients –Organic Coconut Milk Powder, Organic Coconut Sugar (1% Stevia Blend), Organic Vanilla Powder.

Here is the supplement label:

Sakara Protein Greens Label

How does Sakara Protein + Greens Taste?

The Sakara Protein + Greens formula is flavored with vanilla flavoring and coconut sugar.

However, unfortunately, customer reviews concerning the taste of the formula are not very positive!

A lot of customers claim that the formula tastes like vomit, which obviously isn’t ideal!

Side Effects

There are no side effects associated with the Sakara Protein + Greens formula.

However, I would suggest that if you are pregnant, nursing, on medication, or have a medical condition, you should consult a doctor before consumption.

Does Sakara Protein + Greens Work?

The Sakara Protein + Greens formula does not have a fully disclosed label due to the fact that it is made up of proprietary blends. Therefore, it’s impossible to know how much of each ingredient actually exists within the formula.

However, we can take a look at the blends and the recommended doses of the ingredients within them, to see if they have the ability to be sufficiently dosed.

So, let’s take a look at the Plant Protein Blend! This protein blend contains several plant-based proteins, but the overall dose of protein is 17g.

The recommended amount of protein per day is 0.36g per pound of body weight, so for the average man, this is 56g per day, and for the average woman, this works out at 46g per day.

Therefore, this blend provides nearly half of the daily recommended dose of protein, which is incredibly good!

The formula provides a high dose of protein, but the greens within it can’t be sufficiently dosed.

However, looking at the Super Greens Blend, it’s clear that the ingredients within the blend are not sufficiently dosed!

The blend totals 700mg, but the best spirulina brands have the recommended dose of 1g or more, wheatgrasses are 3g, and chlorella is 2g. Therefore, it’s clear that the formula does not provide sufficiently dosed ingredients.

So, overall, the formula provides a high dose of protein, but the greens within it can’t be sufficiently dosed. Therefore, this may as well just be marketed as a protein powder.

Big scoop of protein

Sakara Protein + Greens Reviews

Although there are nearly 1,000 customer reviews of the formula on the Sakara website, they may be biased.

However, Sakara Protein + Greens is available on Amazon and therefore we can take a look on there to see honest reviews of the formula!

Overall, the formula has 36 global ratings and it scores 3.6 stars out of 5.

Unfortunately, it seems that many people that have ordered through Amazon have received expired batches, which could be the reason behind the low overall rating!

So, let’s take a look at some of these reviews!

Had complicated surgery 5 years ago. Suddenly, Sephora began carrying this (on-line only) and for some reason the description made me buy this. The results were immediate. No pain, clear skin. Have been able to stop using 2 medications. I have bought this at Sakara, Sephora, and Amazon. This is a wonderful product.5-star review

After reading the reviews I thought I wouldn’t be given an expired batch… but I was. Really disappointing.2-star review

This is the worst thing I have ever tasted in my life. As two of the other reviewers state, it tastes like literal vomit. I’m not sure how something like this can even be on the market. It leaves a taste in your mouth afterward like you just threw up. Please do not waste your money trying this product. I wish I had read the reviews prior to purchasing. It is absolutely disgusting! Undrinkable!

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Sakara doesn’t provide a money-back guarantee, and they do not offer returns either.

Where to buy Sakara Protein + Greens?

You can buy Sakara Protein + Greens from the Sakara website, or from Amazon.

Is It Worth The Price?

You can buy Sakara Protein + Greens in a 10-single-serving sachet box or a 30-serving pouch.

Additionally, if you want to purchase a 30-serving pouch of formula, you can either purchase it on a single purchase or on a subscription.

  • A 10-single-serving sachet box has a cost per serving of $4.50
  • A 30-serving pouch on a one-time purchase costs $3.00
  • A 30-serving pouch on a subscription option costs $2.67

Since the formula definitely doesn’t provide a sufficient dose of greens ingredients, I think the formula is sold at a particularly high price!

A cost per serving of $4.50 is incredibly high!

However, if you’re looking for a plant-based protein powder, the 30-serving pouch on a subscription option is more reasonably priced at a cost per serving of $2.67.

My Final Verdict

My first impression of Sakara was really positive, and to be honest, I’m sure the company does provide some good quality supplements.

Regarding the Sakara Protein + Greens formula, I'm in two minds about it.

If you’re looking for a plant-based protein formula, this could be a good choice for you since it contains a high dose of protein.

However, if you’re looking to benefit from the greens within the formula, you’re going to be disappointed.

Unfortunately, there’s no way that the greens within the formula are sufficiently dosed. So, you’re not going to benefit from them!

It’s also a very, very expensive formula!

So, if you’re looking for a plant-based protein powder and you’re not bothered about the price, this might be a good formula for you. However, if you’re looking to benefit from greens, look elsewhere!

Truvani Protein Greens is a powdered supplement that contains 10g of plant-based protein and a selection of super greens ingerdients.

This USDA-certified organic greens formula is supposed to boost protein and veggies whilst on the go and has been made suitable for the widest range of people possible.

The formula is dairy-free, lactose-free, soy-free, verified non-GMO, certified gluten-free, and certified vegan.

Truvani is a popular supplement brand in the US, and the Protein Greens formula is one of the brand’s best-sellers. Therefore, I’m keen to look closer at this organic protein and greens formula!

Truvani Protein Greens Pouch

What is Truvani Protein Greens?

There is a lot going on on the Truvani website; honestly, I’m not crazy about it! I like that there’s a lot of informative content about the brand and the products, but I’m not keen on the site's design.

The Protein Greens formula looks interesting. I like the branding of the pouch and there’s a lot of information about why the brand created this formula. However, the product page lacks sufficient information about the benefits of the formula, which is a shame.

Overall, my first impressions of Truvani and the Protein Greens formula are so-so.

Background on Truvani

Truvani was founded in 2018 by food blogger Vani Hari, marketing genius Derek Halpern, and operations professional Devin Duncan. The company specializes in plant-based protein powders and vitamin supplements.

At the beginning of 2021, the company started to produce personal care daily-use products alongside the supplement range and it hopes to grow this selection of products.

Truvani Protein Greens Benefits

There’s not much information about the benefits of the Truvani Protein Greens formula, which isn’t ideal! Truvani claims that the formula boosts vegetables and protein whilst you’re on the go!

Truvani Protein Greens Ingredients

Truvani Protein Greens contains 13 ingredients in total, but unfortunately, the ingredients label is not disclosed, and therefore it’s unclear how much of each ingredient exists within the formula.

But I’ll look closer into the formula's efficacy later. First, let’s take a look at the ingredients label.

Here is the complete list of the Truvani Protein Greens ingredients:

  • Organic Pea Protein, Organic Vanilla Powder, Organic Spinach Powder, Organic Kale Powder, Organic Broccoli Powder, Organic Banana Powder, Organic Broccoli Sprouts, Organic Mung Bean Sprouts, Organic Quinoa Sprouts, Organic Alfalfa Sprouts, Organic Pumpkin Protein, Organic Monk Fruit, Organic Chia Protein.

Here is the supplement label:

Truvani Protein Greens Ingredients

How does Truvani Protein Greens Taste?

Truvani Protein Greens is not flavored specifically but it does contain vanilla powder and is sweetened with monk fruit extract.

Customer reviews concerning the taste of the formula are pretty mixed. Some people like the flavor and notice the sweetness, whereas others claim they can’t drink it because it tastes so bad.

Side Effects

There is a Prop 65 warning on Truvani Protein Greens, which warns that the formula may contain heavy metals that can potentially cause birth defects – this isn’t great!

However, even with that Prop 65 warning, the brand doesn’t provide information about who shouldn’t consume the formula.

I would strongly suggest that anyone who is pregnant, nursing, trying to get pregnant, under 18, with a medical condition, or taking medication should consult a doctor before consuming this formula.

Related: Heavy metals in greens powders

Does Truvani Protein Greens Work?

The brand has supplied information about the amount of protein in the formula. The amount of protein per serving is 10g, and although this isn’t quite up to par with other greens protein powders on the market, it’s still a substantial amount of protein.

However, the greens within the formula is a different story.

Unfortunately, because there is absolutely no information (no, not even proprietary blend information), about the ingredients within the formula, it’s impossible to know how much of each ingredient exists within the formula.

However, as the serving size is 18g and 10g is lost to protein, we can assume that the greens ingredients total 8g!

The formula provides a fairly substantial dose of protein, but it's unclear if the greens ingredients will actually provide benefits.

Therefore, we can look at the recommended doses of these ingredients and see if a serving of 8g could hold sufficiently dosed ingredients.

This powder doesn’t actually contain a lot of potent green ingredients, and therefore, there’s only one ingredient that actually has a recommended dose.

This is spinach powder – it has an effective dose of 4–5g daily. Therefore, this ingredient could potentially be sufficiently dosed, and the other ingredients may also provide benefits.

Overall, the formula provides a fairly substantial dose of protein and the greens may provide benefits, but it cannot be confirmed and the greens aren’t particularly beneficial.

Big scoop of protein

Truvani Protein Greens Reviews

Although there are customer reviews of the Truvani Protein Greens formula on the Truvani website, the formula is also available on Amazon. To see the most honest, unbiased, and varied customer reviews possible, we’ll take a look at Amazon!

There are 45 ratings of the formula and it has an overall score of 4.5 out of 5 stars.

So, let’s take a look at some of these reviews!

I’ve tried SO many protein powders because I used to work for a gym and this tops EVERYTHING. It makes me feel so much better knowing everything is real, raw, organic and nutrient-filling!5-star review

I Needed to add protein to my diet and wanted to love the protein plus green, but I found the monkfruit to be too strong and hard to consume the drink overall. I found myself holding my breath to swallow and get it over with. Not pleasant.3-star review

I wanted to like this product because I like the convenience of everything being in one package. But the taste was not to my liking so I sent it back.1-star review

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Truvani offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on all of its products when you are buying them for the first time.

Where to buy Truvani Protein Greens?

You can buy Truvani Protein Greens from the Truvani website and from Amazon.

Is It Worth The Price?

One tub of Truvani Protein Greens contains 20 servings of formula and you can either buy the formula as a one-off purchase or on a subscription.

One tub of Truvani Protein Greens on a one-time purchase costs $49.99, meaning the cost per serving works out at $2.50.

One tub of Truvani Protein Greens on a subscription option costs $42.49, meaning the cost per serving works out at $2.12.

Although the formula contains 10g of protein per serving, I don’t think it’s worth the price that it’s sold at!

This is due to the fact that there is no information about the amounts of the other ingredients within the formula and the fact that it’s not packed with very potent ingredients!

My Final Verdict

Although the Truvani formula provides 10g of plant-based protein per serving and is certified organic, I wouldn’t recommend this formula.

This is because the ingredients label of the formula is completely undisclosed, and therefore it’s completely unclear how much of each ingredient exists within the formula.

If you’re looking for a protein formula, I would look elsewhere and choose one that provides more protein per serving. If you’re looking for a protein and greens formula, you could look for one with a fully disclosed ingredients label.

However, if you want to benefit from both greens and protein, I would recommend mixing a high-quality greens formula and protein powder that both have a fully disclosed ingredients label and provide sufficiently dosed ingredients!

Your Super Skinny Protein is a superfood and plant-based protein powder. The formula contains moringa, spirulina, alfalfa, and two types of plant-based protein, with the branding claiming that the formula is supposed to help with weight loss and recovery post-workout.

The formula is available to a wide range of people since it’s gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, non-GMO, suitable for vegans and those on paleo diets. The formula is also USDA-certified organic.

The formula has become incredibly popular over the last few years, so I’m really keen to take a closer look and see if this superfood and protein mix really can provide benefits to the consumer.

If you’re thinking of purchasing this formula or you’re also intrigued to take a closer look at it, check out my full Your Super Skinny Protein review below.

Your Super Skinny Protein Tub

Your Super Skinny Protein First Impressions

The Your Super brand is incredibly impressive at an initial glance – the branding is wonderful, the brand story is inspirational, and the supplements look powerful.

I’m also incredibly impressed that the brand uses eco and ethical friendly containers and ingredients for their formulas.

The Skinny Protein looks interesting, especially since it’s a plant-based protein formula and has such a high number of positive reviews!

However, I’m slightly concerned about the fact that there’s very little information about the benefits of the formula and the amounts of the ingredients within it.

So, I’m certainly keen to take a much closer look at it and see how it fares.

Background on Your Super

Your Super was founded in 2015 by couple Kristel de Groot and Michael Kuech. After Michael was diagnosed with cancer at the young age of 24, Kristel began to make homemade superfood powder mixes.

The couple realized how powerful the formulas were and decided to start the business to provide others with their potent mixes!

The company is B Corp certified, meaning it is a high-standard business in terms of social corporate responsibility. It’s also partnered with Action Against Hunger and with each product purchased, a life-saving food bar is provided to children in need.

Your Super Skinny Protein Benefits

Your Super doesn’t claim that the formula provides a wide range of benefits, it does state that it will help consumers to lose weight and speed up recovery time after workouts.

Although the brand does specifically single out the ingredients within the formula and provides information about the origins of each ingredient, there’s no information about the benefits associated with each ingredient, which is a shame.

Your Super Skinny Protein Ingredients

Your Super Skinny Protein contains just 5 ingredients in total. Unfortunately, there is no information about the amounts of any of the ingredients within the formula.

Therefore, it’s impossible to know if the formula will actually contain sufficiently dosed ingredients or not, and subsequently whether it will be effective or not.

However, I’ll be taking a much closer look at the efficacy of the formula later on in this review.

First, let’s take a look at the ingredients label.

Here is the complete list of the Your Super Skinny Protein ingredients:

  • Hemp Protein* (Romania), Pea Protein* (Spain), Moringa* (Tanzania), Spirulina* (Germany) and Alfalfa* Powder (Germany).
    *Organic Certified

Here is the supplement facts label:

Your Super Skinny Protein Label

How does Your Super Skinny Protein Taste?

There are no flavoring ingredients or sweeteners within the Your Super Skinny Protein formula. Therefore, the formula tastes quite pungent and bitter.

However, it’s not overpowering, so the taste can be hidden by other ingredients – pop it in a smoothie, juice, or milkshake if you’re not keen on the taste.

Side Effects

There are no side effects associated with the Your Super Skinny Protein formula, and the brand doesn’t provide information about who should and who shouldn’t consume the formula.

I would suggest that those who are taking medication, those with medical conditions, and those who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult a doctor before consumption.

Does Your Super Skinny Protein Work?

The Your Super Skinny Protein ingredients label is not transparent at all – there is no information about the amounts of any of the ingredients within the formula! Therefore, it’s absolutely impossible to work out the efficacy of the formula.

However, since we know the serving size of the formula, we can try and take a look at the ingredients within the formula that have standard recommended doses, in order to see if enough of each ingredient actually exists within the blend!

The formula is fairly low in the amount of protein.

The serving size of the formula is 15g. The recommended dose of spirulina is 1-3g, the recommended dose of moringa is 1.6 – 2.2g, and the recommended dose of alfalfa is 5-10g.

Therefore, the minimum standard recommended dose of the ingredients without the protein in the formula is 7.6g. If all of these ingredients were sufficiently dosed, this would mean there would only be 7.4g of protein in the formula.

Typically in protein powders, there is around 20-25g of protein. Therefore, the protein within this formula isn’t very substantial (and that’s if the other ingredients are sufficiently dosed!).

A much better alternative if you're looking for a complete meal that contains a hefty source of protein is Ka'chava.

Overall, although there is a potential for the ingredients in the formula to be sufficiently dosed, the formula doesn’t actually provide a very substantial amount of protein.

In addition, since the ingredients label is not fully disclosed, it’s impossible to actually know for definite whether the formula will be effective.

Big scoop of protein

Your Super Skinny Protein Reviews

Although there’s a wide range of reviews of the Skinny Protein formula on the Your Super website, these reviews could be biased.

So, since the formula is available to buy on Amazon, we can take a look on there to see more honest, unbiased customer reviews.

There are 518 ratings on Amazon and overall, the formula scores 4.3 stars out of 5 stars.

Let’s take a look at a selection of these reviews.

I love this protein powder because the ingredients are incredible! I'm a holistic health coach and look for a protein that has all essential amino acids with no fillers and no added sugar, gluten or dairy. I also love the fact that there are added superfoods to detoxify and support weight loss. The flavor is great in my morning smoothie too! 5-star review

Hate the taste, but a plus is that the powder is very fine and blendable, and not very griddy at all. I use the Skinny Protein in my green smoothies and the aftertaste is super weird and noticeable. I found that if I add a squeeze of honey it cuts the flavor a little bit more and is more drinkable. I can’t imagine using it with minimal ingredients, I definitely need stuff to cut the flavor. And even then I fight through it a little. 3-star review

I don’t understand how this product helps with anything. I’ve had several types and brands of protein and detox powders in the last few years. I add to smoothies as a morning meal. The taste is fine but there is absolutely no sense of satiation or filling quality that most powders have. I was hungry within the hour after the recommended serving. I’m active and fit but overindulged during the holidays. Was hoping this would help kick start a return to good habits, reduce cravings which it mentions as a feature- and lose a couple of pounds. I’m not at all impressed and will not be purchasing again. 1-star review

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Your Super offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on all of its products.

Where to buy Your Super Skinny Protein?

You can buy the formula from the Your Super website, from Amazon, and from Target.

Is It Worth The Price?

Skinny Protein formula is sold in tubs that contain 26 servings of formula and is sold either as a one-off purchase or a subscription.

One tub of Skinny Protein costs $39.90 on a one-off purchase, meaning the cost per serving works out at $1.53.

One tub of Skinny Protein costs $31.92 on a subscription option, meaning the cost per serving works out at $1.23.

Although the cost of the formula is fairly inexpensive, the fact that the ingredients label contains no information about the amounts of each ingredient within the formula and the amount of protein within the formula is undisclosed means that I don’t think it’s worth the price that it’s sold at.

My Final Verdict

Although I really like the Your Super brand, I’m unimpressed by the Skinny Protein formula.

The fact that the formula’s ingredients label has no information about the amounts of the ingredients in the blend is enough to put me off – I need to know how much of each ingredient exists within a formula if I’m going to consume it!

In addition, I’m still unsure how the formula is supposed to help with weight loss since the brand doesn’t provide a lot of information about the benefits associated with the formula.

In addition, the taste of the formula isn’t great.

Overall, if you’re looking for a powerful superfood formula and you want a dose of protein, I would recommend buying a fully disclosed protein formula and a fully disclosed superfood formula (both of which contain sufficiently dosed ingredients!) and mixing the two – this way, you’re guaranteed to benefit.

Popular US-based vegan supplement brand Plant Fusion has a protein range that contains protein formulas that are all slightly different – certified organic, lean, with added fiber, specifically formulated for women, and the complete protein blend.

For this review, I’ll be focusing on the most popular protein formula produced by Plant Fusion – the Complete Protein formula.

This formula contains 21g of amino acid-infused plant-based protein that the brand claims will support energy levels and build and repair muscles. There are also superfoods and digestive enzymes within the blend.

Plant Fusion Complete Protein is vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, kosher, and non-GMO.

This is a really well-known vegan protein powder on the market, so I’m really keen to take a closer look at it and see if it really can live up to its popularity!

I especially appreciate the brand’s blog, showcasing many articles on the benefits of being plant-based and in particular the benefits associated with plant-based protein.

Every type of Plant Fusion Protein looks good, but I do feel as if there could be more information about the formulas and the ingredients within them on these pages.

Background on Plant Fusion

Plant Fusion was co-founded by Phil Vigeant and Greg Cooper, two individuals that both grew up in their family-owned natural product stores. When they both met each other, they instantly connected over the industry but shared disappointment about the number of generic supplements made from synthetic ingredients out there.

The pair co-founded Plant Fusion in 2009, and over the years it has grown exponentially, with the brand featured in the likes of Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Good Housekeeping, and Yoga Journal.

All of the products that the brand creates are plant-based, with the most popular product being the selection of Plant Fusion Protein!

Plant Fusion Protein Benefits

The Plant Fusion Complete Protein formula only has two main benefits. The formula is supposed to help support energy levels and build and repair muscles.

However, seeing as the formula contains digestive enzymes that make the formula easy to digest, it may also provide certain benefits to the digestive system.

Plant Fusion Protein Ingredients

Plant Fusion Complete Protein contains 11 main ingredients, excluding flavoring ingredients and sweeteners. All of the ingredients within the formula exist within proprietary blends, which makes it hard to figure out the efficacy of the formula.

However, the brand does confirm on the Complete Protein product page that there is 21g of protein within the formula.

I’ll be taking a closer look at the efficacy of the formula later in this review though. First, let’s take a look at the ingredients label.

Here is the complete list of the Plant Fusion Protein ingredients:

  • PlantFusion Amino Acid Infused Protein Blend – 25g – Pea Protein Isolate, L-Isoleucine, L-Leucine, L-Valine, L-Glutamine, Artichoke Powder, Organic Sprouted Amaranth Powder, Organic Sprouted Quinoa Powder, Whole Algae Protein.
  • PlantFusion Proprietary Enzyme Blend – 100mg – Alpha Galactosidase, Bromelain.
  • Other Ingredients –Natural Flavor, Stevia Extract, Powder (Reb.A), Organic Tapioca Powder, Silica, Guar Gum Powder, Lucuma Powder, Monk Fruit Extract Powder, Yacon Powder.

Here is the supplement facts label:

Plant Fusion Protein Label

How does Plant Fusion Protein Taste?

Plant Fusion Complete Protein is available in five different flavors – Natural (No Stevia), Creamy Vanilla Bean, Rich Chocolate, Red Velvet Cake, Cookies and Cream.

The formula is flavored with natural flavorings and sweetened with stevia leaf extract, lucuma powder, yacon powder, and monk fruit extract.

The general consensus from most customers is that the formula tastes overbearingly sweet and therefore is not tasty, which seems understandable since the brand has decided to dedicate four sweeteners to the formulas that are flavored.

If you’re not keen on an overly sweet formula, you would be best going with the Natural (No Stevia) flavor of the protein.

Side Effects

Although there are no side effects or warnings associated with this formula, the brand suggests those who are taking medication, those with medical conditions, and those who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult a doctor before consumption.

The brand does state that all Plant Fusion products can be consumed by children since the ingredients are all-natural, but does state that children will not need the same full serving size as adults do. Instead, they will typically need between ⅓ – ½ of a full serving size.

Although this could be completely safe, if you are thinking of giving a child the formula, I would suggest consulting a doctor before doing so.

Does Plant Fusion Protein Work?

All of the ingredients within the Plant Fusion Complete Protein Blend exist within proprietary blends. However, the brand has provided the information that the formula contains 21g of protein.

So, let’s start with that and take a look at the efficacy of the protein within the formula!

The recommended amount of protein per day is 0.36g per pound of bodyweight, so for the average man, this is 56g per day and for the average woman this works out at 46g per day.

Therefore, this formula provides nearly half of the daily recommended dose of protein, which is great – in addition, 20-25g of protein is typical for most protein powders.

So, the amount of protein within the formula is substantial and will provide benefits to the consumer.

However, the same cannot be said for the other ingredients within the formula – they cannot be proved or disproved since the amount of each ingredient is not disclosed.

The formula clearly contains a substantial dose of protein.

Although, the other ingredients within the formula are not specifically involved in providing the benefits that the brand claims are associated with the formula. Therefore, it’s less important that these could potentially be underdosed.

Overall, the formula clearly contains a substantial dose of protein, however, it would have been great to see a fully disclosed ingredients label to determine the efficacy of the other ingredients within the formula.

Plant Fusion Protein Reviews

Plant Fusion Complete Protein is available on Amazon and therefore we can take a look on there to see a selection of unbiased customer reviews.

The formula has more than 7,500 customer reviews and scores a rating of 4.3 stars out of 5 stars.

The main positive of this formula seems to be that it supports energy levels, but the main negative seems to be the taste of it.

Let’s take a look at a selection of these reviews.

I have vanilla and chocolate. Have used Plant Fusion brand for years. I juice every day. I can see a difference when I use this and stop for a few days, the fatigue sets in. So, I can say this protein powder gives me energy. Ingredients are safe and non-GMO. Tastes great. I mix it with fresh fruit, yogurt, ice cream – makes great healthy shakes, and keeps the hunger away. I will definitely be buying from this seller again. 5-star review

The Vanilla is so gross. The Stevia taste is incredibly strong. The resulting flavor is somewhat synthetic and leaves a really bad aftertaste. I'm in my first trimester of pregnancy, nauseas a lot of the day, and was looking for a good meal replacement. I liked this brand before, the unflavored one was perfectly flavorless, not nearly as grainy too for some reason. I hate this one and am sorry I can't return it cause I can even drink it, it actually makes me gag (its the only food that has done that to me so far) I may just have to throw it away. 3-star review

This protein powder tastes awful! It is sickenly sweet. The worst part was that it was really hard to digest. I normally have no issues with digestion, but this stuff tied my system in knots. I thought that was strange considering that this powder is supposed to be easy to digest. On a better note, it mixes easily into smoothies. I didn't like it, but others obviously do. 1-star review

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Plant Fusion offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you’re not happy with any of the brand’s products you can return them to Plant Fusion within 30 days of receipt for an exchange or refund.

Where to buy Plant Fusion Protein?

You can buy the formula from the Plant Fusion website, from Amazon, and Walmart.

Is It Worth The Price?

Plant Fusion Complete Protein is sold in a tub that contains 15 servings. You can either buy the formula as a one-off purchase or you can subscribe to receiving it regularly and benefit from a discount.

One tub of Plant Fusion Complete Protein on a one-time purchase costs $33.99, meaning the cost per serving works out at $2.27.

One tub of Plant Fusion Complete Protein on a subscription costs $28.89, bringing the cost per serving down to $1.93.

Although the formula does contain proprietary blends, I think the formula is reasonably priced since it contains 21g of plant-based protein.

Protein powder is typically more expensive than superfood powders, so I’m happy to see that this one is reasonably priced!

My Final Verdict

Overall, I really like the Plant Fusion brand and the Complete Protein formula in particular. Although the formula is made up of proprietary blends, there is a substantial amount of plant-based protein within the blend, making it effective at supporting energy levels and building and repairing muscles.

The formula is made by a well-known, transparent brand, has positive customer reviews, a good money-back guarantee policy, and is fairly priced.

The only part of this formula that isn’t great is the fact that it contains five sweeteners and therefore tastes overly sweet and unappetizing!

Nonetheless, overall, I’m happy to recommend this formula – it’s a great choice for plant-based individuals looking for extra protein!

Clean Green Protein is a plant-based protein and enzyme formula, produced by the well-known US-based brand, Clean Machine.

The formula contains LENTEIN, an innovative, plant-based protein with amino acids also identical to those found in animal protein. It also contains a vegan enzyme blend!

Clean Machine claims that with these two revolutionary, potent ingredients at the center of the formula, it will be the perfect plant-based protein powder, reducing bloating, maximizing muscle growth, supporting recovery, and more!

The formula is suitable for a wide range of people, as it’s dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian, and non-GMO.

I’m really keen to take a closer look at this formula and see if the plant-based protein really can live up to the animal product alternatives.

What is Clean Green Protein?

I’m really impressed with the Clean Machine website at first glance!

The branding is spot-on, there’s so much informative content about the products and general nutrition which is really great to see, there’s a focus on sustainability, the brand partners with Food For Life Global – it’s all very promising!

Looking at the Clean Green Protein, I’m still impressed and I think this is definitely a formula that would stand out to me in a store.

However, the thing that I like the most about the first impression that I get from the Clean Green Protein is that it’s made with LENTEIN, a planet-conscious, sustainable plant-based ingredient!

I’m definitely looking forward to taking a closer look and seeing if it’s really as good as it seems on first impressions!

Background on Clean Machine

Clean Machine was founded in 2013 by Geoff Palmer, who had up until this moment, been in the natural foods & nutritional supplements industry for over 25 years.

Clean Machine was created by Palmer with the goal of producing innovative, nutrient-rich, competitive plant-based supplements.

The brand is also committed to being as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible, using plant-conscious alternative ingredients such as LENTEIN.

Clean Green Protein Benefits

Clean Machine is incredibly informative about Clean Green Protein, and therefore there’s adequate information about the benefits associated with the formula.

The brand claims that the formula will help support overall health and wellbeing, reduce bloating, speed up and maximize muscle growth, and support the recovery, rebuild, and repair of the body.

Clean Green Protein Ingredients

Clean Green Protein contains under 10 ingredients.

The majority of the ingredients are not fully disclosed on the ingredients label and there’s much more information about micronutrients than actual ingredients on the label – this doesn’t make working out the efficacy of the formula easy!

However, I’ll be taking a closer look at the efficacy of the formula later in this review.

First, let’s take a look at the ingredients in the Clean Green Protein formula.

Here is the complete list of the Clean Green Protein ingredients:

  • Other Ingredients – LENTEIN Complete Plant Protein (Lemna minor, Wolffia spp.), Pea Protein, Natural Vegan Flavor, Purified Sea Salt, Guar Gum, Stevia Leaf Extract, Prohydrolase Vegan Enzyme Blend, Gum Acacia.

Here is the supplement facts label:

How does Clean Green Protein Taste?

Clean Green Protein is Vanilla Chai flavored, and there’s a lot of mixed reviews when it comes to the taste of this formula!

Some people think it’s overly sweetened (the brand uses stevia), others think it tastes too much of chlorophyll and natural greens, and others really like the Vanilla Chai flavoring.

If you like sweet formulas, this is probably a good choice for you!

Side Effects

Clean Machine doesn’t provide any warnings associated with the Clean Green Protein formula.

I would suggest, as I do with all supplements, that if you are under 18, pregnant, breastfeeding, on medication, or you have a medical condition, you should consult a doctor before consuming this supplement.

Does Clean Green Protein Work?

As mentioned above, the majority of the ingredients are not fully disclosed on the ingredients label and there’s much more information about the micronutrients that derive from the ingredients than the actual ingredients themselves.

For example, the brand has shown how much protein exists within the formula but hasn’t specified how much Lentein plant protein or pea protein exists.

The brand also hasn’t added information about the specific ingredients within the enzyme blend in the formula.

It’s unclear whether all of the ingredients are sufficiently dosed.

The fact that the entire ingredients list isn’t fully disclosed makes it harder for the efficacy of the formula to be worked out.

Nonetheless, the formula does contains 20g of protein which is a substantial amount, as the recommended amount of protein per day is 0.36g per pound of body weight.

Therefore, for the average man, this is 56g per day and for the average woman this works out at 46g per day – this formula supplies nearly half a woman’s daily protein intake which is great!

The chlorophyll within the formula hits standard doses of chlorophyll (between 100mg-300mg), at 127mg, and the 14.6mg dose of lutein goes way above the standard dose of 5mg.

Overall, the formula clearly contains a substantial dose of protein and a wider range of micronutrients.

However, it would be really great to know how much of each ingredient actually exists within the formula so the efficacy was clearer.

Looking at this ingredients label, it’s unclear whether all of the ingredients are sufficiently dosed. Therefore, it’s unknown whether the formula will actually work.

Clean Green Protein Reviews

Clean Green Protein is available on Amazon, and therefore we can take a look on there to see a selection of unbiased customer reviews.

Overall, the formula scores 4 stars out of 5 stars, with 57 ratings in total.

Let’s take a look at a selection of these reviews.

I have tried a lot of vegan protein powders and they always have a grainy texture even when mixed in a smoothie. This one does not and is the best so far. It gives me energy and I feel great after drinking it. My only recommendation is the company needs to come out with more flavors.
5-star reviewer

I appreciate the nutrients and ingredients however, I cannot stomach the taste. I'm trying to find ways to make this taste better. It tastes more like “green powder” than Vanilla or chai. It’s hard to find the right combo to make this taste good. I'm open to suggestions. 3-star reviewer

I have tried many many plant-based protein powders and was excited to try this one. It came yesterday and I was SO DISAPPOINTED. It tastes terrible!!! It mixes ok but the flavor is basically inedible. All I can say is that the positive reviews must be from people acquainted with the company owner. 1-star reviewer

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Clean Machine offers a 60-day money-back guarantee.

Where to buy Clean Green Protein?

You can buy the formula from the Clean Machine website and from Amazon.

Is It Worth The Price?

One tub of Clean Green Protein contains 20 servings, and you can either purchase the formula one a one-time purchase or on a subscription. If you sign up to the subscription, you save!

One tub of Clean Green Protein on a one-time purchase costs $49.99, meaning the cost per serving works out at $2.50.

One tub of Clean Green Protein on a subscription costs $44.99, bringing the cost per serving down to $2.25.

Although the does contain 20g of protein and most of the ingredients are fully disclosed, the fact that some of the ingredients aren’t fully disclosed is disappointing to me and therefore I’m unsure whether I would say the formula is worth this price.

My Final Verdict

I really like the Clean Machine brand, and to a certain degree, I would recommend this formula – it’s plant-based, it contains a substantial amount of protein, it’s produced by a trustworthy brand, and it has positive customer reviews.

However, there are two things that are holding me back from recommending this formula.

The first thing being the fact that the micronutrients within the formula are shown on the ingredients label but the ingredients themselves aren’t is a huge letdown when it comes to brand transparency.

The second thing is that the formula does have a pretty expensive cost per serving, especially on a one-off purchase.

Overall, if you have the wallet to buy this formula and you're willing to risk the fact that you will potentially not enjoy it or benefit from it, then you may want to take the chance.

However, if you want to know exactly what you’re consuming and you want to be certain about the efficacy of a supplement, look for a high-quality formula with a fully disclosed ingredients label.

Superfood Protein is a protein powder that contains functional mushrooms and adaptogens, produced by the well-renowned and incredibly popular supplement brand Four Sigmatic.

The formula is the perfect plant-based alternative to whey protein that not only provides you with a substantial dose of protein but also provides you with a wide range of functional mushrooms and adaptogens.

This mixture of intriguing ingredients is supposed to support the repair of the muscles, boost immune function, support focus and mental clarity, and more.

The formula is suitable for a wide range of people, as it’s 100% USDA certified organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan.

I’m really keen to take a closer look at this formula and see if the hype that circles around this product and this brand is actually justified!

Four Sigmatic Superfood Protein First Impressions

I’m really impressed by the Four Sigmatic brand and the Superfood Protein formula at first glance at the website. The brand looks forward-thinking, modern, sleek, and professional – all things I look for in brands.

However, it’s not just the branding of the site that looks impressive, it’s also packed with informative content which is super beneficial for potential customers.

The Superfood Protein formula looks interesting, especially since I assumed the protein formula was going to be packed with traditional superfoods but is actually packed with adaptogenic mushrooms! I’m also intrigued by the packaging – the formula comes in a can!

I’m definitely keen to take a closer look at the formula to see if it really is as forward-thinking as it seems.

Background on Four Sigmatic Superfood Protein

Four Sigmatic was founded in 2012 by Tero Isokauppila and Mikko Revonniemi. The pair, from Finland, originally started the brand there and expanded to the US in 2015, where the company is now based.

The brand specializes in creating products made from functional mushrooms that have been used for centuries in traditional Eastern medicine and provide incredible health benefits.

With annual revenues of $61.7 million, the brand has certainly taken the health world by storm with it’s mushroom formulas! The most popular products sold by Four Sigmatic are the Mushroom Ground Coffee, the Cacao Mix, and the Superfood Protein.

Four Sigmatic Superfood Protein Benefits

Four Sigmatic doesn’t just provide information about the overall benefits of the formula, but instead actually goes into great depth about the different benefits associated with each ingredient that exists within the formula.

The brand claims that the plant-based protein in the formula will support rebuilding, repairing, and supporting overall wellbeing.

In addition, the brand claims that the Chaga will support immune function, the Lion’s Mane will support focus and clarity, the Cordyceps will improve endurance, the Turkey’s Tail pushes toxins from the body, the Ashwagandha will reduce stress and fatigue, and the Eleuthero will support stamina.

Four Sigmatic Superfood Protein Ingredients

The Superfood Protein formula contains 12 ingredients, excluding flavoring ingredients, the majority of which are fully disclosed.

The only ingredients that aren’t fully disclosed are the different types of protein, which all exist within the protein blend.

However, we’ll be taking a closer look at the ingredients and the efficacy of the formula later in this review.

First, let’s take a look at the ingredients list!

Here is the complete list of the Four Sigmatic Superfood Protein ingredients:

  • Superfood Protein Blend (28g) – Organic Pea Protein, Organic Hemp Protein, Organic Chia Protein, Organic Pumpkin Protein, Organic Coconut Protein.
  • Ashwagandha Root Extract – 250mg
  • Organic Eleuthero Root Extract – 250mg
  • Organic Chaga Extract – 200mg
  • Organic Cordyceps Extract – 200mg
  • Organic Reishi Extract – 200mg
  • Organic Turkey Tail Extract – 200mg
  • Organic Lion’s Mane – 200mg
  • Other Ingredients – Organic Coconut Palm Sugar, Organic Lucuma, Pink Himalayan Salt, Organic Cinnamon, Organic Monk Fruit.

Here is the supplement facts label:

How does Four Sigmatic Superfood Protein Taste?

The Superfood Protein formula is available in Peanut Butter, Creamy Cacao, Sweet Vanilla, or Unflavored. The formulas are actually highly regarded for their great taste, with Goop and Women’s Health complimenting the taste!

Looking at customer reviews, some people really love the flavor of the formulas, whereas others, particularly those that purchased the unflavored formula, say that it tastes a little too much like mushrooms for their liking.

Side Effects

Although Four Sigmatic doesn’t state that there are any side effects associated with this formula, the formula does have a Prop 65 warning in the state of California, meaning some of the ingredients within the formula may cause exposure to certain chemicals, including lead, that may lead to health issues.

I would just add that if you are under 18, on medication, or you have a medical condition, you should consult a doctor before consuming this supplement.

Does Four Sigmatic Superfood Protein Work?

The Superfood Protein Powder contains a protein blend, which unfortunately doesn’t show the amount of each specific type of protein. However, the rest of the ingredients are fully disclosed.

Although typically I’m put-off by blends, due to the fact that the overall amount of protein is shown and since the specific types of protein don’t really need to be shown because they don’t have individual recommended doses, I’m not too concerned with the fact that the formula contains this blend.

However, of course, it would’ve been nice to see the amount of each type of protein disclosed.

The formula seems to contain a substantial amount of protein whilst also providing a variety of adaptogenic ingredients.

Nonetheless, this formula contains 28g of protein which is a substantial amount of protein!

The recommended amount of protein per day is 0.36g per pound of body weight.

Therefore, for the average man, this is 56g per day and for the average woman this works out at 46g per day.

Therefore, the amount of protein in this formula is half of a man’s daily recommended protein amount and nearly half for a woman. So, this is definitely a useful amount of protein!

The rest of the ingredients, apart from ashwagandha, don’t actually have standard recommended doses and therefore it’s impossible to know if they meet “recommended amounts”.

However, unfortunately, the amount of ashwagandha within this formula (250mg) doesn’t meet the recommended doses (500-600mg), therefore may not provide the same benefits as if a substantial dose of ashwagandha was in the formula.

The other issue with the ingredients I have is the use of coconut palm sugar, as it’s incredibly high in calories, which could be detrimental to the consumer’s health.

Overall, the formula seems to contain a substantial amount of protein whilst also providing a variety of adaptogenic ingredients.

It would’ve just been great to see the ashwagandha sufficiently dosed and there not to be any coconut palm sugar in the formula!

Four Sigmatic Superfood Protein Reviews

Four Sigmatic Superfood Protein is available on Amazon, and therefore we can take a look on there at unbiased customer reviews. Overall, the formula scores 4.6 stars out of 5 stars, with only one review that’s 2-star and no 1-star reviews!

So, let’s take a look at a selection of these reviews.

Just tried out the Four Sigmatic protein powder. I definitely liked the consistency, it is true that it’s advertised as creamy. I tried it with just pure water as specified and it wasn’t too bad. I just think I will need some adjustment. I got the unflavored powder and I think it would go well with almond milk or hemp milk (what I usually drink). Love the high plant protein 28mg and superfoods! 5-star reviewer

I love four sigmatic and have used their products for years. I am always open to trying new things from them and so got this. I have never tried plant-based protein so keep that in mind. The taste and blending is not great. However, looking at the other reviews plant-based protein may just be really gross and this is the best of the worst. I will stick to my collagen, unflavored protein. Although putting two scoops of raw cacao with it definitely betters the flavor profile. Overall review is “meh”. 3-star reviewer

While it has clean ingredients, it is so expensive for what you get. It basically tastes like unflavored pea protein. Better off buying pea and hemp protein and some mushroom powders and making a mix yourself! You'll save yourself a boatload of money and get the same results! 2-star reviewer

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Four Sigmatic offers a 120-day money-back guarantee that is more generous than most greens supplements.

Where to buy Four Sigmatic Superfood Protein?

You can buy the formula from the Four Sigmatic website, or on Amazon, Goop, and Thrivemarket.

Is It Worth The Price?

You can buy Four Sigmatic Superfood Protein formula either in packets and cans, with a ranging number of servings. You can also either sign up for a subscription or buy the product as a one-time purchase.

Obviously, if you sign up for a subscription, the price of the formula reduces.

To keep things simple, we’re going to take a look at the can of the formula that contains 15 servings.

On a one-time purchase, this can costs $50, meaning the cost per serving works out at $1.66.

On a subscription, this can costs $40, meaning the cost per serving works out at $1.33.

Seeing as the formula contains a substantial dose of protein alongside a selection of powerful adaptogens, I would say that the formula is most likely worth this price, in my opinion.

However, for this price, I would have really liked to see the ingredients that do have recommended doses actually reach those amounts. For example, the ashwagandha falls short.

Nonetheless, it’s still a fairly priced formula in my opinion.

My Final Verdict

I really like the Four Sigmatic brand and to a certain degree, I do really like this formula and support it.

I appreciate the mushrooms and protein mix, I like the fact that most of the ingredients are fully disclosed, the formula tastes good, it’s fairly cost-effective, and it has a 120-day money-back guarantee!

My only concerns with this formula are the fact that the ashwagandha in the formula is underdosed and the brand has added 2g of coconut palm sugar which is highly calorific into the formula.

Overall, I do like the formula, I’m just unsure whether I would personally go and purchase it. I think I'd be more inclined to choose a sugar-free, fully disclosed super greens formula and mix it with a high-quality protein.

The Protein Works Super Greens is a superfood formula, containing mainly greens ingredients, but also including grasses, fruit, adaptogenic herbs, and algae.

The formula is marketed as a detox shake that will also boost the immune system, by providing a wide range of essential micronutrients needed for the best state of overall health and wellbeing.

The formula is lactose-free, dairy-free, and therefore suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

I’m really keen to take a closer look at this greens formula produced by Protein Works, because as the name so obviously suggests, this brand primarily produces a protein, so it’s going to be interesting to see how this superfood supplement fares.

Are you also keen to take a closer look at this formula, or maybe you want to see an honest review of it before you buy it? Either way, check out my full The Protein Works Super Greens review below.

What is The Protein Works Super Greens?

The Protein Works website, on initial glance, looks impressive! The landing page is packed with vibrant visuals and a real assortment of products, promos, and information. It definitely makes a powerful first impression.

Looking at the product page for the Super Greens formula, I’m not as impressed as I was with the initial enthusiasm of the brand’s landing page.

The small font, the lack of information about the product’s benefits, and the fact that there aren’t any photos of the ingredients label on the product images aren’t blowing me away!

In fact, I get the feeling straight away that the brand maybe isn’t as transparent as it should be.

Background on The Protein Works

The Protein Works was founded by Mark Coxhead in 2012 and is currently based in the UK. The brand has grown exponentially since then, becoming the official nutrition supplier to Everton Football Club in the UK and distributing supplements to over 30 countries worldwide.

The brand won New Business of the Year at the 2014 National Business Awards in the UK.

As the name suggests, the brand mainly produces a protein, and it produces a protein in lots and lots of different forms, from baking products and snacks to capsules and shakes.

Although, the brand has clearly expanded its product selection, as it now sells super greens formula and herbal extract capsules.

The Protein Works Super Greens Benefits

The Protein Works doesn’t actually provide a lot of information about the benefits that the formula will provide the customer with overall. The brand states that the formula will provide a nutrient boost, packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, enzymes, and adaptogens that will boost the immune system.

However, the brand does go into detail about some of the more specific benefits of the formula, in relation to specific ingredients within the formula. Unfortunately, though, the problem is that the brand only provides information about four of the ingredients within the formula (it contains 13 main ingredients).

In detail, the brand talks about the benefits of spirulina, alfalfa, moringa, and kelp, stating that spirulina will support muscle repair, alfalfa will reduce inflammation, moringa will push toxins from the body, and kelp will provide iodine.

This is a disappointing selection of benefits, to be honest, and if the ingredients were sufficiently dosed, there would be a much wider range of benefits that the brand is missing completely.

The Protein Works Super Greens Ingredients

The Protein Works Super Greens formula contains 13 main ingredients, with the additional ingredients for the flavored types of formula. Unfortunately, the ingredients label isn’t fully disclosed.

In fact, there’s a real lack of information! This makes it incredibly difficult to figure out the efficacy of the formula, making the brand seem shady, rather than transparent.

However, more on whether the formula will work or not later. First, let’s look at the ingredients.

Here is the complete list of ingredients:

  • Super Greens Blend – Spirulina Powder, Kale Powder, Wheatgrass Powder, Spinach Powder, Broccoli Powder, Organic Alfalfa Powder, Chlorella (Broken Cell Wall), Beetroot Powder, Moringa Powder, Kelp Powder, Matcha Green Tea, Grape Seed Powdered Extract (95% Proanthocyanidins), Ashwagandha Root Powder.
  • Other Ingredients (in the Tropical Punch Flavor) – Flavoring, Sweetener (Sucralose).
  • Additional ingredients in the Pomegranate and Cranberry flavor – Acid (Citric Acid), Colors (Beetroot Red, Anthocyanin)

How does The Super Greens Taste?

When it comes to the taste of The Protein Works Super Greens, it’s not that positive! The formula is available in three different flavors – Tropical Punch, Pomegranate, and Cranberry and Unflavored, but none of the flavors are particularly well-loved.

Those that consume the flavored types of formula claim that it tastes sickly sweet but that the grassy greens taste still remains, and those that consume the unflavored formula think it’s too pungent.

…flavored types of formula claim that it tastes sickly sweet but that the grassy greens taste still remains, and those that consume the unflavored formula think it’s too pungent.

Personally, I think the unflavored formula would be palatable for those that are used to drinking super greens drinks, but I’m not pleased about the sucralose, an artificial sweetener, used as a sweetener in the flavored formulas.

Want to enjoy drinking your super greens drink? Check out my round-up of the best tasting super greens to try.

Side Effects

The Protein Works doesn’t give any side effect warnings in relation to the product, but it does recommend not consuming it if you’re breastfeeding.

I would like to add that if you’re suffering from a medical condition, taking medication, pregnant, or under the age of 18, you should consult a doctor before consuming this, and other superfood formulas.

Does The Protein Works Super Greens Work?

The main problem with this formula is the fact that there isn’t a fully disclosed ingredients label, as mentioned briefly already.

If you’re an avid Lifehacker Guy reader, you’ll know how much I dislike proprietary blends in supplements, but one thing that I dislike even more is when there’s no clear amount of information about blends, and we pretty much have both with this formula.

The unflavored formula has no information about the amounts of ingredients, but the flavored types do.

However, it’s not transparent information – the only information the brand provides about the numerical amount of ingredients within the flavored formula is that 80% of the formula is Super Greens Blend.

So, my question is, what makes up the other 20% of the formula?

It must be flavoring and sucralose – not ideal!

Anyway, nonetheless, we have this percentage of information to work with! Having a super green blend (containing 13 ingredients) that takes up 80% of the formula means that in a 9g serving, there would be 7.2g of the blend.

very unlikely that all of the ingredients within the formula are going to be substantially dosed in the flavored formulas

Some of the ingredients within this blend do have standard recommended doses, so looking at those might help us to figure out if the ingredients within the formula are sufficiently dosed.

The spirulina, wheatgrass, chlorella, and ashwagandha within the blend have a combined minimum recommended daily dose of 6.5g, meaning that if these were sufficiently dosed, there’s 1g left for the other 9 ingredients.

Therefore, it’s very unlikely that all of the ingredients within the formula are going to be substantially dosed in the flavored formulas. Perhaps in the unflavored formula, there may be a chance that all of the ingredients are sufficiently dosed.

The Protein Works Super Greens Reviews

The Protein Works Super Green formula is available on Amazon, so we can take a look there at some unbiased customer reviews. The product scores an overall star rating of 4 out of 5 stars, with 75 ratings in total. The taste of the formula is debated, and that’s what most of the negative reviews are regarding – most people aren’t keen!

Let’s take a look at a selection of these reviews below.

In water, it doesn't taste the greatest, the flavor masks any leafy green taste, but can be overpowering and powdery in texture. However, mixed with juice it's quite pleasant. I can see an improvement in my skins texture and appearance. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get more superfood minerals and nutrients into their diet. I take it in the morning. A great addition to my health and beauty routine.5-star reviewer

Not as bad in taste as some make out, but not as good as others make out. For a ‘healthy' treat try mixing a serving into your normal pancake mix.4-star reviewer

The first time I bought this, it was a few years back and it was the unflavoured kind. I hated it – the taste was unbearable. So when I saw they'd brought out some flavored versions I decided to try it again, this time opting for Tropical Punch. No. It's still disgusting. Only, this time it's disgusting, far too artificially sweet and the tropical flavor is reminiscent of cheap squash. You can still taste the garbage/swamp water flavor, the “tropical punch” does nothing to disguise it. So if you're thinking this might be an improvement on the unflavoured, it isn't. It's still as bad. Not even blending it up with a banana helped. I dumped the whole bag down the sink. Even the smell makes me nauseous.1-star reviewer

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

The Protein Works offers a 365-day guarantee, which they call a ‘Life Guarantee’. However, if you’ve only taken a few scoops of the formula, you’ll get a full refund, but if you’ve had more, the weight of the product you return depends on how much of a refund you will get.

Where to buy Super Greens?

You can buy The Protein Works Super Greens powder from The Protein Works website, on Amazon, and other third party online supplement retailers. If you’re in the UK, you can buy The Protein Works from Holland and Barrett stores.

Is It Worth The Price?

The Protein Works Super Greens are available in 250g, 500g, and 1kg pouches. For the sake of comparison with other formulas on the market that are typically sold in 30 serving tubs or pouches, I’ll be looking at the price of the 250g pouch, which contains 33 servings.

One 250g pouch costs £15.99 (approximately $21.15), which works out at a cost per serving of £0.48 (approximately $0.64).

This is an incredibly cheap cost per serving in comparison to other formulas on the market.

However, with no information about the amounts of any of the ingredients (not even a proprietary blend amount), it’s impossible to tell if the ingredients are sufficiently dosed, meaning that it’s probably worth this price – it’s not a high-quality formula so I wouldn’t expect it to have a high price point.

The Bottom Line

I was so interested in taking a look at this formula, not only because it’s popular, but because it’s produced by a brand that primarily creates protein products, so I was eager to see if they actually hit the mark with a superfood formula.

Honestly, I’m left feeling quite underwhelmed, and this is due to the fact that the formula doesn’t have a fully disclosed ingredients label, and (for the flavored formulas) 20% of the formula is made up of an artificial sweetener and flavorings.

To me, adding an artificial sweetener to the formula takes away the whole purpose of creating a natural formula.

Although this supplement is extremely cheap, I would recommend upping your budget slightly to make sure you’re purchasing a super greens formula that’s actually going to provide you with benefits, and not supply you with artificial sweetener!

Zupa Protein GREENZ is an alkalizing super greens and protein powder formula produced by popular New Zealand based supplement brand, Xtend Life. The formula is promoted as being a perfect supplement for those wanting to increase their nutrition, increase muscle tone, and achieve a healthy pH balance.

The formula contains 9g of pure New Zealand produced whey protein that provides the consumer with the entire range of essential amino acids needed for optimum health, as well as a selection of superfoods and powerful extracts that each provide specific health benefits.

Due to the fact that the formula contains whey protein, it isn’t vegan,. However, it is vegetarian-friendly, gluten-free, and nut-free.

I mentioned Zupa Protein GREENZ in my post about the best greens powders for protein, so think it’s only fitting that I do a full review on the formula on it, so let’s get to it!

Zupa Protein & Greenz

What is Zupa Protein GREENZ?

Taking a look at the Xtend Life website, the first impression that I get from the brand is that it’s very serious about its products, and that’s good news!

Rather than seeing vibrant colors and illustrations on the packaging, Xtend Life uses simple, sleek branding that looks much more scientific than other brands on the market – although I typically like a bit of color and eyecatching visuals, I really like the approach that Xtend Life has.

I also really appreciate that the website has a health hub that contains a blog and a variety of Youtube videos produced by Warren Matthews, the co-founder of Xtend Life.

Looking at the Zupa Protein GREENZ formula, in particular, there’s more color and design when it comes to the packaging, but it’s still refined and looks classic. The product page is impressive, containing a vast amount of informative copy about the formula and the benefits that the formula provides.

I have to say that so far, I’m impressed by the formula and the brand as a whole, so I’m looking forward to taking a closer look at what’s actually inside the formula.

Background on Xtend Life

Xtend-Life Natural Products was founded in 2000 by Warren Matthews and his son, Lance Matthews. The brand has become one of the most popular supplement suppliers in New Zealand, focusing on producing supplements made from pure, high-quality ingredients.

Wherever possible the brand uses ingredients from New Zealand, and every product the brand produces is made in New Zealand, with a concentration on locally sourced ingredients and small production.

The Zupa Protein GREENZ formula is amongst some of the best-sellers produced by the brand. However, Xtend life creates a wide range of products, featuring everything from essential vitamins and mineral capsules and superfood powders to cleansers and facial serums – there certainly is something for everyone!

Zupa Protein GREENZ Benefits

Xtend Life is very confident that the Zupa Protein GREENZ formula will provide the consumer with a wide range of benefits. On the formula’s product page, each benefit has an extensive explanation below it. Personally, I think that it’s great to be informative and educate consumers, so I’m all for it!

Get ready for a long list of health benefits.

The brand claims that the formula will balance pH levels, increasing alkalinity, support the metabolism and aid with weight management, boost energy levels, support healthy bones, support the healthy microflora of the gut, pushes toxins from the body, protect the cells from radical damage, and support healthy hair, skin, and nails.

Zupa Protein GREENZ Ingredients

Zupa Protein GREENZ contains 14 ingredients excluding 4 flavoring ingredients.

There is information about the amounts of seven of these ingredients, but the other seven ingredients exist within a superfood proprietary blend, which is a huge shame! However, I’ll be looking more into why this is such a problem a little bit further down in this review.

Here is the complete list of Zupa Protein GREENZ ingredients:

  • Calcium (from Red Algae (Lithothamnium species) and Calcium Ascorbate) – 85mg
  • Iron (from Red Algae (Lithothamnium species) – 0.5mg
  • Whey Protein Concentrate – 9.8g
  • Spirulina – 2.1g
  • Chlorella – 317mg
  • Apple Fiber Powder – 219mg
  • Green Tea Leaf Extract – 36mg
  • Proprietary New Zealand Superfood Blend (1.7g) – Grape Juice Powder, Kiwifruit Powder, Barley Grass, Wheat Grass, Grape Seed Extract, Grape Skin Extract, Kiwifruit Extract
  • Other Ingredients – Banana Flavor, Stevia Glycosides, Citric Acid (Preservative), Malic Acid.

Here is the supplement facts label:

Zupa Protein Greenz Label

How does Zupa Protein GREENZ Taste?

Zupa Protein GREENZ is banana-flavored, and it also contains stevia to sweeten the taste.

Although the formula does taste nice if you’re a fan of banana, you can still taste the greens in the mix, so it may be difficult for some people to enjoy if they’re not used to consuming super greens (check out my list of best tasting greens powders).

Side Effects

Xtend Life doesn’t give any warnings on the Zupa Protein GREENZ formula. In fact, the brand states that the formula is safe for all ages, and suitable for young children and the elderly.

Although there shouldn’t be any side effects from this formula, I would recommend that if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18, or have a medical condition, you should speak to your doctor before consumption.

Does Zupa Protein GREENZ Work?

What I find very strange about the Zupa Protein Greens ingredients list is the fact that some of the ingredients have their amounts attached, and others exist within a proprietary blend.

To me, it doesn’t make sense for a brand to go to the effort to show the amounts of certain ingredients and then add a proprietary blend to the mix!

Proprietary blends make it impossible for the consumer to know much of each ingredient exists within a formula, making it harder to figure out if the formula will actually work or not.

The proprietary blend contains 7 ingredients and only weighs in at 1.7g, so it’s unlikely that each ingredient will be sufficiently dosed.

Nonetheless, Xtend Life has added a proprietary blend to this formula, so we need to try and figure out if the formula will actually work using the facts that we do know.

The first thing we know is that there’s 9g of protein within the formula. The recommended amount of protein per day is 0.8g per 1kg of body weight, meaning that the average man that has a sedentary lifestyle should be consuming 56g of protein per day.

Unlike other formulas that contain higher amounts of protein (20-25g), this isn’t as nutritious in this sense. However, the 9g of protein within this formula will still help with reaching the daily recommended dose and provide health benefits.

The formula contains a sufficient amount of spirulina (2.1g) and the recommended daily dose sits between 1-3g, but the amount of chlorella falls short (317mg) and the daily recommended dose sits between 2-5 grams.

The proprietary blend contains 7 ingredients and only weighs in at 1.7g, so it’s unlikely that each ingredient will be sufficiently dosed.

Essentially, it’s simply unclear whether all of the ingredients within the Zupa Protein GREENZ formula will actually be sufficiently dosed and provide health benefits to the consumer.

Zupa Protein GREENZ Reviews

Unfortunately, the Zupa Protein GREENZ doesn’t have very many reviews at all.

In fact, there’s only 1 review on Amazon and 2 reviews on the Xtend Life website. For a brand and a product that’s supposed to be incredibly popular, it does concern me that there aren’t many reviews of the product.

However, all of the three reviews that do exist are 5-star reviews!

Let’s take a look at the one from Amazon.

Very nice product, good ingredients (I dont buy rubbish, or at least dont give feedback on rubbish) worth buying Price maybe issue for some5-star review

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Xtend Life offers a fantastic 365-day money-back guarantee on all of its products.

This is one of the few companies that offer such a great money-back guarantee. Only Yuri Energy Greens and my own brand, SuperGreen TONIK I have seen offer a one-year guarantee!

Where to buy Zupa Protein GREENZ?

You can buy Zupa Protein GREENZ from the Xtend Life website or from Amazon.

Is It Worth The Price?

One tub of Zupa Protein GREENZ costs $29.75 and contains 15 servings, which works out at a cost per serving of $1.98.

Unlike other brands that offer subscription options and discounted bulk buys, Xtend Life doesn’t offer this. However, if you do spend over $60 you qualify for free shipping!

I have to say that I do find this formula a little bit on the pricey side due to the fact that it contains a proprietary blend.

However, I do understand that the ingredients are all locally sourced where possible so that will put the price up.

The Bottom Line

I think the Xtend Life brand is great. I really appreciate the fact the brand uses local ingredients wherever possible and makes everything in New Zealand.

I also do think that this is a good formula, the only problem for me is the fact that the ingredients label isn’t fully disclosed, and I find it a little strange that the formula has only 3 customer reviews.

I think if you’re looking more for a protein supplement but you’d be interested in getting some superfood benefits too, this is a good formula to try.

If you’re a bit like me and you want to make sure that you know exactly what you’re consuming, it’s probably best that you look at another product.

Orgain is an American supplement brand that specializes in producing products that are clean and organic, with one of the brand’s most popular products being the Organic Protein & Greens Plant-Based Protein Powder. As this formula’s title is a little wordy, for the sake of readability, I’m just going to call it Orgain Protein & Greens!

The Orgain Protein & Greens formula contains 21g of protein, from clean, vegan ingredients, as well as a mixture of potent super greens. Orgain markets this formula as being perfect for those with busy lifestyles that need protein and greens on the go.

The brand claims that the Protein & Greens formula will help muscle recovery, boost energy levels, aid with weight management, support the digestive system and provide the consumer with vitamin A, C, K, iron, and phosphorus.

As a lot more people are starting to look towards the world of organic foods and supplements, I’m keen to take a closer look at this formula and see not only why it’s so popular, but check if it’s actually delivering what it says it will.

If you’re interested in potentially purchasing this formula or you’re an avid super greens fan like me, check out my full review of Orgain Protein & Greens below.

Orgain Protein & Greens First Impressions

The first impression I have when looking at the Orgain website is that everything looks well designed and professional! From the sleek branding and eye-catching visuals to the abundance of resources across the site – a blog and a recipe page!

The Orgain Protein & Greens formula also makes a great first impression. The vibrant branding on the formula and the variety of certifications and ‘free-froms’ is impressive, but one thing, in particular, makes me feel good about this product.

The brand has made a point of reducing the amount of plastic within the packaging by 40% which is a great step towards change for the environment and it’s nice to see such a popular brand prioritizing being eco-friendly.

The only thing I’d like to see more of on the Protein & Greens product page is a description of the health benefits that consumers will receive by taking this formula. Although the brand might have a lot of popularity, there’s still no harm in explaining the formula’s benefits and showing people why they should purchase this formula.

Background on Orgain

Orgain was founded in 2009 by Andrew Abraham, a cancer survivor, physician, and huge advocate of clean, green nutrition!

Abraham was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer as a teenager, and both throughout and after treatment, he needed to supplement his nutritional intake to increase strength to fight cancer as well as boost his energy levels.

Consuming his mother’s clean green shakes daily, Abraham got stronger and healthier, assisting with his speedy recovery. Once fully kicking his cancer to the curb, Abraham decided to bring clean superfood nutrition to the world, realizing just how powerful specific ingredients are for health and wellbeing.

That’s the story of how Orgain came to exist – the brand is now one of the most popular on the greens scene.

Orgain Protein & Greens Benefits

Orgain is very quiet about the benefits that people can derive from consuming the Protein & Greens formula, and I’m not sure if that’s because they assume everyone knows the health benefits, or if they’ve just not decided to add this information.

The Protein & Greens formula will increase energy levels, speed up muscle recovery, aid with weight management, support digestion, and provide essential vitamins and minerals such as vitamin A, C, K, iron, and phosphorus.

Orgain Protein & Greens Ingredients

Orgain Protein & Greens contains 18 ingredients, most of which are USDA organic, making the formula as a whole organic!

Unfortunately, although the ingredients might be of high quality, they exist within proprietary blends, meaning that no one but the brand actually knows how much of each ingredient exists within the formula – this is a huge problem, and I will be looking at why a little later on in this review.

Here is the complete list of Orgain Protein & Greens ingredients:

  • Orgain Organic Protein Blend: Organic Pea Protein, Organic Brown Rice Protein, Organic Chia Seed, Organic Natural Flavors
  • Orgain Organic Creamer Base: Organic Acacia, Organic High Oleic Sunflower Oil, Organic Rice Dextrin, Organic Sunflower Lecithin, Organic Rosemary Extract, Organic Erythritol
  • Orgain Organic Greens Blend: Organic Spinach, Organic Broccoli, Organic Kale, Natural Flavor, Sea Salt, Organic Acacia, Organic Guar Gum, Organic Stevia, Xanthan Gum

The formula is also USDA certified organic, certified vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, lactose-free, soy-free, and kosher.

How does Orgain Protein & Greens Taste?

Orgain Protein & Greens is available in either Creamy Chocolate Fudge flavor or Vanilla Bean flavor. There’s a mixture of responses when it comes to the taste of the formula.

Some customers aren’t so keen on the taste of it, with people saying it tastes stale and has strong hints of the greens within it. However, other customers enjoy the taste and think it’s sweet.

However, nearly all customers agree that the formula doesn’t mix well and has a gritty texture.

Side Effects

Orgain doesn’t provide any warnings with the Protein & Greens formula and doesn’t advise about who should and shouldn’t be consuming the formula.

Although you shouldn’t experience any side effects when consuming this formula, if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18, or have a medical condition, you should consult your doctor before consumption.

Does Orgain Protein & Greens Work?

The Orgain Protein & Greens ingredients label isn’t fully disclosed and all of the ingredients exist within proprietary blends. However, it gets worse, because even the amounts of each proprietary blend aren’t included on the ingredients label!

As the ingredients label isn’t fully disclosed, it’s impossible to say if the formula will actually provide health benefits for the consumer as the brand claims it will.

The only thing that we know is that the protein content in the formula is 21g, allowing 28g (as the serving size is 49g) for other ingredients. This is actually quite a substantial amount for the remaining ingredients, so it is possible that some of the ingredients may be sufficiently dosed!

..actually quite a substantial amount for the remaining ingredients, so it is possible that some of the ingredients may be sufficiently dosed!

However, as the brand hasn’t confirmed the amounts of each ingredient, we shouldn’t jump to any conclusions, because we are completely in the dark after all!

It seems such a shame that a fantastic brand like Orgain hasn’t added a fully disclosed ingredients label.

Orgain Protein & Greens Reviews

It’s obvious just how popular this formula and the Orgain brand is as a whole when you take a look at the number of reviews on Amazon. There are over 2,000 reviews of the Protein & Greens formula, with the product scoring 4.6 stars out of 5 stars overall.

Let’s take a look at a selection of these reviews from Amazon:

Love this product! It’s perfect as my morning post-exercise workout shake and an on the go meal. It keeps me full for at least two hours. I add a frozen banana, chia seeds, oats, and water and blitz in my Nutribullet Pro and viola, a creamy, delicious shake! It mixes well and is not grainy. And, I don’t need to add any type of milk, water is just fine. I’ll sometimes add almonds for the extra fiber and protein. It’s my new favorite vegan protein powder. I also love the vanilla because I can add other fruit to it.5-star review

I love their pre-packaged drinks and buy them by the cases. I decided to give the Powder a try because it would last longer. Good taste regarding flavor but despite the power of my ninja and shaker, it doesn’t mix well. Gritty to drink no matter how much I mixed it. Disappointed as I said I LOVE their 12 pack single shakes in this flavor. Stick with those and ditch the powder.3-star review

I was hoping to find a protein that had the protein we wanted as well as tasted good. I hate to give bad reviews but oh, this product literally tastes like throw up in your mouth. Like I said I hate giving bad reviews but this is not something I would ever order again and I did return yet.1-star review

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Orgain doesn’t offer a money-back guarantee but does state that a refund may be possible if you return the product you purchased within 30 days. The detailed policy for refunds for Orgain can be found on their Terms of Use page.

Where to buy Orgain Protein & Greens?

You can buy Orgain Protein & Greens on the Orgain website, on Amazon, on Walmart, and at independent third-party retailer stores.

Is It Worth The Price?

One tub of Orgain Protein & Greens contains around 18 servings, and costs $29.99, working out at a cost per serving of around $1.67.

You can save 20% by subscribing to receiving the formula regularly, meaning one tub costs $23.99 and has a cost per serving of around $1.33.

The price of this formula is fairly cheap in comparison to other super greens and protein formulas on the market. However, without a fully disclosed label, I would expect it to be relatively cheap.

The Bottom Line

I really appreciate the story behind Orgain, and I think the brand as a whole provides some great products and has a great ethos. Obviously, the brand is doing something right because it’s so popular!

However, knowing exactly what I’m putting into my body and being sure I’m taking something that is actually going to benefit me is incredibly important. So, the fact that this formula doesn’t have a fully disclosed ingredients label concerns me and I wouldn’t purchase this formula.

I would rather mix a protein powder with a super greens powder with a fully disclosed label than purchase something that may not contain a sufficient amount of each ingredient.
