Jocko Greens Ingredients

It’s great to see that Jocko adheres to full transparency and has a label showing the dosages of every ingredient in the formula.

The formula contains a nutritious blend of 23 superfoods and adaptogens, many of which you will find in other powdered greens.

Whilst the formula looks to be okay at first glance, I did notice a few issues with it – I go into these in the “does it work” section below.

Here is the complete list of Jocko Greens ingredients:

  • Organic Vegetable Blend (5400mg) – Organic spirulina (1170mg), Organic wheatgrass (900mg), Organic kale (900mg), Organic spinach (900mg), Organic beets (360mg), Organic sweet potato (270mg), Organic broccoli sprout (180mg), Organic chlorella (180mg), Organic oat grass (180mg), Organic cabbage (180mg), Organic carrots (180mg)
  • Organic Fruit Blend (3600mg) – Organic banana powder (1080mg), Organic pineapple (1080mg), Organic apple powder (450mg), Organic grape (360mg), Organic goji (180mg), Organic pomegranate (180mg), Organic açaí powder (90mg), Organic wild blueberry (90mg), Organic cranberry fruit extract (90mg)
  • Rhodiola extract (50mg)
  • Ashwagandha extract (50mg)
  • Milk thistle extract (50mg)
  • S11 probiotics blend (9 billion CFU)

Pro Tip: It really pays to be able to read supplement labels so that you know what you're consuming.

How does Jocko Greens Taste?

You take Jocko Greens by mixing 1 scoop (10.2 g) with 8 oz. water and drinking immediately. I find that greens drinks taste much better when using cool water, even dropping in a few ice cubes makes a difference.

I find that greens powders either use stevia leaf extract or monk fruit to balance out the bitterness of the ingredients. In some cases, both natural sweeteners are used.

Jocke Greens uses monk fruit and is flavored with “pineapple coconut”.

There is a little aftertaste of coconut but unless you really dislike these fruits then you should find it palatable.

I am a fan of both pineapple and coconut and so I don't mind the taste at all.

Coconut water

Side Effects

There are very few side effects from powdered greens although there is a possibility of experiencing mild bloating, especially if you're not used to consuming greens.

If you're taking any prescription medication and/or have a medical condition, the recommended advice is always to seek medical advice before taking any supplements.

Does Jocko Greens Work?

On first glance the ingredient formula looks great. At least we get to see exactly what's inside with each ingredient showing their weights.

It's important to know this so that you can know if a supplement is adequately dosed.

I can see that many of them are unfortunately under-dosed which means the effectiveness of this supplement may not be quite as claimed

Going through the list of ingredients, I can see that many of them are unfortunately under-dosed which means the effectiveness of this supplement may not be quite as claimed by the manufacturer.

Vegetable Blend

The main ingredient in the formula, Spirulina is in 1180mg that is within the recommended serving per day according to Healthline. Spirulina is a nutritious algae with powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which is why it's a popular ingredient in greens powders.

The serving size of Chlorella is VERY disappointing, though. At just 180mg, there is very little of this superfood!

Adaptogens

I am a massive fan of Ashwagandha and Rhodiola and take them daily with my supplement. These adaptogens have amazing anti-stress-reducing properties along with improving mental focus and cognitive abilities.

Jocko Greens contains only 50mg of Ashwagandha and 50mg of Rhodiola – way too little!

The adaptogens in Jocko Greens is massively underdosed, though.

According to scientific research (even those quoted by Jocko Fuel) you need dosages of AT LEAST 200mg per day to experience the health benefits.

Jocko Greens contains only 50mg of Ashwagandha and 50mg of Rhodiola – way too little!

Ashwagandha Rhodiola together

Probiotics

Whilst taking probiotics is mostly considered beneficial to health, not all health professionals agree.

Many greens powders contain probiotics even though these nutrients are very unstable and including them in multi-ingredient formulas may affect their effectiveness.

I prefer to look at separate probiotic supplements so that I can taken them at the recommended time.

Jocko Greens Reviews

Apart from my feedback, I like to get customer reviews who have tried the product. Ideally, these are from third-party sites like Amazon.

The Amazon reviews are good for Jocko Greens with an average rating of 4.7 out of 5. There are clearly Jocko fans shopping on Amazon that like the product!

Here are a few reviews to highlight the pros and cons of Jocko Greens.

This is an amazing product with a great flavor. It has spirulina minus the smell. I can tell the difference after a week, zero bloating, more energy, excellent cleansing, zero inflammation, and most important I don't feel tired.5-stars

The flavor is okay, kinda chalky, but not bad. I’ve almost finished one container and it’s as though I no longer feel the boost anymore.4 stars

I’m a huge fan of Jocko so decided to give his greens a try. I’ve used Mtn Ops and InnoGreens prior to using his. I do believe his ingredients are very high quality which I appreciate. But unfortunately, none of that matters if you can’t get past the taste. InnoGreens are far better in flavor.2 stars

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

The official website says you can “exchange new, unused and unwashed items” by completing the online form.

I couldn't find any information that outlines their policy though and so unsure how long the “money-back guarantee” is and how much money is refunded.

Where to buy Jocko Greens?

You can buy Jocko Greens from the official Origin Labs store or from their Amazon shop.

Is It Worth The Price?

Yes and no.

Each one-off tub of Jocko Greens cost $49.99 with a monthly subscription having a 10% discount making your monthly tub a reasonable $44.95.

This is very affordable as far as the average price of greens powders that I have seen after looking at over 77 greens supplements to date.

Not all ingredients are sufficiently dosed though, and so you should take this into account when looking at value for month.

The Bottom Line

Jocko Greens has a decent ingredient formula from a respected brand.

If you're on a budget, this is a cost-effective way to get some superfoods and adaptogens.

Importantly though, is that some of the crucial ingredients are under-dosed (especially the adaptogens) and so won't be as powerful as other more potent greens on the market.

Jocko Greens is a good choice if on a budget and are okay with having some ingredients under-dosed. If you're looking for a more potent greens formula, this will be top of my list.

Cymbiotika Super Greens is a supplement containing alkalizing greens and chlorophyll in a handy to consume pouch you can squeeze directly into your mouth or drink.

I have not seen this style pouch used for super greens before but these years ago used something similar filled with a glucose mix to be used during cycling.

I am keen to see how effective these are and whether the formula stacks up. If you're keen to buy then read on for my Cymbiotika Super Greens review.

Cymbiotika Super Greens

What is Cymbiotika Super Greens?

This supplement offers an easy way to consume some greens in a handy pouch you can drink directly or drop into your favorite drink.

The formula contains a mix of chlorophyll, glucoraphanin, broccoli seed, and other alkalizing greens you often find in other greens supplements.

It's the first time I have seen chlorophyll in a greens product, and I will look more into the formula later.

Cymbiotika Super Greens Ingredients

I was very underwhelmed when I looked at the Cymbiotika Greens ingredients, most importantly the serving size, an incredibly tiny 458mg in size!

Apart from Chlorophyll, all the ingredients are within a proprietary blend, so we don't get to know the individual dosages of each ingredient.

…the ingredients are within a proprietary blend and so we don't get to know the individual dosages of each ingredient

I look at the ingredients that make up the formula below to see if they match the claims made by Cymbiotika.

Here is the complete list of Cymbiotika Super Greens ingredients:

  • Chlorophyll (50mg) – Sodium Copper Chlorophyllin from Mulberry Leaf
  • Proprietary Super Greens Complex (458mg) – Organifi Alfafa powder, Organic Oat Grass Powder, Organic Spinach powder, Organic Spirulina, Organic Kale, Brocolli seed powder extract, 13% Glucoraphannin powder
  • Other Ingredients: – Purified Water, Organic Glycerin, Organic Cassava Syrup, Citris Pectin, Lime Extract, Malic Acid, Organic Lemon Oil, Organic Citrus Extract, Organic Citrus Bioflavonoids

Here is the supplement facts label:

Cymbiotika Super Greens label

The label is easy to read and clearly shows each serving is 35 calories made up of 8 grams of carbohydrates with zero fat or sugar.

The other ingredients will make up the liquid and the flavoring of the contents.

How does Cymbiotika Super Greens Taste?

Cymbiotika greens are easy to consume you squeeze the contents of the pouch into your mouth or stir them into your favorite beverage.

If mixing in your favorite drink then you may not notice the taste.

Consuming directly you can taste the citrus lime flavor and is not unpleasant.

This is great because I have found lime and lemon flavors to be unpleasant when previously tasting greens powders.

Cymbiotika’s greens pouch

Side Effects

There will be unlikely any side effects from consuming the Cymbiotika Super greens pouch. This is because there are no stimulants in the formula, and also, the dosages will likely be very small.

If you are pregnant, nursing a baby, or have a chronic medical condition such as diabetes, hypertension, or heart disease, consult your doctor or pharmacist before purchasing or taking any supplement.

Does Cymbiotika Super Greens Work?

I have big doubts about the effectiveness of this greens formula.

This is one of the SMALLEST formulas I have seen in a greens supplement, even when compared to greens gummies like 8 Greens Gummies and Goli Super Greens.

A big plus is the zero sugar though because often gummies are sugar-heavy with 2 grams per gummy (how is that healthy?).

…my top-rated greens products have a 12-grams serving which is 24-times that of Cymbiotika greens!

To put the serving size into perspective my top-rated greens products have a 12-grams serving which is 24-times that of Cymbiotika greens!

But, what about the ingredients in the formula?

The first ingredient is Chlorophyll which is taken from the Mulberry Leaf. This nutrient is present in green vegetables and other plant-based foods like algae (Source).

chlorophyll liquid

There has been an upsurge in the use of Chlorophyll supplementation recently due to promotions seen on TikTok. The health benefits include boosting energy, controlling body odor, wound healing, skincare, and providing a good source of antioxidants.

Although there is no regulated dosage for daily Chlorophyll consumption is between 100 and 300 milligrams (mg) per day over three divided doses (Orgon State University).

Cymbiotika falls short of this dosage!

You can also consume Chlorophyll in green algaes like chlorella and spirulina

The usual greens ingredients are in the “Proprietary Super Greens Complex” of Alfalfa powder, spinach powder, spirulina, kale, and broccoli.

Some promising research shows that these ingredients can have beneficial health results when consumed in sufficient amounts.

The problem is that most greens supplements underdose key ingredients in their formula.

For example, according to Heathline consuming 1-3 grams of Spirulina daily can promote health benefits.

To get the recommended scientific dosage of spirulina, you would need to look at other greens supplements or buy a spirulina supplement.

Best Spirulina Powders & supplements

So, will Cymbiotika greens work?

It will have some benefits if your diet is particularly low in nutrients, but because the dosage of each ingredient is low it won't significantly change your health.

In addition, the claim “alkalizing greens” is a little misleading as greens products DO NOT ALKALIZE this is a job that your body already does an amazing job with regulating blood pH.

Cymbiotika Super Greens Reviews

I could only find Cymbiotika reviews on the official website, not third-party ones. This could be in part because it is a new product.

I do like to get a balanced view of every product I review and so in this case can only show the positive ones posted on their website.

Outstanding product! I take mid-afternoon just by squeezing in my mouth. I love the taste and it gives me a afternoon boost! Thank you CYMBIOTIKA!5 stars

The liposomal sulforphane matrix gives me that boost of energy I need. My body feels amazing with these live supplements in my body!5 stars

As you would imagine reviews on the official website are very positive 🙂

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

There is a 30-day returns policy for every order NOT OPENED or DAMAGED, just be sure to return your order within 30-days of requesting a refund in order for this to be still valid.

Be aware, that if you open your supplement then you will be unable to return it!

Where to buy Cymbiotika Super Greens?

You can buy Cymbiotkia from the official website and although they have an Amazon store I couldn't find their Super Greens on there.

Is It Worth The Price?

A one-time purchase is going to cost you $78 per month with their subscribe and save option giving you a 10% discount ($70.20 per month).

This is a daily cost of between $2.30 – $2.60.

This is one of the most expensive super greens I have reviewed, with not only the average cost of the super greens being high, but you get very little for your serving cost.

I honestly believe this is a case of paying a lot for convenience over substance.

The Bottom Line: Serving too small to impact your health seriously

This product is a great idea, making it super easy to consume greens on the go. The issue is the ingredients and their dosages – they are too small to impact your health seriously.

Consider that each 30-day supply will cost you between $70-78 per month too!

A nice idea, but there are way too many other greens supplements on the market that give you a much better veggie punch for your buck!

Prestige Labs Power Greens claim to boost immunity whilst increasing your energy and enhancing your performance.

Prestige Labs Power Greens tub

What is Prestige Labs Power Greens?

When I first heard the name “Power Greens” it sounded like family. Then I realized why it’s similar to another brand called Patriot Power Greens – a supplement aimed at the more senior market.

There is little information on this version of Power Greens on the website. There is only a picture of the tub, a label, and a few glasses of healthy-looking green smoothies.

The main message of this supplement is the ability to “Power up your immune system with our Power Greens”.

The company claims by drinking this daily, you can enjoy the following benefits:

  • Supports normal detox processes
  • Boosts your metabolism
  • Supports healthy cholesterol levels
  • Provides healthy blood pressure support
  • Boosts your immune system

Background on Prestige Labs

Prestige Labs is founded by an entrepreneur and marketer whom I admire, Alex Hormozi.

He is incredibly passionate about fitness and can be seen working out, showing his well-developed calves on Instagram. It’s a good job he works out so much considering his craving for deserts!

Prestige Labs was started in August 2018 and very soon grew to offer several brands that support weight loss, muscle growth, immunity, and overall health.

Power Greens is a relatively new addition to the range.

Other greens powders I have reviewed you may be interested in:

Prestige Labs Power Greens Ingredients

Each scoop is one 8.4 gram serving that has 11 ingredients all apart from Organic Acacia Fiber which is contained with one “organic greens blend”.

The greens blend lists all the ingredients in a proprietary blend in the order of their total amount in the blend. This does mean we don't get to know the individual weights of each ingredient in the formula.

Like many greens supplements, there are no adaptogens in this formula, which is unfortunate because you could be missing out on the benefits these herbs has to offer.

Here is the complete list of Powder Greens ingredients:

  • Organic Greens Blend (5,000mg) – Organic Barley Grass Powder, Organic Wheat Grass Powder, Organic Spirulina Powder, Organic Spinach Leaf Powder, Organic Broccoli Powder, Alfafa Leaf Powder, Organic Beet Root Powder, Organic Moringa Leaf Powder, Organic Tomato Powder, Organic Dulse Powder
  • Organic Acacia Fiber (2,000mg)

The inclusion of Barley and Wheatgrass in this greens will mean that this formula is not gluten friendly.

Although most of the ingredients in the formula appear to be “organic” the supplement itself is not labeled as USDA organic.

How does Prestige Labs Power Greens Taste?

The feedback from customers who have left reviews on the official website seems impressed with the taste.

There is no information on the label that they use natural sweeteners common in most greens powders or any natural flavors.

Side Effects

It is possible to get side effects from drinking greens powders but for the majority of people, it will be unlikely.

Some of the ingredients may cause bloating, but this is temporary. Once you get used to them you won't feel uncomfortable after drinking green juice.

The ingredients in Power Greens are unlikely in high amounts and so should be fine.

As with any supplement, if you have any pre-existing medical condition or are taking prescription medication, then you should first seek medical advice before taking this brand.

Does Prestige Labs Power Greens Work?

For me, the formula is a little dull.

There are no adaptogens like most greens formulas have. The formula instead is mostly based on grasses, spinach, spirulina, and a few other healthy vegetables.

There are proven benefits to consuming several ingredients in Power Greens, but only when provided in the right dosages.

The use of the proprietary blend means we only know the weight of the prebiotic fiber (Acacia), and then studies highlight amounts much higher than the 2 grams available here (Source).

Barley Grass powder

The most noteworthy ingredients in this formula are Spirulina, Moringa, and Beetroot powder.

The benefits of Power Greens are supported by these ingredients when consumed in the right dosages.

It is questionable though that these are present in each serving.

For example, Spirulina in recommended dosages of between 1-3 grams is packed full of antioxidants and may help reduce blood pressure and improve athletic performance (source).

Likewise, the nitrates within beetroot have been shown to increase exercise capacity and lower blood pressure. Although no official recommended dosage for beetroot powder is around 1 gram per serving.

Prestige Labs Power Greens Reviews

There are a bunch of positive reviews on the Prestige Labs page, I have outlined a few below.

I was unable to find any third-party customer reviews because the Power Greens brand is not on Amazon. (Burn PM was available shortly but seems to be unavailable now).

Great way to get in that lil extra dose of veggies. Love this for me and my husband – 5 stars5 stars

Really like having an easy way to get high quality veggies into my daily diet!5 stars

I hate vegetables so when i saw this i couldn't be happier. Goes great in a blueberry banana smoothie5 stars

Interestingly, most of the reviews are about the convenience of getting your greens in powdered form in a glass each day.

This can be achieved with all greens supplements, so it pays to shop around at available options.

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

I couldn't locate any money-back guarantee or returns policy on the website. I could only see in the FAQs that if your order arrives incomplete or missing, you must contact Prestige Labs within 30-days.

If you reach out after this time, you seem out of luck!

Where to buy Prestige Labs Power Greens?

You can buy Power Greens from the official Prestige Labs website.

Is It Worth The Price?

In short, unfortunately not.

One tub costs an incredible

The serving size is not small but is 25% smaller than the most popular brands on the market (AG1, Supergreen Tonik, etc.) but similar to others like Bulletproof Greens and Organic Green Juice.

One tub costs an incredible $95 ($85 for a monthly subscription) which makes each serving cost between $2.80 and $3.20. This is on the high-end for the average cost of a greens powder and only AG1 compares to this price.

There are options to save on the tub cost by purchasing in bulk (3 to 12 tubs) with savings of up to 25%.

This means that Power Greens has a smaller serving and is one of the most expensive greens on the market.

The serving size is not small but is 25% smaller than the most popular brands on the market (AG1, My Brand – Supergreen Tonik, etc.) but similar to others like Bulletproof Greens and Organic Green Juice.

This means that Power Greens has a smaller serving and is one of the most expensive greens on the market.

The Bottom Line

Prestige Labs looks to be a solid supplement company with a good reputation but their Power Greens is in my opinion a let-down.

It’s expensive and the ingredients are nothing to shout about. Especially considering they are within a relatively small proprietary blend!

The sub-par “small-ish” formula means that Power Greens is not on my list of recommended greens supplements. There are better formulas at much better value for money elsewhere.

Steel Greens is powdered superfood greens and reds supplement that has a nutrient-dense to help fuel your active lifestyle.

In contrast to many popular brands like AG1, Steel Greens and Reds choose to include fewer ingredients in their formula and highlight the individual weights of each ingredient.

This is fantastic and exactly what I look for in a greens (or reds), or in fact, any supplement I wish to take.

If you're considering trying this supplement then read my Steel Greens review to see if this is the answer to filling any gaps in your diet.

Steel Greens tub

What is Steel Greens?

Steel Fit launched Steel Greens in 2020 to complement their existing supplement and fitness products.

The formula contains a mix of well-known greens and reds ingredients combined with probiotics and digestive enzymes.

Although missing some of the popular adaptogens seen in other popular greens brands, it does include some familiar ingredients such as Spinach, Kale, and Chlorella.

This brand is one of the few products that list all the ingredient amounts on their label – a very welcome surprise!

I counted over 40 different brands on their website.

Steel Greens Ingredients

The Steel Greens formula is split into four separate blends; Organic Greens Blend (10 ingredients), Organic Reds Blend (6 ingredients), Digestive Health and Absorption Blend (1 ingredient), and Probiotic Support blend (1 ingredient).

In total there are 18 ingredients in this supplement that fit inside a 9.5-gram serving.

Most superfood supplements stick with either a predominantly greens or reds formula but Steel Greens includes both. I reviewed a brand that did the same a few months ago, 1UPNutrition Greens and Reds, although unlike this brand they didn't reveal their ingredient dosages.

Talking of which, I am very happy to see that Steel Greens reveal the exact ingredient amounts in their formula, see below.

Tip: If you struggle to decipher the nutritional facts on supplements then it's worth heading over to my read supplement labels like a pro article.

How does Steel Greens Taste?

Steel Greens and Reds come in three flavors; Mixed Berry, Pineapple Ginger, and Watermelon Mint. The “Mixed Berry” appears to be out of stock at the time of writing my review.

Both sound great as I am a fan of all these flavors.

To mix is really simple, just add one serving (one level scoop) of Steel Greens to a shaker cup or blender filled with 8-12 fl. oz. of cold water or your favorite beverage (adjust for taste preferences) and mix thoroughly.

Steel Greens is not the best tasting superfood supplement I have tried but it's certainly not the worse. With the two flavor options, it's likely you will like one or the other.

Side Effects

There are unlikely to be any side effects from consuming Steel Greens. You are advised to only consume once per day.

As with any supplement, if you have any pre-existing medical condition or are taking prescription medication then you should first seek medical advice before taking this brand.

Do Steel Greens Work?

Readers of my blog will know the effectiveness of any supplement is down to its ingredients, and most importantly its dosages.

Looking at the main blend in this formula, the 5g of Greens and Fruit powder, this contains 10 ingredients you will most likely be familiar with, such as Spinach, Kale, and Chlorella.

Each ingredient in this blend weighs 500mg and although this seems like a decent dosage for most of these ingredients you simply need more.

For example, to enjoy the benefits of Chlorella you need to consume AT LEAST 1.2-3 grams per day Healthline.

Overall, there is an okay amount of greens in this formula, it would have been better to include fever ingredients and instead bump up the individual dosage to be sure you're consuming enough.

Red berries

Next up is there 2.5g combination of six different organic reds that include a bunch of berries (raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, etc).

Berries are a great source of antioxidants and polyphenols and the reason why you find these in powdered red superfoods.

the dosages of the berries in this formula are nearly double those seen in some reds formulas

We see the dosages of the berries in this formula are nearly double those seen in some reds formulas (looking at you Vital Reds!), which means you're definitely getting more value for money with Steel Greens.

So on to the probiotics in Steel Greens.

I make no secret of the fact that I am not a fan of probiotics in greens supplements.

This is because probiotics are incredibly delicate nutrients and when placed within multi-ingredient formulas can reduce their effectiveness.

On top of this, how well you store probiotics will impact their bioavailability of them too. This is one of the reasons why greens should be refrigerated when opened and not pre-mixed for the next days' consumption.

Steel Greens Reviews

I like to check out where possible a brands' Amazon Store to get customer feedback. There are only 16 reviews so far for the brand and so it looks to be very new.

So far the feedback is good though.

The Amazon rating is 4.9 out of 5 although with more reviews this will likely change. We can only see two reviews so far.

I was sent the wrong flavor, but it tastes good, so I'll keep it! I feel like this has helped regulate my digestion a bit already and it's only been a week. I've been taking 1 scoop in the morning with water. Haven't noticed other effects quite yet, but less bloating was my main goal, so I am happy so far.5-stars

On the website, there are 326 reviews for Steel Greens. These are ALL positive reviews rating 4 or 5 stars.

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Steel Fit offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on all products ordered through their official website. There is no mention on the website if this applies to open tubs or whether they only accept unused sealed tubs.

Where to buy Steel Greens?

You can buy Steel greens directly from the Steel Fit online shop and on their Amazon Store.

Is It Worth The Price?

Each tub costs a very reasonable $39.95 for 30-servings with free shipping for all US orders.

This is a good price for a greens supplement and fits in with the average price of a greens powder.

The serving size is a little smaller than the more premium brands like Supergreen Tonik and AG1, but is larger than others (Bulletproof Greens) that have smaller serving sizes.

The daily cost of $1.33 Steel Greens is reasonably good value for money.

Verdict on Steel Greens

Steel Greens and Reds is a decent product that discloses the ingredient weights in the formula.

The dosages are a little low for most of the ingredients but the money this is a decent price and would suit those looking for greens on a budget.

In summary, the price is affordable and contains a nice mixture of both greens and reds in the formula and could be a good choice to cover any nutritional gaps in your diet.

Bowmar Nutrition Greens claims to fill your nutritional gaps with their superfood-packed formula. Does this supplement pack enough of a nutrient punch though?

As I find with 99% of the greens supplements I review, the ingredients are within a proprietary blend and so we don’t get to know the real ingredient dosages.

Does this beg the question is there enough in this formula to work?

If you're considering trying this supplement then read my Bowmar Nutrition Greens review to see if this is the answer to filling any gaps in your diet.

Bowmar Nutrition Greens tub

What is Bowmar Greens?

Bowmar Nutrition Greens is a superfood supplement that contains 13 vegetables and fruits in one easy-to-take serving with water, protein, or your favorite smoothie.

Each tub contains 75 servings and so can be either shared with family members or taken over 2 ½ months.

The branding on the tubs reminded me of few fitness greens brand such as Smashin Greens and Greens Freak.

Background on Bowmar Nutrition

Sarah Bowmar and Josh Bowmar are co-owners of Bowmar Nutrition which started selling supplements in 2018 and has grown its range to over 50 different brands including capsules, powders, and gummies.

They both started a podcast called “The Bowmar Show” in 2019 that openly talks about their lives as well as discusses business and health tips. Since started the show has over 500k downloads and growing!

The couple resonates with their audience and helps to spread awareness of their supplement business.

Bowmar Nutrition Being Sued

Bowmar Nutrition is currently fighting a claim made by a dozen customers over the claims made by one of their protein supplements.

They claim that Bowmar lied about the protein content in their supplement.

Testing performed by reputable laboratories has established that some of the products manufactured by Bowmar have 10% to 67% fewer grams of protein than advertised.

You can read more about this ongoing case here.

Bowmar Greens Ingredients

These powdered greens contain one of the smallest serving sizes I have seen in a supplement (and I have checked a LOT now!).

Each serving consists of between 3800mg and 4380mg of ingredients depending on the flavor consumed. The matcha flavor is 500mg larger due to the additional bulk of the matcha flavor.

In the tub are 13 vegetable and fruit “sources” within a proprietary blend.

On the label is no nutritional information on the vitamin and minerals within each serving. There will be some within the ingredients but it seems no additional ones are added.

Bowmar’s formula has 10 calories per serving which come from the 3 grams of carbs.

Here is the complete list of Bowmar Greens ingredients:

  • Kale – high in vitamins A, C, and K and minerals
  • Broccoli – contains powerful antioxidants
  • Spinach – packed with antioxidants and beta-carotene (how much spinach should I eat a day?)
  • Barley – aids in digestion
  • Flaxseed – improve digestive health, lower blood pressure and bad cholesterol
  • Wheatgrass – antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties
  • Blueberries – Packed with antioxidants and phytoflavinoids; anti-inflammatory
  • Apple – good source of antioxidants, fiber, water
  • Lemon – aids in detoxification and improves skin
  • Spirulina – protects against allergic reactions
  • Chlorella – boosts antibody count, promotes weight loss, and fights cancer

Here is the supplement facts label and available flavors (Berry, Lemon, Match, and Peach):

Bowmar supplement facts and flavors

Tip: If you struggle to decipher the nutritional facts on supplements then it's worth heading over to my how to decipher supplement labels article.

How does Bowmar Greens Taste?

There are four flavor options to choose from; Berry, Lemon, Peach, and Matcha (in sachet form only as it's a discontinued flavor).

According to Bowmar Nutrition, it is recommended to consume their Greens on an empty stomach before your first meal of the day. However, you can drink it at any time of the day, especially as there is no caffeine in the formula.

Side Effects

There will unlikely be any side effects from taking these greens. I believe this is mostly because the ingredient dosage is very low and so there aren’t going to be scientifically dosed.

As with any supplement, if you have any pre-existing medical condition or are taking prescription medication then you should first seek medical advice before taking this brand.

Do Bowmar Greens Work?

The effectiveness of any supplement is down to its ingredients. Bowmar Nutrition does not disclose the exact weights of each ingredient and so we have no idea if sufficient amounts are available.

This is incredibly frustrating when considering how effective Bowmar Greens could be, we simply don’t know.

Unfortunately, those ingredients in smallest amounts are those that work the best, such as Spirulina and Chlorella

The ingredients in Bowmar Greens are fairly standard a mixture of greens, fibers, and fruits. The order of the ingredients listed in the proprietary blend indicates the size in the formula, and so we know that Kale makes up the largest ingredient in the blend, along with Chlorella is the smallest amount.

This is unfortunate because those ingredients listed last (Chlorella and Spirulina) are some of the most beneficial but to see them listed last is disappointing.

Best Spirulina Powders & supplements

According to the research (Healthline) Spirulina in dosages of 1-3 grams per day has a number of health benefits, such as may reduce blood pressure, improve muscle strength and size, along with anti-inflammatory properties.

This is why you can find Spirulina in many supplements, especially green superfoods.

The dosage in Bowmar will be way too low to hit the required 1-3 grams per serving.

The same goes with Chlorella, a single-cell green freshwater alga that is one of the most nutritious algae on the planet, packed with protein, iron, vitamin B12, vitamin C, antioxidants, omega-3s, and fiber.

You can find Chlorella supplements as the main ingredient or in powdered greens too, but often they are in dosages way higher than this brand.

According to Heathline, recommended dosages of Chlorella range from 1.2 grams up to 3 grams per day.

If your diet is incredibly low in nutrients then taking Bowmar Greens could have an overall health benefit if taken for a long period of time. But otherwise, the low dosages of the key ingredients make it unlikely you would notice much impact.

Bowmar Greens Reviews

I like to get customer reviews from a few sources to get a fair balanced picture from people who have purchased and tried it.

I couldn’t find Bowmar Greens on Amazon and so can only see the reviews on the Bowmar Nutrition website.

As you would expect, all seven of the available reviews show 5 stars!

I adore the lemon greens. I know most people make greens into a shot but the lemon you can truly just sip them. I take my 1 scoop in 16oz of water and add a little fresh lemon juice and its my favorite way to end my night.Mollie, 5-stars

The Berry flavored greens are so good and refreshing. I actually crave it every morning! Dreau, 5-stars

I do not believe a perfect supplement exists, even my own supplement may not appeal to everyone.

Often it's not necessarily about the ingredients themselves but the flavor.

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

The returns policy depends on whether you have opened or unopened tubs.

Opened tubs only last for seven days after delivery – this is not long with which to try out your greens and a lot less than other brands on the market.

Unopened tubs have up to 30 days with which to request a refund.

There is a re-stocking fee of $9.95 for returns for both opened and unopened tubs.

Where to buy Bowmar Greens?

You can buy Bowmar greens directly from the Bowmar Nutrition shop.

Is It Worth The Price?

A one-time purchase of Bowmar Greens costs $44.95 with the option of saving 5% on their subscribe and save option ($42.74).

When available, I typically see subscription options offered for a bigger discount of 10-20% depending on the brand.

The cost of each serving works out to be around $1.50. This is the range for the average price of a greens powder.

On the plus side, each tub contains 75 servings and so will last longer than most brands, other than say Green Vibrance, which typically last 30-days.

In terms of value for money, although these greens are very affordable I don’t believe they reflect good value considering the tiny serving size.

Verdict on Bowmar Greens

If you’re eating a varied and balanced diet on most days and want to “top up” on some greens then Bowmar Greens may be worth considering.

The concern I have is that I don’t believe the serving size is big enough to get scientifically dosed amounts of each of the 13 fruit and vegetables.

With so many other brands offering a more nutrient-dense formula there are simply too many other better options to ignore.

With the recent release of Bulletproof's Greens supplement I have received requests to compare this to my own superfood brand, Supergreen Tonik.

Both brands include nootropic ingredients but the ingredient sizes and openness of their formulas are very different.

At first glance, Bulletproof Greens looks to be much cheaper than Supergreen Tonik, but the much smaller serving size means you may not be getting just enough of the good stuff.

So, if you’re thinking of purchasing either formula, or you’re stuck between the two, check out my full Bulletproof Greens vs Supergreen Tonik comparison review below.

What is Bulletproof Greens?

Bulletproof Greens jar

Bulletproof Greens was released in 2022 by biohacking company Bulletproof, which has a number of supplements, most notably Bulletproof Coffee and MCT oils.

As you would expect from Bulletproof, the branding is strong and gives you the confidence that this product is the real deal.

I am a fan of this company but have concerns over the serving size and the dosing of the core ingredients in this brand.

Pros

  • 35 ingredients, including 2 nootropics
  • Brand has great reputation
  • Cost effective
  • 30-day money-back guarantee

Cons

  • Proprietary blends
  • Likely some under-dosed ingredients

I did a full-length Bulletproof Greens review on my site too, where I go into the product in more detail.

What is Supergreen Tonik?

Supergreen TONIK and glass

Supergreen Tonik was developed by me in 2019 to help me overcome the symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome that have left me constantly tired, sick, and unable to fully concentrate and focus.

I looked at the ingredients that have been proven to help your body and mind and worked with a leading US manufacturer to turn this into my first supplement brand.

Since we launched, Supergreen Tonik has grown from strength to strength as it resonates with customers who align with the “full transparency” ethos. Along with, wanting a greens powder that focuses on fewer ingredients in the right dosages.

Pros

  • Fully disclosed ingredients label
  • 16 superfood ingredients and 22 vitamins/minerals (full dosages)
  • Vegan, paleo, keto friendly formula
  • 365 money-back guarantee

Cons

  • Not the cheapest on the market

Bulletproof Greens Vs Supergreen Tonik Benefits

Bulletproof Greens

Most greens supplements include ingredients that can promote brain health but few contain nootropics seen in standalone brain supplements. Bulletproof Greens include a couple of nootropics that they claim can support focus and attention and help keep you sharp.

Bulletproof Greens helps to support overall health and wellness, including cognitive and gut health.

Supergreen Tonik

There is a massive difference in the quality of supplements online; it's the reason why I felt so compelled to develop Supergreen Tonik from scratch.

The formula contains three blends (Organic Greens Blend, Brain Blend, Immune blend) and all the essential vitamins and minerals required for healthy living.

But this supplement is more than just for health. The inclusion of dedicated ingredients has been proven to boost immunity, cognitive function and memory, and reduce anxiety.

There are no probiotics inside this formula though, mostly because these nutrients are very unstable when mixed into a multi-ingredient formula. This raises the question of how bioactive probiotics within greens supplements can actually be.

Bulletproof Greens Vs Supergreen Tonik Ingredients

Bulletproof Greens

Both brands have a similar number of ingredients, Bulletproof Greens has 35 ingredients split into four blends and 9 vitamins/minerals.

As is common with 99% of greens supplements the company uses proprietary blends and so we don't get to know the ingredient weights, only the size of each blend.

Supplement facts label

The serving size is only 7.9 grams (35% smaller than Supergreen Tonik's 12 grams) and so the ingredient dosages are not going to be high.

This means many of the ingredients in the formula are likely to be under-dosed.

Supergreen Tonik

The formula in Supergreen Tonik contains 16 superfoods and adaptogens, with 22 vitamins/minerals added all on a fully disclosed label. This means you get to see all the individual weights of every ingredient in the blends.

The greens blend contains 7.5 grams split across 6 ingredients many of which will be familiar to anyone researching powdered greens.

There are 2 grams each of Spirulina, Chlorella, Spinach, etc. all hitting the recommended dosages.

In contrast to Bulletproof Greens' two nootropics (450mg), the Nootropic Blend in Supergreen Tonik contains over 3 times the serving (1.6 grams), there’s 500mg of ashwagandha and the recommended daily dose is between 500-600mg, so this also hits the recommended dose.

In the Immune Blend (1 gram), there’s 250mg of garlic extract the recommended daily dose is between 100-400mg, so this also hits the recommended dose.

Bulletproof Greens Vs Supergreen Tonik Taste

Bulletproof Greens

The greens are easy to mix in 8-10oz of cold water and the taste has a slight pineapple flavor. I found the taste to be fine, but some customers say is a little sweet.

It's worth keeping in mind that taste is very subjective though and can be difficult to hide the bitterness of some ingredients.

Supergreen Tonik

Considering the high dosages of greens in this formula Supergreen Tonik tastes great. It's been compared to a cool mint tea when trying the mint flavor in cool water.

Recently we launched another flavor for those customers not so keen on mint. The berry flavor is naturally flavored with berries and mixes well with smoothies.

There are no artificial sweeteners or additional sugar added and the slight sweetness is from the stevia leaf.

Supergreen tonik front and back label

Bulletproof Greens Vs Supergreen Tonik Cost

Bulletproof Greens

A single tub purchase costs $44.95 whilst a subscription to Bulletproof Greens is cheaper at $35.96 and currently includes a free branded shaker.

The subscription offer is available for periods of 2 to 12 weeks depending on how often you wish to consume it.

This makes the price very affordable with serving costs of $1.20 to $1.50.

The 7.9gram serving size is on the tiny size, especially considering competitors typically have 12 gram servings – 36% more

It's worth highlighting again that the serving size is much smaller than many of the popular greens brands – 35% smaller than the comparison brand here, Supergreen Tonik.

This means it's not quite the value for money it may first appear.

Supergreen Tonik

Supergreen Tonik makes no secret that this is one of the more premium greens brands on the market. There are only a few other competitors higher in monthly price (AG1 is one).

A single tub costs $87 with options to save money on the 3-tub and 6-tub bundles.

However, you can save money if you choose to purchase a bundle option. If you purchase a 3-month supply bundle, the cost per serving goes down to $2.46; if you purchase the 5-month supply bundle, the cost per serving goes down to $2.13.

Every US order has free shipping and International orders cost from $30-55 depending on the location.

Bulletproof Greens VS Supergreen Tonik: Which is Better?

Bulletproof Greens is a great product but I feel the smaller serving size and the lack of transparency with the ingredients mean that Supergreen Tonik is a better option.

There is a price difference though and so if you're on a budget then taking Bulletproof Greens will certainly be better than nothing.

However, if you can stretch the extra dollars and wish to take a scientifically dosed supplement then obviously, Supergreen Tonik is the preferred option.

More greens powder supplements now are including nootropic nutrients to promote better cognition and longer term brain health.

Many green brands promote better mental and brain health but few contain dedicated nootropic ingredients, except for Supergreen Tonik and Bulletproof Greens.

I'm going to look at some of the best greens on the market to give you a mental boost and ensure a healthy, long life for your brain.

AG1 Athletic Greens

Athletic Greens (AG1) Pouch

Athletic Greens is one of the most popular greens powders, especially with brand ambassadors and some athletes.

As greens powder supplements go, Athletic Greens is more of a general use supplement, with no emphasis placed on improving mental acuity and brain health.

Its extensive list of 75 ingredients proven to help with inflammation, increased energy, and gut health is not explicitly designed for brain performance. Also, with only 12g for a serving and a proprietary blend label, it's hard to tell how much of those 75 ingredients you're getting in a scoop.

For example, one of its adaptogens, Reishi mushroom extract, has only a 154mg dose in a serving, while the recommended quantity is closer to 1.5-1.9g.

Pros:

  • Leafy greens, spirulina, and green tea extract in the Athletic Greens formula are proven to increase energy levels, reduce mental fatigue and improve mental stamina.
  • The digestive enzymes complex and probiotic blend assist in maintaining gut health, which is key to healthy brain function.

Cons:

  • Less competitive list of nootropics than other competitors on our list shows Athletic Greens is more of a comprehensive blend not designed specifically for brain health.
  • $100 for a month's supply is the most expensive product on our list, especially for a set of ingredients many cheaper competitors have on their labels.

Bulletproof Greens

Bulletproof Greens jar

The biohacking company is well known for its Bulletproof Coffee and MCT oils and so only natural that they would get around to a powdered greens formula.

Bulletproof Greens has only recently launched in 2022 but I am including it here because this is one of the few greens supplements that includes dedicated nootropic ingredients (Citicoline and Panax Ginseng Root Extract).

Each serving contains a mix of 35 superfoods, vitamins, minerals, and digestive aids, plus nootropics. Unlike a few brands outlined in my list, the serving size is 7.9grams, which is not too impressive considering other top brands have 12-gram serving sizes (AG1, Supergreen Tonik).

The price is very affordable and if you're looking for an all-around green with some nootropics then Bulletproof Greens could be a good option.

Pros:

  • Affordable price
  • Contains two nootropic ingredients
  • Popular brand well known for its coffee and keto-friendly supplements

Cons:

  • Proprietary formula and so ingredient dosages not known
  • Serving size is a little small compared to other leading greens brands

It also contains a healthy 400mg dose of magnesium which is thought to be beneficial to brain performance and enable deeper, more restorative sleep, which is essential to brain recovery.

Pros:

It's also packed with 18 billion probiotics, putting it at the upper end of gut-friendly powders on our list. However, the effectiveness of probiotics when ingested in superfood powders has not been researched fully.

Pros:

  • At $65 for 90 servings, this is the overall cheapest greens powder supplement, at only 72 cents a serving.
  • It's stacked with the majority of your daily vitamin requirements.
  • The taste is more pleasing than some of the competition.

Cons:

  • One serving claims to equal five servings of fruit and veg, however, it's too short on Magnesium, fiber, and B-vitamins to be considered a replacement for real fruit and veg.

Raw Organic Perfect Food Green Superfood

As you could expect from the label, the 34 all-natural ingredients in this super greens powder are raw and vegan friendly.

The comprehensive list of leafy greens, superfoods, and sprouts are impressive, and they are all in the form of juice extracts, so you can get the full benefit of the phytonutrients of each ingredient.

However, the full potency of each serving is only 6 grams, which, while not terrible, is 2.5 grams less than a serving of Athletic Greens. It also doesn't contain any brain-boosting ingredients, and the strong veggie flavor with no added sweetener may turn a lot of people off.

Pros:

  • The all-natural blend of ingredients is raw and vegan friendly.
  • Great range of leafy greens and sprouting vegetables.
  • $28 for a month's servings is very good value.

Cons:

  • Very low potency compared to other green powders.
  • The strong taste may be off-putting.

What to Look For in a Greens Powder

It's always important to ensure your greens powder drink lists its ingredients explicitly. Often companies will hide their dosage behind a ‘proprietary blend,' making it impossible to tell how much you are getting in each dose.

If you're hunting for a mental boost, always check that it contains one of the nootropics we've mentioned, such as Ashwagandha, Reishi extract, or Rhodiola Rosea.

8 Best Greens Powder With Probiotics

I have researched over 77 brands of greens powders in the last few years, even working with a US-based manufacturer to develop my brand.

So, it's safe to say I know a thing or two about green supplements. Even though it is questionable how effective a probiotic formula with greens can be for the body, I know that people are keen to take the “complete nutritional supplement”.

Here is my list of 8 greens powders with probiotics, explaining their respective pros and cons.

Garden Of Life Raw Organic Perfect Food

Garden Of Life Perfect Food Review

You might be surprised to hear that greens powders can boast that all their ingredients are organic. This is where Garden of Life Perfect Food green powder stands out, with an entirely organic list of veggies, greens, fruits, and probiotics.

The juices all come from raw juice, preserving the valuable phytonutrients. This green drink packs a mighty green punch with ginger, kale, spinach, beetroot extract, and 13 sprouting veggies.

It's great that probiotics and enzymes are mentioned alongside the main blends. These ensure your gut is operating at peak capacity, so your body gets the most out of the dense levels of nutrients and calories.

The probiotic and enzyme dosage is on the lower end of the scale at 100g. Many of the measurements are also hidden behind a proprietary blend, which is a shame considering the effort into assembling them.

Pros:

  • The commitment to a broad selection of organic, raw vegetables, leaves, and fruit sets it apart from the competition
  • The fruit juice extracts preserve valuable and potent phytonutrients

Cons:

  • Proprietary blend labeling makes it difficult to know the dosages in a serving
  • The authentic, earthy flavor may put some people off
  • The probiotics dose is at the lower end of the scale

AG1 Athletic Greens

Athletic Greens (AG1) Pouch

Athletic Greens AG1 is the most popular, well-known brand of greens powders with classy marketing and a range of high-profile brand ambassadors.

The athletic greens blend of superfoods is designed to improve energy levels and improve gut health and gastrointestinal function.

It's hard to write about how good this blend is, as Athletics Greens' ingredient labeling only shows the weight of its superfood blends. An overall dose is only 12g, so it's not hard to assume that you aren't getting a massive dose of the nutrients listed.

Among its superfood blend are wheatgrass, alfalfa, lecithin, and spirulina. All of which are known for aiding digestion and inflammatory properties.

The probiotic blend, though, sits at a very low 38mg. With inconclusive studies into how well probiotics translate from greens powders, it's hard to confirm this is an effective dose.

Pros:

  • A wide range of minerals and nutrients is available in its huge superfood ingredients
  • Improved energy levels, digestive function, and increased blood flow are among the benefits of this greens supplement.
  • It contains Stevia and sweeteners, so the taste is well-liked compared to other green supplements that aren't sweetened.

Cons:

  • This is a little expensive at $79-$99 for a month's supply
  • Proprietary blend labeling makes it impossible to know the dosage you are taking

Kylea Total Living Drink Greens

Kylea Health - Total Living Greens Drink

Kylea Greens claims to offer the equivalent of not only 7-10 servings of fruit per serving but also contains 11-12g of protein in a serving, which is great if you're looking to up your intake.

Because this greens powder includes protein, the serving size of Kylea is 40g, significantly higher than the standard greens powder serving size.

Kylea is more like a supplement than a traditional super greens powder. Its minerals and vitamins have been added to the mix instead of being derived from various fruits and greens.

On top of these great nutrition levels, Kylea contains four different kinds of probiotics, but we cannot tell you exactly how much you're getting because of the proprietary blend.

Pros:

  • 11-12g of protein per serving is a great boast and something that most other green powders can't offer
  • High vitamin levels are not restricted by coming from natural sources

Cons:

  • A proprietary blend makes it hard to know how many other nutrients are in a dose, especially with the high percentage of protein.
  • It is less of a green superfoods drink than an overall supplement with a range of added nutrients and minerals

Jacked Factory Green Surge

Green Surge Greens Powder

Credit is due to Jacked Factory Greens for being honest with their labeling, which shows the measurements of most of their ingredients, besides the 150mg enzyme blend.

They're proud to give their probiotic blend top billing, and with a giant 535mg dose of six different friendly bacteria, who can blame them? These microbes all help create a healthy digestive system and gastrointestinal function.

Beyond that is an exhaustive list of green vegetables, fruit, and greens powders stacked with minerals and nutrients. The high-powered digestive enzyme blend assists in your body's effective absorption of Green Surges' array of nutrients, including amylase, found in saliva, which speeds up absorption, and bromelain, an anti-inflammatory.

Pros:

  • The high dosage of probiotics shows that gut health is important to the people who designed this product
  • Digestive enzyme blend ensures your body is getting the most out of the high levels of vitamins and nutrients

Cons:

  • Some users have complained about stomach aches and cramps after drinking, though this can happen anecdotally with greens powders

MacroLife Naturals Macro Greens Superfood

MacroLife Superfoods MacroGreens

Thirty-eight superfoods go into one dose of Macro Greens, all dense in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and enzymes.

The proprietary superfood blend is a solid 1735mg containing health-boosting properties. The cracked cell variety of chlorella is present, which is easier for our body to digest than the unbroken chlorella variety.

Macro Greens powder also contains aloe vera, which has been proven to help with various health complaints, including constipation, and 1225mg of natural fruit and seed fibers.

The 200mg enzyme blend has improved gastrointestinal health, having a huge beneficial knock-on effect on our body's performance, further enhanced by the blend's 18 billion probiotics.

Pros:

  • 18 billion probiotic bacteria assist in maintaining a healthy, powerful microbiome
  • Great taste and very cost-effective compared to other green powders

Cons:

  • Proprietary blend again makes measurements challenging to understand, though they are still more honest than some competition

Beyond Greens

Livewell Beyond Greens review

The 14 superfood ingredients in this greens powder work to detoxify the body and provide an immunity boost and higher energy levels while improving liver function and reducing inflammation.

It's great to look at the label of Beyond Greens and see exactly how much of each ingredient is going into a serving.

Several ingredients are present specifically for their ability to enhance gut health, including prebiotics, probiotics, Rhodiola extract, and echinacea.

The functional mushroom blend is also impressive, harnessing the natural potency of the lion's mane, turkey tail, cordyceps, and reishi mushroom. These have incredible health properties, including boosting white blood cell count, anti-carcinogens, and promoting healthy gut bacteria.

Pros:

  • The impressive mushroom stack harnesses the power of these amazing mushrooms for powerful health benefits.
  • Honest labeling helps us understand precisely how much of each ingredient we are getting in a dose

Cons:

  • While it contains a great spread of superfoods, it should be drunk as a supplement, not a replacement for fruit and veg, due to the lower doses of some of the ingredients.

Amazing Grass Green Superfood Booster

Tasting Amazing Grass

Amazing Grass Green Superfood is one of the more popular greens powders on the market, though it lacks potency compared to other green dietary supplements.

Coming either in original Sweet Berry or Chocolate flavor, this supplement is great for those put off by the earthy taste of some powders. The ingredients are beneficial to improving digestion, boosting gastrointestinal function, and upping energy levels.

However, due to the low dosing, you could experience all of these results in better form from a supplement with higher dosing. The dosage of the digestive enzymes and probiotics also leaves us wanting more.

That being said, this green powder receives great reviews, with a solid 4.6/5 Amazon score, so users are generally very pleased with the health benefits of this green supplement.

Pros:

  • A variety of taste options is more inclusive to those who don't care for the taste of powdered greens
  • Solid customer reviews speak to the product's good performance

Cons:

  • Low dosing means you won't get the full potency of many superfood ingredients
  • The proprietary blend of enzymes and active cultures makes it difficult to see how much we get of each

Green Vibrance's Plant-Based Superfood

Green Vibrance Tub

Green Vibrance superfood has a top-quality profile and probiotic compounds are the top green supplements on the market.

Green Vibrance includes barley grass, oat grass, wheatgrass, and turmeric, available in either original or Chocolate Coconut flavor. However, some of these ingredients, kale, at only 50g, are dosed too low for you to enjoy the benefits.

The antioxidant profile is strong with ingredients such as tomato, strawberry, and goji berry, which are great ingredients to detoxify your system; these ingredients are all in generous doses, too, so you're getting an effective amount.

The probiotic number sits at a solid 25 billion bacteria, which is solid but by no means the highest number of friendly bacteria on our list.

Pros:

  • The enzyme blend and probiotic bacteria complex offer a great boost to your body's absorption of the superfood profile and strengthen your gut biome's overall health.
  • The Chocolate Coconut may entice users who don't enjoy the earthy taste of greens powders.
  • Strong antioxidant profile.

Cons:

  • Weaker doses of some ingredients mean you won't reap their benefits as you would from other supplements.
  • 9600mg of superfood puts it in the low-medium range of superfoods in the greens powder market.

What Are Probiotic Greens Good for?

Infamous French general Napoleon hit the nail when he said, “An army marches on its stomach.”

How To Choose The Best Greens Powder?

It's important to ensure that the labeling is clear to ensure you're buying the most potent option. Also, check that the probiotic levels are adequate; anything below 20 billion is less effective.

Legion Genesis Greens is a greens supplement that claims to boosts your energy levels, mood, and libido; and enhances heart and circulatory health and immunity.

Most greens supplements cram in lots of ingredients to impress their customers, but Legion Greens take a different approach, one that I applaud.

The focus with Genesis is very much on fewer ingredients in scientific dosages not often seen in powered greens formulas.

Legion Genesis Greens review

What is Genesis Greens?

Genesis Greens is a superfood supplement that contains just five ingredients that they claim are in clinically scientific dosages.

This is really music to my ears as ever since I started researching greens supplements a few years ago I found that nearly all supplement companies focus on cramming many ingredients into a single serving.

Genesis claims to give you more energy, sex drive, immunity, less stress, anxiety, and fatigue. I will look into this supplement's effectiveness in the “does it work” section below.

It's worth highlighting that very few greens products promote sex drive as a benefit.

So, it will be interesting to see if this stacks up!

Genesis Greens Ingredients

Each serving of Genesis Greens is a hefty 21.5 grams which is nearly double that of other leading greens supplements on the market.

Almost 14 grams of the serving is split between five core ingredients that are shown below.

With a bigger serving size then each scoop is 70 calories, with 12 grams of carbs and 4 grams of protein.

Here is the complete list of Bulletproof Greens ingredients:

  • Organic Spirulina (5 grams) – Rich source of vitamins and minerals essential for maintaining a healthy immune system, like vitamins E, C, and B6
  • Reishi Mushroom (3 grams) – Bitter-tasting fungus that is thought to have some effects on the immune system
  • Astragalus Membranaceus (3 grams) – A flowering plant that is considered an adaptogen with health benefits
  • Angelica Sinensis (1.25 grams) – Commonly known as dong quai or female ginseng, used in Chinese medicine to enrich blood, promote blood circulation and modulate the immune system
  • Maca (1.5 grams) – A number of benefits from increasing libido, boosting energy and performance, improving mood etc.

If you're familiar with powdered greens, you'll notice that Genesis doesn't show any vitamins and minerals on the label. This is because they don't add additional vitamins and minerals into their formula and instead rely on those in the ingredients themselves.

This does mean we have no information on the vitamin and mineral content.

Here is the supplement facts label:

Tip: If you struggle to decipher the nutritional facts on supplements then it's worth heading over to my reading supplement labels article.

How does Legion Greens Taste?

I like the fact that Genesis offers a choice of two flavors, “original” or “Acai Berry”, however at the time of this review, only the Genesis original flavor was in stock.

Taste is a big factor when taking powder supplements and so having a couple of options is useful.

Genesis Greens uses natural sweeteners stevia and erythritol.

Side Effects

Unless you're particularly sensitive to or allergic to Stevia leaf, you will unlikely suffer from any side effects when consuming Legion Greens.

As with any supplement, if you have any pre-existing medical condition or are taking prescription medication, you should seek medical advice before taking this brand.

Do Legion Greens Work?

Determining the effectiveness of any supplement brand can be started by delving into the supplement label and checking the dosages of each ingredient in the formula.

Thankfully, unlike many greens brands, Legion Greens contain NO proprietary formulas and reveals all the ingredient dosages in the formula.

This is a big tick for me, as I like to know exactly what's inside any supplement I am consuming.

Legion Greens contains NO proprietary formulas and reveals all the ingredient dosages in the formula.

Delving into the formula, we can see the main ingredient is Spirula, a blue-green alga that is a popular choice in many supplements for it's one of the richest and most complete sources of vital nutrients.

The health benefits of Spirulina are well documented (Healthline) and there is more than enough Spirulina per serving according to the research of 1-3 grams per day.

Reishi mushrooms

Reishi Mushrooms are becoming a popular adaptogen in many supplements because of the growing research into the benefits of mushrooms.

From my experience most supplements containing Mushrooms severely underdose.

According to WebMd dosages of 1400-5400 mg by mouth daily are most often seen and sometimes lower Reishi mushroom extracts.

Again, Genesis is well within these recommendations.

The third ingredient, Astragalus, is a common herb used in Chinese medicine. The most effective form or typical dosage is between 9–30 grams per day.

Genesis contains 3 grams of a 5:1 Astragalus extract per serving, providing the equivalent of 15 grams of the raw root.

The next ingredient is angelica root is commonly known as dong quai or female ginseng and whilst there is no standard dosage established most over-the-counter supplements contain 500–2,000 mg of powdered angelica root or angelica root extract per serving (Healthline).

One of the ingredients in the formula was a surprise, maca root. Although the evidence is limited there are reports of improved energy, libido, fertility, and reduced symptoms of menopause.

Maca root

Checking through the evidence outlined on Healthline though it does seem that the research highlights daily dosages of 2-4 grams per day – Genesis has 1.5 grams per serving and so this may be a little low.

Considering the dosages for most of the ingredients in this formula then it's very likely you would experience some of the benefits claimed by Legion.

My only complaint is that I want to see vitamins and minerals in the formula.

Legion Greens Reviews

I like to get a feel for a product by looking at the Amazon reviews, unfortunately, although Legion Supplements are on Amazon Genesis Greens is nowhere to be found.

So, I have taken a balanced selection of these Genesis Greens reviews directly from the official website.

Ive tried a few other greens before but must say so far this has been one of the better tasting ones. A great way to start the morning, just add a little honey and its great!5-stars

t’s not the worst greens drink I’ve tried, but definitely not the best either. Got Acia Berry and flavor is blah by itself but not bad after I added Blue Raspberry Recharge with it. Very hard to get Genesis fully dissolved. I didn’t really notice any of the claims thus far yet (but have been taking diligently for three weeks now)3-stars

I was really excited to try this after a recommendation from a fitness professional, but I found it to be undrinkable. The taste, texture, smell was just so unappealing. I mixed it with water using the instructions and couldn’t drink more than a few tiny sips. I love green smoothies and juices, but I don’t think I’m hardcore enough for this.1-star

The customer feedback clearly shows the importance of taste when reviewing greens supplements. It does seem that this brand may have to look at the taste.

Part of this is likely to be the large ingredient dosages of Maca in the formula. This ingredient has a VERY bitter taste and so masking this flavor is going to be tough.

Money-Back Guarantee / Returns Policy

Legion is one of the only supplement brands that offer a 365-day money-back guarantee after the purchase. I have only seen this in use with my greens supplement, Supergreen Tonik.

Where to buy Legion Greens?

You can buy Genesis greens directly from the Legion online shop here.

Many of the other Legion brands can also be found on Amazon but it seems that Genesis Greens is not on this platform at the time of this review.

Is It Worth The Price?

A one-time purchase of Genesis Greens is $49.95 with options to pay in installments if you wish.

Taking the monthly subscription option saves you 10%, so each tub is a very affordable $44.95.

Shipping within the US is completely free of charge and International shipping varies according to where you live. For example, the UK would be $31 (with $16 tax), Canada $20, and Australia $39.

In terms of value for money, each serving costs between $1.48 and $1.66, which is very cost-effective compared to other brands on the market.

Verdict on Genesis Greens

Often greens brands contain proprietary formulas and likely under-dosed the main ingredients, this is NOT the case with Legion.

Genesis Greens is very affordable and a good choice if you're looking for a few ingredients dosed in proper scientific dosages. The formula lacks many beneficial ingredients typically found in powdered greens, though.

In summary, great branding and the price is affordable but lacks the adaptogens and other superfoods usually found in greens powders.
